Before the big trip I needed to take a lil' nappy nap. Rest is very important when your responsible for an entire crew, just ask Captain Kirk. Who put that binky in my mouth?

We stayed an extra night in Topton and let the cousins play. They had a really nice time with each other.

We started oout aggain the next morning on our way down to Jupiter Beach. Once again, the trip down in the car was fairly uneventful. We stopped a few times to stretch our legs and throw the baseball around. We were hoping for lunch in Atlanta with someone but....

just kidding.

As soon as we made it down we rushed of to the ocean. It was just how I remembered it... huge and blue. The kids loved playing down at the beach and wave surfing (except for the salt water part) and playing in the sand. We usually went early in the morning and then again after dinner. The loggerhead sea turtles had laid a ton of eggs on the beach and all were marked wiith a stake saying "keep away or die". They'll be hatching from now until October.
Our trip really was based on getting from one body of water to the next. We went down to the lagoon one day when it was cloudy out and the kids loved looking for hermit crabs and other sand crabs there. Zachary caught 5 crabs and had them in his bucket for a little while.

One of the days we went down to the West Palm Beach Zoo. It was awesome. They did a really nice job with it. It was about the same size as the Buffalo Zoo. On another day we went to the WPB Science Museum. That too was alot of fun and the kids had a riot at both places.

The best part for me was eating out almost every night at a different place. Grouper, crunchy grouper sandwiches, sea bass, crab cakes, shrimp, lobster bisque, crab legs... whew, I ate like a king. Someone got some sun.
Well, actually the best part was watching the kids swim everyday. Emma grew into a mermaid right before my eyes and Zach was like Mark Spitz. Too much fun.

Jff, another winner!!! I loved the aquatic commentary, kind of like jacgue cousteau! Great Pictures! sounds like you guys gave your kids a great vacation, it reminded me of vacations I took with my parents to the seaside, well it was really long beach, and the sea life along the shore, well it was more like sea weed. Great memories, for your kids, and summer is only just begun!
Thanks,
coming soon Allegany 2007.
Nephew Jff, has inspired us to also hit the road!
Cedar Point, here we come!
Film at 11
Great job with the blog nphw! Glad to see that there was even time for the old man to have a beer or two during the course of the vacation. Excellent pics to last a lifetime. I just hope that your children will remember all of these great moments, and not, like some other children, single out and exaggerate some"event" that they will continually throw back at you year after year after year. Saw the Fixxitts last evening and had a great time at the Dock of the Bay, but you should know in advance that they don't do desserts, much to the unhappiness of the Mr. Have a safe trip to Ohio Auntie B. Allegheny and Cedar Point blogs to come?
thank god you're leaving the depot, as I have a serious bone to pick with them. I bought and paid for a lawnmower, and after 20 minutes of waiting for a "MANAGER" to come and unlock the thing for me to take home, Irealized that the cable tying the mower to the property was not preventing the mower from being removed. Upon getting said mower home, I realized that it was filled with gas and ready for me to start up. Apparently, some doofus bought the mower last night, brought it home, filled it with diesel fuel and returned it to the depot after it wouldn't start. So the put the thing back out for sale.
ps- nice blog jff.
Thank you Adm, sorry to hear about your Depot woes.
Next week on the 17th Zach and I are headed down to Pittsburgh to catch an afternoon game on the 18th against the Rockies. I'm also trying to get a date so the two of us can go down to the HOF in Cooperstown, hopefully before I leave for Fla again on the 31st. Busy, busy, busy...
Nothin' else to report, the kids are in VBS this week. Zach has a playoff game coming up, but we don't know the date yet. Hopefully not the 17th.
Adm,so did it start? Or no?
Great Oliver blog this AM btw?
Oliver is totally infatuated with his mom!
Jff, we need ID's of who is in the pix. I know sandra's sisters, but 3rd frm the bottom, who are those people?
Glad to hear you enjoyed the fixxits co, maybe my sister did not do dessert because of her immobilizer on her wrist???
thillie called me at work today, she was bored, so I gave her my top time wasters at work, balance your checkbook, an oldy but a goody, count howmany paychecks til christmas, and then start your list, another definate time eater, and my favorite, blog of course!
The field trip to cedar point is not until the 26th and the 27th. anyone want to join us??? They say you have not seen Ohio til youve seen Sandusky!
Sandra and I did a Sandusky trip when we were just dating and had a great time. I'm being a daddy that weekend with the kiddies so we're out. Sandra will be down in Fla. awaiting my arrival and thinking of ways we can get kicked out of Pop Century.
My sister & family joined us at the zoo (pic question Bets)
I tend to think Dad was making SOME comment on his children's perceived vacation gratefulness -- and just for the record, I was always the grateful sweet child!
www.creedthoughts.gov.www\creedthoughts
must read blog from "The Office"
Creed thoughts??? Is that band still around? I thought that Scott Stapp got kicked out.
Kinda windy outside... we're debating dinner tonight at Dock at the Bay.
Adm, Did you take it back? That Depot definately did not follow procedure. That lawnmower should have been RTVed. Take it back, they should do a refund re-ring and take off 10%.
I went to my new job today just to have a meeting with the head attorney and meet some people. Come to find out my first day on the job, Tuesday, I need to be at the airport at 5:30am to fly out to Michigan to investigate a claim. Talk about jumping right into things. I also received my blackberry today from them, I received 7 e-mails with attachments to look over, in 4 hours. Full Steam AHEAD!
Sounds as if this company moves people up to speed quickly. Would not recommend D-O-B for dinner. Overpriced by my estimates.
rec'c in the snail mail today a wonderful invitation. so very excited! And a baby announcement, about our beautiful baby boy! However the announcement was a bit sullied as someone (adam) wrote on it in crayon go socks or something like that, but I could not take my eyes off such a handsome fella, no not adam...
so the tigers are still winless, but the spongebob square pants ice cream pops that we brought for the team snack was a huge hit! Nothing takes the sting out of loss like ice cream!
hey family and good morning. Its great to see so many good things going on -- vacations and baseball and new jobs -- wow!
Balmy day down in the ATL yesterday -- only 87. People were wearing jackets!
We didn't go to Dock of the Bay last night because of the wind. Instead we went over to the Fixits with a bag of Sahlen hot dogs and I cooked them up on the grill for the rents. Interesting, when I mentioned to father that we were going to the DOB, he too said it was overpriced there. My theory is that my Unckie and father order too many pitchers and that increases the bill a bit too much for their liking. Just a theory.
Thrllie, once again congrats on moving ahead with another job. A question though, when they gave you the Michigan assignment, did they give you a box for the job or do you get one when you arrive? Are there different sized boxes for each assignment?
Go Yankees!!!
sighhh so nice to see another Yankee fan on the blog!
I have a gut feeling its going to be a great day!
Enjoy your saturday all
Just to clarify the record: yes, there was synchronized gagging by mr. fixxit and myself when the bill at DofBay arrived. It should be noted that "the bill" which included ONE pitcher of beer did not distract our brides one bit from their fourth or fifth wines and increasingly animated conversation. And we all know how much cheaper wine is at these kind of places. Not much new out here. I am just in the process of redoing the entire house and neighborhood in anticipation of Oliver's visit. Have a good one all.
It's rumored that non-verbal communication was being used (third base signs were given) by my aunt and mother to the waiter to get there wines without the menfolk knowing about it. Is that true?
Enjoy Saturday's sun everyone.
Did everyone like my political reference to "gut feeling" aka Michale Chertoffff..
what started out as a quiet saturday has turned into a whirlwind saturday as daughter jnna is taking on city hall, seems our friend KTY aka tiki hutt got a letter from the city that she has to paint her garage by august 6th. This has set Jnna in search of justice, for a business owner who only is open in the summer.
I dont believe I have ever used aka in a blog comment let alone twice..
Jnna is busy researching building codes and the mayor.
austin has tiger practice at 1, and then I believe we will be off to Harry Potter!
Go get 'em Jnna, bring down city hall.
Jff, with your mom in the immobilizer would she be able to sign???? I am quessing she just yelled, Yo, Garcon!
My day started out calm, after I woke up at 12. but then turned into petitions and e-mails being sent to our elected officials.
I also decided that I am going to campaign for the 2008 city councilman's race. Perhaps I could be a Calvin Coolidge. But, I will make my way onto the ballot for change.
So family, think long and hard about my campaign slogan because that is the first priority!
I just returned home from Austin's practice where the coach told one of his players not to hit the ball so far! Needless to say, he may be ousted from his position when I am done with the letters too!
Oliver has a new blog, but I cant comment on it as the hourglass is not moving. So I will make a note here, about how gosh darn cute he is even with the despicable vile redsux chapeau his father insists on putting on his fair little head, but given time I will rite this wrong, how much better the interlocking NY is!
Jnna is out circulating petitions, and austin is watching the Yankee game.
kind of a rainy lost sat evening..
AP, anything Mr Oliver needs??? Want to bring something needed that will fit in the car on the return trip home from the meet and greet. And what can I bring?? Other than Anastacia
This Tonawanda situation cries out for Michael Moore. Where is he when he is needed?? Nc jnn for councilperson. We need a family member--Don Creasey doesn't count; he was only by marriage--in public office. Talked to Mom and it sounds like she enjoyed her visits yesterday. With Ruth arriving at 11 am it will be a full day for her. Haven't heard any references to Canalfest. Are the northern suburb family members boycotting? Was there some past unpleasantry that has not yet surfaced? Keep up the aka's auntie, it gives this an air of mystery/
Austin and I will be making our annual trip to the Canal Fest this afternoon for the opening cermonies and lunch from Dom Polski's tent.
Enjoy your Sunday!
Canal Fest plans are in full gear! austin and Jnna are off to opening ceremonies, then lunch and signing up for the fishing contest, the water balloon toss contest, and to get the ride tickets.
At least the sun is out today!!!
come one come all to the biggest party tonawanda north tonawanda has to offer, the canal fest!
I don't know about any third base signs...I was just trying out my first base signals on the really hot guy standing behind me. Didn't seem to work as I came home with Unkie.
That's not all that bad AP. Happy Anniversary tomorrow AP & UC. I'll toast it with a cold refreshing beverage.
What a great day today.
You are so right, Jeff. Unkie was and still is, my first choice when it comes down to who I most want to go home with at the end of the night.
Love You, Big Pop! 41 years!! WOW!
Happy Anniversary!
41 years! congratualtions to both of you! It was the nicest July Wedding I ever went too!
Happy Anniversary UC & AP, 41 years, that is awesome.
And just an FYI my birthday month has started. I know, I know my birthday's not until next month, end of the month even. I just think if we start it now it'll make it a more enjoyable summer... for me.
Kill the keg party tonight... come one, come all. It could be a Holtzanniversalooza.
Had a wonderful evening at nephew's & his lovely wife's home!
Great fun, great conversation, great beer, GREAT food! Just a most enjoyable evening with most enjoyable people!
UC & AP, we raised our glass to your class!
may the next 41 be filled with love luck and happiness!
Gramma did not come to jff's as corrine was coming over, well corrine never came, and gramma is issedpay!
From the sound of the background noise on the answering machine, it seems that last nite's pilaf bash was well attended and that the flying bison did not last long. Did Ms fixxitt ever find any wine? Thanks for the good wishes. Auntie and I did go out to dinner but I must confess that they are getting less elaborate with each passing year. Used to be the Glen Park casino for dinner and dancing, now it's Applebee's for the specials with a coupon. Have a good one all.
oh goodness dad, don't admit THAT! ;)
Proposal season here in KDH-ville, and my internet is down. Dang! so I'm sitting with my laptop pinned to the window trying to pick up my neighbors signal. That's not illegal, is it? Jll, can you weigh in on that?
So nc jll headed for michigan this am. Any updates? any stories? me, golf and pinochle. Stick a fork in me.
Jill text messaged me this morning to report she did arrive in Michigan and she is having a BALL!
Is work supposed to be that fun?
Headed to the canal fest parade.
Where is Alleghany 2007?
Where is HoltzaAnniversary 1966?
Where has Adm been lately?
KDH, did you get your proposals in?
Cookie, you need to post and tell all how you made it back to WNY from Michigan via Detroit and Washington DC.
Some things that I am pondering as I wait for 1:00 when I meet cookie for lunch at the Anchor Bar.
There is the generational difference. Cookies lunching at Anchor Bar; Auntie and I on a self guided tour of Forest lawn cemetery. Films at ll.
Now I literally am 3 minutes from the anchor bar, and have been there numerous times, on diff days and at diff times I can honestly say I have never seen it like today, cookie and I ended up at Wendy's as it was double digit wait, line to main st...
Howdy all, Zach and I are back from Pittsburgh and had a great time. There was however a slight delay just outside of Erie by Harborcreek, an 18 wheeler fell over (not sure if someone pushed him or not) so traffic was being stopped. We made a u-turn and traveled back too Harborcreek exit and then took the 20 to the 79.
We ate dinner at Finnigan's Wake, great time, great food. And then looked for scalpers for what was left of the night game. Pirates lost.
The afternoon game looked at first like it was going to be rained out. Nope. After a brief tease, the sun came out and pounded down 90 dgree temps on us. Pirates lost.
Well, I'm off to a work picnic.
I have to give my nphw all of the credit in the world. How he continues on, day after day, with all of the intense work pressure that he is under, is beyond me. KUDOS NPHW !!! You are an inspiration to us all. Not a "chamber of commerce" type of day here in WNY. Stay dry.
I wonder if I can create a position in KDHRC that is like Jff's, and then take it for myself? No no, kidding aside I sometimes but not always work hard ;).
Hot and steamy down here in the ATL. Its been a little cool lately so everyone have been spoiled. Its back to normal now!
rainy gray thursday for company picnic Jff!! So sorry..
Thrillie off to McConnellburg PA. today. And not to return til tomorrow evening, so hopefully she will update all of us on her whirlwind travel and training week.
Awesome Oliver Video!!!
So gosh darn adorable!
38 shopping days left til Jeff's Birthday..
I love it when my birthday is under 40 days away. It truly is the "birthday season".
My departmental picnic was wet, yet nice, the grilled corn was wonderful. We had catered bbq burgers, baked chicken, mac salad, mmm, mmm, good.
Family first, work second.
KDH, if you create the postition, I'll do the training for you.
Yanks are 7 games back.
shhhh Jff, about the Yankees, let them sneak up into first..
Under 40 days to shop translates into only 2 pay periods for us Kaleida employees..
HOLY WOW rainstorm, I am quessing no game tonite for my winless tigers, which may be a good thing!
oh just one more thing, with the twin cities abuzz with our cultural canal fest in full bloom, my brother has a major complaint about all the influx of new business he has attracted, carny folk do not tip very well, and frankly I am kind of surprised by that!
The winless tigers, who are 14 games back from first place was given a break today thanks to mother nature.
I picked up my camper who was covered in mud head to toe and headed to Wendy's for dinner.
Happy Friday one and all!
Enjoy the day, a little dryer today and sunnier!
UC & Jff, are you two headed to the small boat harbor to test your skills against the bass masters???
Yea, I thought not.
Canal fest slowly winding down so maybe the driving patterns of the 3 square miles of Tonawanda will get back to normal!
be careful out there
Sounds like an awful lot of activity out T-wanda way. Maybe a Seneca run casino along the canal would be the answer. Nothing happening out this way. Just awaiting the arrival of the Quinceyites next week.
To answer both antie B and Jenna's question about what they could bring to the Oliver Meet & Greet---an appetizer would be greatly appreciated. Mrs. Fixit said she's bring something Mexican, an appetizer, not a person-I think. Just let me know what you'd like to bring and don't feel obligated to bring anything.
AP, I will so bring an appetizer, but also make sure Aunt Barb brings one too, because she puts candy on hers!
If my sister is bringing a mexican, then I will bring something of another ethnic origin!
mmmmmm thinking cap on...
I could bring a lil' German.
This is shaping up to be quite a party! I love the fact that my 6 week old nephew has a more booming social life than me!!
could he sandra??????
Good mornin' Holtz family, it seems like its going to be a nice one oout there today. Zach has an early morning baseball practice and then we've got a afternoon party to attend. Other than that the day is mine. Mine I tell ya.
Keep the party rockin' in Hotlanta KDH.
It does look like it may turn out to be the best day of the whole year??? Does anyone second that thought??
Lets see the agenda for the koch clan, Austin will finish up what ever he did not accomplish at canal fest, whatever that may be.
We also have bison tickets for tonite
cookie is off camping for the weekend. seems it is gary's her BF not my brother in law's birthday, we ran into them at tops yesterday, and they had a grocery cart full of chips and beer, so I am quessing a birthday party looms.
enjoy it, what it is that you choose to do today.
One week til we meet Mr Oliver! I hope he likes me!
This has to be all about ME for a minute! But, I was umpiring last night when I had to disrupt the rent a cops from their canal fest duties and call them to Niagara 1 where I ejected fans and players who refused to leave. The player who was about 6 3 and 240 was in my face yelling and screaming.
I really thought Georgie was about to scale the fence. Luckily for me the catcher for the other team was on my side.
The police came and emptied out ALL the beer and water bottles. We resumed play, with the other team winning 28-0. The pitcher for the winning team threw a no hitter.
Today I am headed down to the Canal Fest where I promised nephew Austin he could ride the rides all day. Then its the Bisons game tonight.
Sounds like an interesting ballgame Jenna. Maybe you shouldn't widen the strike zone so much :)
Have fun at the Bisons game tonight.
I'm trying to set up a day where I can take Emma and Zach to the baseball HOF and also see a minor league ballgame at night when we come home.
As we exited Elm street and found a great place to park, Cone head informed us that the game was cancelled!
We thought it was just a joke so he could have our parking spot. No, the field was flooded thanks to a pipe that burst.
So instead we went to Pizza Hut.
Just a side note, as we were driving home we all lamented at what we had "lost " due to the rainout. I sadly noted, I really wanted a beer!, Jenna mourned the loss of her dip in dots, and when we asked austin what he wanted, his reply was, all he wanted was the game! That says it all
I betcha Crash Davis did it. The Bisons's have been on that losing streak of late and he probably thought they needed a day off. Oh Crash, so silly.
you know, you can't get those dippin' dots just anywhere, either! Big goings on with the koch clan -- good job on the ejection Jnna -- love that story! Did anyone kick dirt on you or throw a base???
It was quite an interesting scene at Niagara 1. Nothing was thrown or kicked at me.
I was under the impression I was going to be hit by beer cans. Luckily the police threw them out.
Four days until the Koch clan goes on Vacation! Or what we like to call it, a longer car ride with trips through the drive thru!
What should I wear when I meet Oliver?
Man, what a day for you guys. Nc jnn in the middle of a bruhahaha. Man, what next? A 28-0 game and somebody has the nerve to challenge a call? Gotta love the human race. I am guessing that the guy who gave you the trouble is somehow related to the"individual" in Amherst who is suing everyone in sight for the injustices her 10 year old suffered. Auntie and I were at Don and Bonnie's place at Pt. Chautauqua for the day. Beautiful day with Don and I golfing and the girls shopping. Don wanted to take us out on his new 28' sailboat and ..., well, let's just say that Auntie, I am sure, will share her story of what happened to her next Sunday. I hope that you guys got your TWO free tickets after yesterday's Bison "hose-out". Nphw jff, check out the Auburn Doubledays for a game on the way back from Oneonta. Cute little park about half way between here and there. Have a good one all and enjoy the closing ceremonies at Canalfest.
Thanks Unckie never would have thought of Auburn. I was going with the obvious ones (Syracuse and Rochester) GOOD CALL. I'll check out their schedule.
Nice fireworks last night. Yeah Canalfest!
oddly enough it is Monday!
So even though this is a short week as we are heading off to Cedar Pointe, it is still a work day UGH
Kind of gray here today. Traded our saturday rain out but no rain bison tickets for tonite, so I hope it does not rain.
AP & UC, hope its OK that thrillie brings gary? Her BF not Sue's husband, I am sure she will bring him meaining Gary her husband not thrillie's BF.
My sister called, I quess we are a go to fly to San antonio, hey that rhymes.
Looking at October??? Ouch, flights are kind of pricey 303$ round trip??? Have to shop around
enjoy monday all, 6 days til Oliver, 35 days til Jff's birthday, 6 , 5 months til christmas, 7 months til Gramma's 91st birthday, 365 days til another canal fest!
umm... 'scuse me. you forgot a date in there. 12 days until MY birthday! how quickly you forget.
Of course it's OK. Jll can bring any Gary she wishes to! I just need an approximate head count so I know how much food we need. Should I put the Koch's clan down for 6?
How 'bout the jff clan?
There will be three of us attending O-Dog's (Oliver's) meat and greet (I'll have a hot dog). Sandra will be down in Orlando at the youth convention. It'll be good to see Gary again... my dad, not Jll's BF. Nah, I'm just kiddin'. Yeah Gary! Does this mean my dad gets gipped again at Christmas???
Game 1: Rangers 11 Yannkees 7 Zach goes 0-2.
Game 2 on Wednesday.
6 koch's is correct, me georgy, austin, jenna, who I believe is coming stag, jill her boyfriend who's name is gary, who by the way his parents are sue & gary, how funny is that, but they arent coming.
Dont forget to count anastacia
We were going to include Auntie's cousin Gary on the guest list for Sunday, but I think that it best to exclude him for this one time. Hoping that Sunday is a prettier day than today. Don't want my grandson to get the wrong idea about WNY weather. What's with the Yankees picking up some broad named Shelley as a DH? Has it come to that? Is she Sandy Duncan's sister? Is it true that Mike Williams is "holding out" of Bills training camp? Big O arrives tomorrow. He sent his list of demands; Must have a certain type of formula, wet ones and baby shampoo, and he apparently wants a bowl of blue only m and m's in his room. Not sure that the last one was his. Have a good one all.
so did you hear that crazy story about the minor league coach killed by a line drive during a game in little rock? so sad. Wow, talk about random!
Big week here in the ATL folks -- proposals are due on the 30th so its busy busy busy!
I wish I were going to cedar point. I could use some roller coaster action!
I propose, KDH takes some time off and comes to cedar point with us to go on the worlds fastest roller coaster, and eat salt water taffy along their boardwalk.
There and submitted by the 30TH!
Happy day all, great weather and the kids are behaving. I couldn't ask for more.
Shelley Duncan... Chris' lil' bro and Dave's son (not daughter). Nice try. He's from the long line of major league Duncans.
KDH...I got your note in the mail. That was so sweet of you! Thank you so much!
Boy its been a long time since I have posted! Slowly getting acclamated to the new job and wearing nice clothes and heels again! OUCH!
I almost was sent to Nome, Alaske this morning. 13 hour flight. That would have been interesting.
Looking forward to Sundays Olivpalooza. I will be bringing the appetizer Jenna signed up to bring, because we all know she can't cook!
My roomie left Sunday for Morrocco for 4 weeks. Apartment to myself WOOHOO!
happy wednesday one and all!!!
Not to much going on as we are just getting ready to hit the road to the amusement park! I am not a ride person, still have visions of throwing up out of the back of the station wagon coming home from crystal beach!
So the next blog you see will be the griswalds family vacation to wally world or the kochs kick sandusky!
OK AUNTIE B!! On the road for an adventure with blog to follow. Just sitting here licking the wounds administered by Arrowhead Golf Course today. Could not turn town a "freebie" but it was painful as the course thrashed our entire foursome. Nome, Alaska??? Now that would be a trip. Enjoy all.
I actually shot well at Arrowhead. I got lucky though, lucky indeed. No Arrowhead this year though, the LADD tourny is at Tri-County this year, and that means new course for Jeffy and a poor score to follow.
Zach's Yankees lost to the Rangers again tonight and that means the season is over for young Zachary.
The team was a lot of fun to watch and he has a banquet at Dunn Tire in August with them, so he'll be able to see his team again. Zach ended up with as many hits as I collected as a 10 year old. "1"... 1 hit for the entire year... like father, like son. At least he got that 1 hit.
oliver spent his first night in buffalo and is looking forward to meeting you all on sunday. He does have one request though... no mention of the yankees. Its his request, not mine.
6.5 games.
Had a "father and son" at Dunn Tire Park today and I lasted a whole five innings before the sun got the best of me. Enjoying our company immensely and looking forward to Sunday. I had to wait until I was 12 before I collected my first hit and it took a long discussion by a "group" of scorers before consensus was reached. Way to go Zach!!!
oh my goodness -- baseball games and roller coasters and all sorts of fun stuff -- anyone want to trade? It feels like finals time in college around here -- takeout boxes, papers on the floor and a startling lack of attention to personal hygiene. Damn.
The last part of k's comment reflects most of my personal life.
dear 'cuz jff. brushing aside your snide pro yankee commment... A while ago you mentioned that you had a pack n play available. Is that offer still good? if so, could it perhaps be brought on sunday?
you actually think anyone will put that baby DOWN on sunday? come on now!!
Oh don't worry Adm, you're gettin' a mess of stuff, including a lifesize blowup doll of Steve Balboni and a Mike Pagiarullo cowbell, hardly used (the cowbell, not the blowup doll).
Ditto to the hygiene comment. That was the least of my concerns.
How come Gary doesn't post? Jll's gary, not my dad. We know why he doesn't post.
Sorry to miss the fun & new baby on Sunday...will be thinking of you (and the beer) as I work a display section all day for thousands of teenagers! At least I am put up in the Peabody (ever here the duck story?). Have a great time...sending stuff along to see if A&A want for Oliver...don't let Jff forget the stuff already in his van for them...thanks & have a great time!
the Peabody duck story is really something. Ever see their "house" on the roof of the hotel? I dont' think they like it much. The hotel officers have to use a good degree of persuasion to get the ducks into the elevator, across the lobby and into the hotel.
be sure to eat at Charlie Vergo's Rendevous for Ribs -- enter through the alley -- YUM!MMMM!MMM!M
arrived home safe and sound after a wonderful mini vaca. Cedar Point, very fun, and it is the whole other end of lake erie! Stopped off in Cleveland on the way home, and did the rock and roll hall of fame, lots of minnesota twins fans sportin there gear walking around and taking lots of grieve from Indians fans I might add! Kind of funny! As a yankee fan, I enjoyed it and speaking of yankee fan, Oh Yes Mr Oliver there will be yankee talk at your meet and greet, how on godsgreenearth will you ever know the real truth about the worlds greatest baseball team if you do not hear if from me! It will be a fox news report, fair and balanced re the NY Yankees. It is only fair. Cliff Lee a bison, who wants to go???
Thanks KDH, I'll be down in Fla with Sandra on Tuesday and I'd love me some ribs.
Can't wait for the meat and greet today (I'll have a hot dog).
Mr. Fixxit, Zach, Emma, and I had a really good time last night at the SeaWolves game down in Erie, PA. They won 14-7 (pitcher's duel). Left field was 312 ft. away... so there were a few homers last night. The hi-lite of the evening was Mr. Fixxit spending $11 on dip n dots. Sweet.
11$$$ for dip n dots!!!
Where were you ralph wilson stadium!!!
I am guessing they were not for you.
How much was the beer? A 12 oz glass of bud light at CP was 6$ and worth every penny
Very excited for the meet and greet, I will be in my sunday best!
oh my GOODNESS I'm going to miss you all today~~~
We'll miss you too Kristen.
$11 for dip n dots... you did get a mini Seawolves batting helmet with it though. I'm just saying I never would have spent the money. Large Yuenglings or Blues were $4.25, well worth the money.
Next up (thanks to Unckie) is the Auburn Doubledays.
wait jff -- i may have given you bum advise there. I was thinking of the peabody in memphis. If there's another peabody in florida, my rib recommendation won't do you any good at all.
Comment #100 and I'll I have is an "Oh rats", now I have to find another rib place because KDH and her subliminal message has me thinking about ribs and only ribs. Double rats.
I'll research it for you -- just give me the name of the actual Peabody you'll be at!
KDH!!! we so missed you today!!! and it is official, Oliver is by far, the cutest baby ever!
What a wonderful family, Adam, Amy and Oliver are!
It was a great picnic funtimes were had by all!
Ditto to the Oliver cutest ever comment. Absolutely gorgeous.
Peabody in Orlando, right next to the convention center. We have a TV in the bathroom if that helps.
Was bad Gary there today???
Hope the EA Holtz's are recovering!
UGH Monday and work, gross!!!
So I am kind of excited I think Oliver did like all of us, and that is a relief!
bad gary, LOL! that moniker stuck quickly!
loved seeing everyone yesterday and catching up!
Oliver slept very well last evening as did everyone else at 1070. Lots of fun as always and thanks to everyone for their generosity. I think that today will be a "resting up" day. Have a good one all.
First off, I heard that the party was a smashing success and that everyone loooooved Mr. Oliver as much as his auntie kristen does! Props to jnna for the cell phone pic updates -- i do appreciate it!
and according to my research, these are your best rib options in orlando:
Blackwater Bar-B-Q
4718 S Orange Ave
Orlando, FL
407-888-2033
and if you don't mind travelling a little out of the city, these are supposed to be even better:
Uncles Jones bbq
1370 E Altamonte Dr
Altamonte Spgs, FL
32701-5012
Phone: (407) 260-2425
though I do still stand by my charlie vergo Memphis recommendation!
I want to know how someone so busy found time to research bbq options. Although, with K, its always about priorities.
Thank you very much for the research K, you'll never know how much I truly appreciate it.
I think we'll stay within the parameters at hit the Blackwater BBQ... oh blackwater keep on rollin, Mississippi...
I was in the Niagara River today (just got home) wading for 2.5 hours and not a catch. Rats.
Well the Quincey Holtz's are on their way back home. Must have been something in the air this morning for Auntie and me; bad case of watery eyes. DAMN POLLEN!!
awwww, we had to say good bye to our baby... how sad!
Yes the pollen would have gotten to the coldest soul saying arrevederci to that little sweety!
Even Mr Austin goes home this week too! summer must be winding down!
now how truly sad is that..
take heart family, we have the fixxitts chowder party coming up!
Pilaf in fla.,hot here, nphw rck at new address, otherwise, I am without any pithy observations. Hang in there all.
Amy if you ever need a babysitter, I will pay you to watch Oliver. What a great little boy! Even when Grandma was holding him he never made a peep.
Austin leaves Saturday, how sad is that? I know the pollen will get to me too!
Enjoy your 92 degree Thursday!
Health Dept in the nursing home for our annual survey, which translates to 13 hour work days, and lotz of stress.
but on the flip side as they are 2 months early I am now free to travel to san antonio with sister and my mother.
some observations:
will shelley hit 500 before a rod?
how secure is the seymour st bridge from tonawanda to north tonawanda?
will marv levy's speech for thurman begin with, where would you rather be than right here right now?
if its 92 outside, what will it be in my non air conditioned office?
rick rice lives on rash rd, how funny is that..
From Nash Rd. to Rash Rd. Is this some type of alphabetical order we are working in? Sash Rd. next? I know that you guys will miss Austin. He is growing into a fine young man. He even handled the simultaneous multiple orders he received from Jnna, unk grg and auntie b most effectively as you guys were leaving Sunday. is the San Antonio thing a go for sure? Have a good one all and try to stay cool. Tomorrow is the start of the H'burg-reading-state college-williamsport swing and I am hoping for cooler weather. Auntie is not much for hot game times.
