Sorry, I couldn't let Yankees Yuk reach 100 comments. Even if it's said by a cutie-pie.
What is all of this "blather" about this base ball stuff? And now, my beautiful grandson's countenance is gone, replaced by...whatever that is???? Just put up 666 and cut out the middle man.
Yankee's Yea!!!! mmm profound, not sure about that, I still think AP's flocking creation was the absolute best! And that quote was Walt Whitman, but thanks for the kudos anywhoo.. Jff, too bad you could not get the picture up of the rookies, who had to travel to the away game dressed as the wizard of oz characters Joba, was the cowardly lion shelly, was the scare crow Ian Kennedy, dorothy phillip Hughes, was the tin man. sorry OC, I will pick you up some San Antonio spurs duds, the best team in the NBA that no one cares about!
Hello Family...I am currently in Denver. what a beautiful city!!!!!! Driving in flat land and right in front of you are the Rockies. Gorgeous here! Te city is thrving, brand new buildings and condos everywhere I look!
Making a trip to Red Sox Nation on Friday...thankfully it will be in and out for that one!
thriving city, new buidings, etc, sorry nc jll, they lied to you, you were actually coming into Buffalo via the 33.And They should have all been dressed as Dorothy.
Hope all survived the thunder storm last evening. did everyone notice it was dark at 7:40PM??? Did everyone notice that Bruny is now a Walmart greeter?? Kei Igawa was also a flying monkey, quite apropo, dont ya think? Heard from thrillie last evening, she was looking for something to pass the time, but the musuem was closed, the zoo was closed, thankfully the hotel had a bar, you know what they say, idle hands the devils work! so Matthew Barnaby is doing the color commentary tonite for the Sabres??? I dont think I like him? Got an email from Cousin Pat, they are looking forward to us coming, and we are going to a Picnic/Concert Saturday evening at the town square, how fun does that sound! enjoy wed...
let's go Braves! i can't quite manage the math (perhaps my dad could help me with the algebra?) but they aren't out of it yet!
Are you going to see Joel Osteen's church auntie b? Wow, he's wicked cool. I watch him on the TV all the time to get pointers on giving talks. oh, and the religious parts too.
KDH, no it was not him. It was a name I did not rcognize. some author, Jff, do you know who your mom was talking about??? But KDH, dont ya think the puffy tacos sounded good???
Not sure of the guy's name but Sandra listens to him every now and then too. I got wrapped up in Benny Hinn last night. He's quite the charasmatic chap.
We survived the thunder storm last night, nothing to report.
Charisma? I think you meant Benny Hill. Now he had charisma.Atlanta? Baseball? Is it still baseball season? I haven't been watching. When is jll going to Tampa, America's city? Algebra officially ends tomorrow after only four weeks. This is the first Sept. in over 30 years that I haven't missed at least one school day due to "illness"
Benny Hill! Ya gotta love Benny Hill and his lil' sidekick (Benny used to slap his head). What about Dave Allen at Large? Funny, funny show. He was missing part of his finger, but could still smoke and drink with the best of them.
Tampa's America's team? Only 7 people in the world think that. And four of them wear drool buckets. Please tell me you're not one of them?
so K, just to let YOU know, Atlanta has a 2.7% chance to make the playoffs. I check out coolstandings.com every day. good site. The sox have a 94.8% chance to win the division, The bills have a .6% chance to make the playoffs, and the sabres have a 100% chance to suck this year.
How can you say that about the Sabres?? They have already played in Fargo and will be playing outdoors on Jan. 1. What else is there? I can't believe the clowns that they are floating to take Lorentz place. And yes, Hill's Angels. Ah, mammaries, sweet mammaries. oops, mispelling there.
Adm, Adm, the Sabres are going to be really good this year. They're just playing a bunch of kids right now (that in due time will be headed back to Rochester). No big deal. Buck up, little camper, everything's going to be alright.
We had an enjoyable evening last night (with Jnna and Auntie B) on GI at The Brick Oven, spending the night (under protection of an awning) on the patio, good food and cold beer, what else can you ask for?
happy rainy thursday. Most enjoyable evening with nph and his lovely wife. I think it was a disney pre trip meeting that I really was not privy to but horned in on anywhoo. .6% for the bills, how does that translate into the season, if everyother team folds, we have a chance??? Was never very good at translating math.. The NY Post claims the Jets are afraid of the overdue bills! enjoy the day
Made it back to Buffalo in one piece. Spent the flight from Chicago to Buffalo, dodging Gerber baby food. The young mother sitting next to me with her 2 kids under the age of 2 were just so "adorable" to listen to on the 1 1/2 hour flight.
I am headed to Boston tomorrow. In by 8:30am out by 5pm. I told the OSHA rep., judging by his accent a Boston native, that if he has a Red Sox sticker on his hard hat the inspection is off.
What ever you do, don't scream "John Tucker is a god" out of your car window in downtown Boston. They hate that. Of course that was many, many years ago I did that, so maybe, just maybe, they've forgotten.
Glad to hear that the gals got off to Texas OK. Auntie and I are in Quincy babysitting while Oliver's mom and dad are off to a wedding. Somebody said that baseball is still going on. Is that true? Something about the Yankees NOT winning a division title? I may have to start watching tv again.
I wonder what its like to be a Mets fan this morning (hey Red Sox fans, any insight)? It has to feel like their world has just collapsed. Zach has 1 week left of fall baseball. Hopefully the nice weather continues. He's having fun.
Word came back Sunday morning that Grandma was doing the Texas 2 step at a concert on Saturday night in San Antonio. Seems at 8:30am (Central time?) she was still sleeping off what sounded like a great first night in Texas.
KDH...Did you watch the season finale of Rock of Love??? I was not expecting that! You know I love NY season 2 starts next Monday?!?!?!
As you can see I made it back safely from Red Sox Nation!!! My mother told me that the Yankee Spirit would protect me in Enemy Territory and it surely did even after I saw a License Plate that said "GAME 7"!
Sounds as if all is going well in the Lone Star State. Still on Oliver sitting duty. Went to a farm for pumpkins and apples yesterday. He had some trouble gumming a McIntosh, but enjoyed the Bills victory. Take care all.
The girls come home today! I have to be at the BNIA at 2:30. Gram had a blast. Aunt Sue was the winner at poker last night and they were treated to a gourmet dinner of shrimp, lobster, salad, and wine. Oh yeah, grandma had a ham sandwich with chips.
Back from Quincy and the texas travellers will be back today in time for the beginning of baseball playoffs. Looking forward to sitting down this afternoon with an adult beverage and the tv tuned in to TBS. Have a good one all
WOW! That sounds like one great dinner...The ham sandwich I mean, not the lobster. Who would ever choose lobster over good ol' American deli ham?!?!?!?!?
I dropped the girls off at there proper destinations this evening. Gram was very unhappy her dinner tonight consisted of bran flakes. Both Aunt Sue and Mom were happy to be home.
In Aunt Sue's defense, she could not answer her cell phone that my frantic mother kept calling. Her cell phone was packed away in her luggage. The great people at Northwest were not sure what was ringing from the luggage. After the TSA agents scanned the bag they noticed it in fact was just a Sprint cell phone.
Rule 1 of cellphones: When travelling pack in suitcase. That way if lost, airline is responsible for replacement. Rule 2: Keep turned off at all times to prevent unwanted usage which only drives up cost of operation.
BLAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So here I am at back at work. Ouch that stings! Of course a blog is looming. And the "real" story of why the plane had to be held will be told. I was snoring and drooling at 9PM, I confess! Just to let all know, we did get home safe and sound. More info to follow, I now must move all the paper from one side of my desk to the other!
Zach's fall ball is officially over... time to put away the spikes (not that he'll be able to wear them next season) and cup (we'll wash that) and time to concentrate on MLB playoffs. Best time of the year. Sabres on Friday, Bills on MNF, and the Yankees in the playoffs. It's good to be me. AND, what's up with 80 degree weather in Buffalo... definitely the Miami of the north.
sigh, it is friday, a gloomy friday in my yankee world, but we will re group today, as AP takes the mound, to get us on the right track! Did everyone see that Chris Drury scored the go ahead goal for the rangers? what a dagger in the heart that is! formulating my new blog, genius takes time people. suppose to be a beautiful weekend in WNY, enjoy all and go Yankees!
Fargo, we have missed you terribly! so sorry about illness hitting your family! Hope the road to recovery is ahead. Congrats on your new grandchild! The world does not have enough Holtz's! Welcome! Of course it is hard to root against the Indians, but sorry it is the YANKEES!!! GO YANKEES! JOBA!! SHELLY!!!
Hey Fargo, congrats on the good news and sorry about the bad.The grandparent thing is pretty cool I must admit. Stay healthy out there and enjoy the good weather as long as it lasts.
Looks like the Sabres won't be going 10 and 0 out the gate this year. Is there any way to ship a few billion midges to NYC?. Two?? K-Rods? Just Manny being Manny? Gee, that is a lot of question marks isn't it?? I haven't felt this good in a very long time. No question mark there. To paraphrase my nephew, "it is good to be me", at least for today.
I guess my 2-1 Sabre prediction was WAY OFF! Thank you Adam for being a supportive family member by not mentioning the thing that must not be mentioned. Off to Oktoberfest tonight in Ellicotville. This should be pretty interesting!
You don't suppose that this year's Sabre start will be the Yang to last year's Ying do you? Not a "chamber of commerce day" weather wise for all of the fans from the Big D who have travelled up here to follow their "boys". Fortunately I can't envision Wade jumping up and down on a box of Trent Edwards flakes. Is Roger Clemens really 54 or am I just a bit dyslexic? Have a good one all.
Joba!!! Great Yankees game last night, did everyone enjoy it as much as me?
Sandra's off to Denver leaving me in trust with the nnippers. Since I had some extra free time, I decided to take today off. I think we'll go to the zoo today and get soome lunch. It's all about the food.
Happy Columbus Day! So I attempted to create a new blog, HOWEVER, my pictures could not be downloaded??? So I have to transfer to a disc. sorry had high hopes to get it up and running. we will get a new blog up and running, pinky swear. so is everyone excited about the Monday nite crew in town?? And how about Fargo coming back to the fold??? How exciting is that! everyone enjoy the day... I have my fingers, toes and eyes crossed!!!
That was, without a doubt, the most painful sporting event that I have witnessed since the music city miracle. Poor ralph. Poor Bills fans. I'm too distraught to teach today. Videos it is!
That had to be the worst ending since "wide right". It's painful to be a Bills fan, and of all teams to lose to. It has me so upset that it makes it difficult to enjoy what I should be enjoying immensely. Oh well.
flags should be at half staff! schools should be closed! Grief counseling should be available to all that need it! It is without a doubt the worst day after sports EVER however I did win 75$, so the dagger in my heart is a dull blade. And my BELOVED YANKEES :( A pitching staff in disarray til the bitter end... All I can hope for is that a piano falls on becketts head and youkalisp returns to his carny job. Do I sound bitter??? Oh believe me I am!!!!
And to think I stayed up WAY past my bedtime to watch the Bills game! I had a sliver of hope that I was witnessing something magical and then I was brought back into the reality that this is Buffalo.
So besides having to undergo attacks from anonymous patrons about being Buffalo, we still have to submit to a yankees blog? Why not the Devil Rays? Or any other team whose season is over? Can't this family just unite and support the team that is still playing and is beloved by some of their family members? I know that's what I would do if the situation were reversed and the Red Socks had been eliminated. Let's just link arms.....

That Auntie B quote just may be the most profound thing that has appeared here in two years.

LOL!!! I loved Benny Hill, with his little spectacles, and his guilty grin.
oh yeah -- antie b, good food is its own special type of spiritual enlightenment!
I like Captain Scuttle, myself.
Benny Hill! Ya gotta love Benny Hill and his lil' sidekick (Benny used to slap his head). What about Dave Allen at Large? Funny, funny show. He was missing part of his finger, but could still smoke and drink with the best of them.

Hmmmm... no activity on a Friday. Everyone must have taken the day.
Well, it's Friday after work and I'm already in weekend mode. Playstation with Zach and a beer. Enjoy the weekend all.
'sho is quiet around these parts. Great yankee game tonight, eh?
That one stung a ittle... no big though, doesn't make a difference in the playoff world.
Sooooo... what's everyone doing on this Saturday. Me, I thinks I'll just sits and watch the world go 'round today.
I dropped the girls off at the airport this AM. They are on there way to Texas. Bachelor U.Gary is well on his way to planning his evening.
Gram was up at 3 am because that's when she thought she was getting picked up.
Since Ma is gone and no one to cook for me and Jorge, we will order pizza and wings all week!
Could it be? The bills first win? It might perhaps.
JP WHO?
Way to go Bills!!!!!! Playoffs here we come. We LUV Trent!!
The mets out of the playoff hunt? The bills won a game! and beautiful weather! Is this a dream?
Super Bowl... Super Bowl... Super Bowl!!!
any word from San Antonio??
I talked to Gram as she was just sitting down to play left, right, center. She is having the time of her life she said.
A blog will follow I am sure!
Who wants to sign up for the 2nd year annivarsary blog?
I wonder what its like to be a Mets fan this morning (hey Red Sox fans, any insight)? It has to feel like their world has just collapsed.
Zach has 1 week left of fall baseball. Hopefully the nice weather continues. He's having fun.

Well we can't go a day without a post. I will have none of that!
Can you believe this weather in Buffalo? 80 degrees. Compared to last October I guess were getting our payback!
I will post for my mom. She would say:
AH Tuesday is here. The dreaded Tuesday. I am at work. Have a good day family. Or something to that effect.
A play in game that even went into extra innings. And Isiah Thomas guilty. ESPN is having a field day.
Enjoy your day everyone! It's Wednesday
Where's Sue? Anyone seen Sue?
Ya she almost missed the flight this morning!
Back to back dingers for the Phillies to make it close... what a game! I love playoff baseball.
What IS up with my mom? I'll need to hear the full story on that one.
Apparently Thrifty Car Rental is not the way to go in San Antonio. Film at ll???
It's after 9PM and I still don't know the WHOLE story... rumor has it there was a taxi driver in the grassy knoll just lurking.
Just to let all know, we did get home safe and sound.
More info to follow, I now must move all the paper from one side of my desk to the other!
oh my goodness -- I'm at the edge of my seat! it sounds like such adventures!!
Do we have Mom in coonskin cap part two? Can't wait.
I can't wait to hear the unbridled version of "the lost lass". Please, please, we need a blog.
Zach's fall ball is officially over... time to put away the spikes (not that he'll be able to wear them next season) and cup (we'll wash that) and time to concentrate on MLB playoffs. formulating my new blog, genius takes time people.
suppose to be a beautiful weekend in WNY, enjoy all and go Yankees!
Aunt Patty's pitching for the spankme's tonight?
In other news...
tonight, tonight, hot damn it starts tonight!!!
The boston globe has predicted that the sabres will finish in 10th place this year. out of the playoffs. I'm cancelling my subscription!
How can ANY true WNYer NOT love the Indians. All of those guys came thru here. If only Jeff Manto were still playing.
Now Peerless Price is out for the season too?!?!?! Not looking good for the Bills.
Yeh, I just read Peerlice is out for the season, neck surgery. That's too bad ... and typical at the same time.
I do like the Indians. BUT, come on, how can I root against the Yanks.
Obviously there is a miisprrint in the Boston Globe, they meant to say that their Bruins are finishing in 10th. Idiots!
Joba!!!
Tonight... GO SABRES!!!
Hello my second favorite Holtz family. It has been to long since we have been in touch. I am a grandmother, again.
Illness came over our family a few months ago. So were just trying to recover.
I hope this comment finds everyone in good health.
Glad to hear from you Fargo, take care of yourself and I wish your your family the best.
What happened last night? I had this awful dream that the Sabres and the Yankees both lost. Well, back to reality somehow.
I'm off to make some coffee and get some donuts. That'll make me feel better. Enjoy the day today, it's going to be a nice one.
To paraphrase my nephew, "it is good to be me", at least for today.
tough night for the blue and gold. lets hope they can rebound tonight. see how I haven't mentioned anything baseball related???
The Adam st. group is a bit quiet this AM. Must be that Auntie B. is still jet=lagged, or working on a new blog.
Both mom and I went to the hair salon to get pampered.
I thought they said it wasn't going to rain?
I guess my 2-1 Sabre prediction was WAY OFF!
Thank you Adam for being a supportive family member by not mentioning the thing that must not be mentioned.
Off to Oktoberfest tonight in Ellicotville. This should be pretty interesting!
isn't oktoberfest in september?
Well, I finally got the whole story of "Lost in San Antonio, the Sue Rice Story". I'm actually sorry I asked, it took up the whole evening telling it.
Have a good one all.
we need a new blog people! Come on, quit stalling and get a san antonio blog up in this mix...
Half way there. Come on INDIANS!!
Joba!!!
Great Yankees game last night, did everyone enjoy it as much as me?
Sandra's off to Denver leaving me in trust with the nnippers. Since I had some extra free time, I decided to take today off. I think we'll go to the zoo today and get soome lunch. It's all about the food.
Enjoy the day.
GO YANKEES!!!
GO BILLS!!!
What is with Mike Tirico saying this is Buffalo's first sellout this year. Hello, who gets him that info. Interns?
I can't even discuss the Bills game! WHAT HAPPENED THERE? If only football was 3 quarters we would have won!
It is without a doubt the worst day after sports EVER
however I did win 75$, so the dagger in my heart is a dull blade.
And my BELOVED YANKEES :(
A pitching staff in disarray til the bitter end...
WHAT WAS THAT SOUND?
OH IT IS EVERYONE JUMPING OFF THE PEACE BRIDGE, YOU KNOW THE ONE BUFFALO HAS BEEN REDESIGNING FOR YEARS.
GREAT WIN 'BOYS!
Wow, seems like I turned off the TV at the right time, where everybody I wanted to win had done so or was about to.
Or so it seemed! Oh Buffalo!
the only thing that will cheer me up is a san antonio blog.
That's just sad Unkie.
