read my shirt!

Dad told me I shouldn't post this picture that I took of myself, but I gotta be me! There's no way that cousin jff would post over cute little ol' me, is there? Nah, he wouldn't.

It is not nice to use your children for personal gain! Ha!
I was at church today for a funeral & checked my mailbox...someone left Jff a gift...I left it there for him...I'm sure he'll let you know what it is...

Poor Oliver, being subjected to his father's unnatural disdain for the Yankee's. Even the look on his poor little face says it all, it shock, just plain shock!
Took Gramma out shopping this AM, she got some new shoes for our San Antonio trip, and then she wanted me to help her find a new bra, I drew the line with that one, my sister can do it
Gorgeous day in WNY!
Go Bills
Go Yankees
Go Notre Dame or Penn State, doesnt matter really

Anonymous said...

Nah, I won't post Oliver.

... you got limited time though.

Anonymous said...

Over Oliver that is.

Anonymous said...

Now THAT is a grandson for you!! Not a good month to be a Michigan fan. UB goes to Penn st. next week? I guess that they had best enjoy the euphoria attached to beating up on Bill Cosby's alma mater. Go Bills!!

Anonymous said...

Go Bills! The spread is +3 for Buffalo. I am pretty sure I would take that bet!

Poor Oliver!!!

Anonymous said...

Lets all say it togother,
Marshawn Lynch, Marshawn Lynch, Marshawn Lyanch!

Anonymous said...

GO FIGURE!

Anonymous said...

i hate to throw him under the bus, but that ending was my father's fault. "If the bills hold on..."

famous last words.

Anonymous said...

RATS!!!

Anonymous said...

It's my fault. I said it. I should know better by now. There is no excuse for me.

Anonymous said...

It might be my fault, in the third quarter, after Lynch scored I yelled we're going to the Super Bowl. My bad.

Anonymous said...

Monday, Monday Monday. What else can you say?
A bills loss, an ugly bills loss no less, makes for an ugly monday
Anything going on with anyone?
Yea me neither.
Enjoy the next 24

Anonymous said...

Off to McConnellsburg, PA for 3 days. Last time I was there, I was taken to the County Fair, complete with sheep judging and demolition derby. I wonder what I am in store for this trip.

Anonymous said...

Rainy Tuesday, double UGH!
So the bills loss does not even seem that impt anymore. As someone who goes to MFG at least twice a week, I am here to tell you what a media circus! The octogenarian that runs the front desk has it under control though!
so a 1-0 sox loss, mmm does the downward spiral begin just as the Yankees come to town????
I am fedexing amy an "e" and an "a" to change Yankees Yuk to Yankees Yea!
Enjoy the rainy day, and why isnt sportscenter on any more at 6AM? Two mornings in a row it has been a replay of college football?
Throws my whole schedule off!

Anonymous said...

Totally agreed auntie b. I had to watch a SOCCER game at 6 am to get the scores from last nite. And regarding the pennant race, I dare not even mention that I worked out the socks magic number, but despite that it is pretty obvious that both teams will be going to the postseason with the ineptness of the other "contenders". Save your fedex money. My grandson will NOT be won over to the darkside.

Anonymous said...

soccer on BOTH espn's this morning. Did see that somehow the socks made a miraculous comeback last nite. Wow!!

Anonymous said...

Happy Wed! Just a few things. Heard from thrillie, she has not found russell crowe in Baltimore, as he is filiming a movie there, but she did report that it was foggy and rainy in Mcconnellsburg, PA.
Gossip from Gates, is that Kevin is moving his arms and legs on command, so everyone is very excited!
Alas, still no sportscenter, yes it was soccer, did not stay long enough to see if it was womans or mens, but does it really matter?
I think I am writting a letter about that programming change.
And what is up with New England Cheating??? Why cant we cheat and win???
enjoy the day all, it is here for us!

Anonymous said...

I hope everyone survived the windy night last night. I tried to have a beer out on the deck and enjoy the rain and wind, but it was just too much for me.

How can TBay keep on giving up 16 runs a game. Incredible. If you score 10 you should win.

Anonymous said...

The D-Rays: America's team in soooo many ways. Looks like real football weather this weekend. brrr. nice to know that auntie will be with kristen and her sisters in sunny Orlando. Plus, the San Antonio group, and the pilafs still jet-lagged after their summer. What about ME??? Let's have a pity party for me. Today was exponent day. Did you all remember that anything raised to the power of 0 is = 1?? Me neither. Does anyone out there in the real world care that any number raised to the power of 0 is 1? Thank God no one asked why

Anonymous said...

What does raised to the power mean? Is that like when Steinbrenner made Jeter captain?
Was at Gates this afternoon, and ESPN was there. Tried to get on camera, but no luck. All I need is one big break I tell you and I am on my way!

Anonymous said...

We can throw a pity party at the Pilaf Estate. We love parties. Hamburgers, hot dogs, beer, and then after counting 1,2,3,... we all say "poor baby"! Who's up for that?

Anonymous said...

Count me in!

Anonymous said...

Well someone's excited.

Joba!!!

Anonymous said...

A party, I love a party. that is what this world needs more parties!
Well here it is Thursday, and I am just counting down to the weekend.
Busy planning our trip to San Antonio, my sister all ready informed me that she is partially packed, as her thermal's are ironed and folded. Thermal's??
oh well..
We do have our blog anniversary coming up/along with a PP for UC, sounds like it could be quite an event!
count the koch's in, I will bring the corn!

Anonymous said...

With an outpouring of sympathy like that, what else could a man ask for? Did I hear correctly that the socks stole another one last nite? Thermals in San Antonio? Count me in for anything this weekend. I am batching it!

Anonymous said...

I'm not sure we want to see you batch. Sounds painful and quite involving.

Come on let's get this pity party going. Maybe I should mention it to Sandra. Nahhhhh...

I have so many negative and disgusting things to say about the Sawks... But, I won't, because this is a nice, uplifting, family blog. AND as a twenty six time fan rootin' Yankee champion (6 that I've seen in my lifetime), I'm better than that.

Joba!!!

Anonymous said...

Well, it is Friday. Taaa Dahh!!!
Have huge plans for the weekend, yup lots going on, hope I can get it all done.. yea who am I kidding it will be a veg out weekend from a "it has taken its toll week"
Should be a great weekend of BB and football. Lets hope the gap is closed for the AL east, with the good guys coming away with a sweep! And by the good guys we all know who I mean, The NY YANKEES!
Have not gotten a day and time for the rices, Blog Anniversary/ PP for UC party?? Is it in the mail?
Have a meeting at Gates today, I will tell Marv we send our best and to let JP throw the ball more.
Just an FYI, security intervenes, when anyone from the bills comes into the hospital, so you can not get autographs or chat with them, KILJOYS!
Well enjoy our sunny friday, as rain and cooler winds are coming

Anonymous said...

Fortunately there are a number of commercial creams out there which take care of the batching problem. I know that there have been plenty of pity patti parties, mostly because of who she is married to, but I am still awaiting the particulars of mine. I know that you are all curious, and the week was finished with a spectacular class on commutative, associative and distributive properties. The classes walked out buzzing. All in all, I would rather have been in McConnelsburgville pa. anyone making chowder this weekend?

Anonymous said...

Back from McConnellsburg everyone. Thankfully I did not have the canary yellow PT cruiser as my rental. I told the guy from Thrifty I NEVER want that car again!
All in all it was an uneventful trip. Flights were on time and there was no farm animal petting zoo to go to.

Anonymous said...

There's very few things in life better than a petting zoo... that's where Sandra and I met... or some girlfriend from the 80's, I can't remember.

Sandra and I are discussing Pity Party plans... it's a go. We just need a date.

Any suggestions? We have a lot of free Saturdays coming up.

Anonymous said...

My boss just gave me his 2 club level seats to next Friday's Pre-Season Sabre Game Vs. Columbus!!!
It's good to be ME!

Anonymous said...

I'll go.

Anyway... You'll love this, today for work I started at 9AM at North Forest and had breakfast, then we went to Niagara Falls and took a trolley ride tour through the park, then over to the Red Coach Inn for lunch (I had a steak sandwich), followed by a Maid of the Mist boat ride. It's good to be me.

Anonymous said...

I WANT TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Last nite made me physically ill. Go Bulls/Bills!!!

Anonymous said...

Went to a fundraiser/dinner last night for my office. Jill Kelly spoke (as in Jim) & was fantastic. She spoke from the heart & was a natural--good night...would have only been better if we had won the autograph pic of her hubby...

Anonymous said...

Happy saturday one and all! Does the sun seem a little brighter today, does the sky seem a little bluer??? Ah the day after a Yankee win is always just a little better!
GO YANKEES!
mmm my brother is not well, are you eating the breakfast burritto again from mighty taco? Thought you were warned about that!
Enjoy your day, and saturday is fine for a party, how about next saturday????

Anonymous said...

Next Saturday sounds great.

Michigan!!!

Anonymous said...

Michigan redeemed itself. UB needs to schedule Notre Dame, fast. And all is well in God's universe as the American League is back to where it was on Thursday. I only wish that Posada wasn't a Yankee. He would be my favorite player otherwise. What a HIT he took.

Anonymous said...

Hip Hip GORGE!!!!!
GO YANKEES!!!!
Bills game, not sure if I have the couraget to watch.

Anonymous said...

Blech!!! What a game today.
UB needs to schedule the Bills quick.

Jorge...

Anonymous said...

I can't complain about the game. I walked away 50 bucks richer.

Anonymous said...

It's good to be you.

Anonymous said...

Good Jnn, I'm glad that something good happened to someone. I HATE Derek Jeter.

Anonymous said...

what a horrible waste of a sports day. yanks win, sox lose, bills lose, pats win. Thats a quintella of ugliness. why am I a sports fan?

Anonymous said...

Its Monday, let me spit in my hands and clap them together before I begin my work day!
what is up with that!
Ahhh seriously big fat poppyseedhead is a missing rung on the evolutionary ladder, dont ya think. And dingleberry whining about his foot, PUHLEEZE!
Lets all chant it together, DEREK JETER!!!!!
mmm lets see, bills lose and lose UGLY.
the cheaters won, so I quess they didnt need to cheat after all?
Maybe bellinchuck can buy a new sweatshirt complete with sleeves with his new contract?
And OJ is in jail? sigh somethings never change
Its monday and I have nothing else to add about that

Anonymous said...

Derek Jeter!!!

Bills?
Ummmm... JP?

Anonymous said...

So who was that unknown for the Browns who threw for about 800 yds and 4 or 5 td's. Must be the offensive coordinator. Can we hire him? How come we haven't had a good coordinator since Jim Kelly left? Got to give the Evil empire their due. The socks have had two chances to bury them for good and have gone 1 and 5. All we can do is pull for Baltimore, America's team, to continue their mastery of the skanks.

Anonymous said...

Now Baltimore is America's team? Okay, I know what I'm getting for the pirate game for Christmas for Unkie. "An anyone but the Yankees t-shirt".
And I'll counter with my 26 championships t-shirt... count 'em.

Zach lost again tonight, but went 1-3 with a single. The sun is droppin' fast and its gettin' cold.

Anonymous said...

The collar is getting a bit tighter. I don't like the way that both the Mets and Skanks are moving. What happened to my O's last nite?

Anonymous said...

happy tuesday one and all!
3 1/2 can we say 2 1/2!!!
So what is on everyones agenda this week??
who is getting there icebowl tickets today, they go on sale at 10AM. Tickets as low as 20$
Maybe gramma would like that for christmas??
enjoy the day all!
LETS GO YANKEES!!!

Anonymous said...

I am getting my Jan. 1st tiks to the outdoor sabre game!

Anonymous said...

Thats my girl!

Anonymous said...

My Icebowl tiks have officially been bought! Section 255!

Anonymous said...

jll how'd you do that?? I went online at 10:03 and got NOTHING -- sold out. Dang!!!

Anonymous said...

KDH...I can not take credit for the pruchasing of tiks. A diligent friend hovered over her computer waiting to buy them.
From what I hear they are already being sold on Ebay, some being priced at $500!
Your best bet would be to buy them off stubhub or something. The newspaper said a large chunk of them have been set aside for season ticket holders. So I bet a lot of them are going to be re-sold. How can you not go to this game?!?!?!?!

Anonymous said...

$20? Sold out?? Dang, there goes my pirate gift. Back to lint brushes.

Anonymous said...

Sold out at 10:07. Single seats at 10:05, incredible.
I'm going to keep on trying.

Who doesn't like lint brushes?

What a great day today. It would be better if the Yanks win again toonight.

Anonymous said...

Well I didn't get my icebowl tickets. But, I did manage to get my lint brushes!

Tried at 10:04 am and they told me it was sold out. MAYBE MY SISSY GOT THEM FOR ME FOR CHRISTMAS/BIRTHDAY!

Anonymous said...

What an awesome night last night, maybe one of my favorites. The BlowSux lose to my fantasy pitcher (Burnett) and the Yanks cream the Orioles (with Jeter-god leading the way). Now it's down to 2.5 games, is the noose getting a little tight, Blowston? 1978... 1978... 1978...

Joba!!!

Anonymous said...

For me, baseball season came to an official end last nite with the AAA championship. From now on, my only focus is women's soccer, the UB Bulls and the next OJ trial.

Anonymous said...

Good Morning family! Sigh smell that air, hear the birds sing, great day to be alive, as the mets continue to self destruct and the beanniebabies from beantown continue to assist my new york yankees in their quest for the AL East. Did you know if Detroit sweeps the remainder of there games and the sux go 2-8, they are tied for the wild card??? Now wouldnt that be poetic justice!
It was a good thing terri franncona warmed up pabblebon last nite, so gagme could blow the game!
ahhh sometimes things do work out.
UC, there is a coupon in the paper this week, if you buy one UB Bulls ticket you get one free, jumping on the bandwagon at the right time, and you can save some money!
mmm its 2 1/2 today, and Holiday on the mound tonite, could it be 1 1/2 tomorrow??? 10 games left and the race to the finish line begins!

Anonymous said...

My Yankee Calendar that hangs over my desk has the Captain, Mr Derek Jeter as Mr September. And Randy Johnson as Mr October UGH
The question for this month is:
What year did Mickey Mantle win his lone gold glove award??
answer tomorrow AM

Anonymous said...

AWANA Night!!!...don't you just love the beginning of new seasons?!?!

Anonymous said...

How about the US women's soccer?? I am looking for them to make us proud in the quarterfinals against the Brits. USA!! USA!! Let's hear it for the USA and the world's number one game, soccer. None of the other "so called sports" really matter, do they? Can't wait for tomorrow's game.

Anonymous said...

I'm not sure which is worse... waking up to ESPN's coverage of women's soccer or having a big-toe hangnail removed by your loving, yet sadistic father (who always seems to have needle-nose pliers on him). We may have to ask Rck, "the quiet one" his opinion, since he's experienced both.

I didn't get Sabres "Icebowl" tickets, but I'm going to UB's home opener against Baylor this Saturday. Anyone up for tailgating?

GO YANKEES!!!

Anonymous said...

Happy Thursday Family, and in the Kaleida world happy pay day!
To say I have a grin on my face is an understatement!
I am feeling 22, is Jimmy Carter president? Who is running out and getting the new peaches n herb album? Yes, folks it is 1978! Deja Vu, grab your leisure suits and afro picks and head out to catch a bee gees concert!
Nothing puts a bigger smile on my face than a yankee win and sux loss!
Jff, where are you tailgating, on Pickford??
Why would you let your dad come any where near you with a sharp tool?
Enjoy the day, it should be a jimdandy

Anonymous said...

Caught a great curling match rerun on CBLT last nite. What an evening! I would recommend it most heartily to all. It has it all--drama, pathos, edge of your seat excitement.

Anonymous said...

Party starts at Pickford at 4PM and continues at UB in front of the Pepsi Ctr after that... UB Bulls, way better than a curling match. Way better.

I can't wait until the next Yankee game, I refuse to leave this seat until tomorrow night's game.

Wait, Sandra just called me, I think she wants me... See ya.

Anonymous said...

Happy Friday, to one and all..
Sigh can you believe we made it to friday. It was touch and go for awhile, but here we are.
Hockey game tonite! thats exciting, Yankee game tonite, even more exciting...
And its friday..
My mother called me yesterday, she wanted to go to the bank and tops so I left work, go to pick her up and she looks like the last rose of summer, she did 2 loads of wash and cleaned her bedroom, so she was spent! So I was sent on the errands! And she was given strict instructions to rest up! I told her I was not pushing her through the Alamo, on a gurney! too funny
enjoy our record breaking weather day
GO YANKEES!

Anonymous said...

What a boring night yesterday! No Yankees to root for and no Boston to BOO for!
Thankfully it's friday...been looking forward to the culmination of this week since Monday! Club Seats tonight at the Sabre preseason game. Tomorrow night a wedding with open bar!

Heading to Denver, CO next week Tuesday. And I have something brewing in Boston, that may require a trip to Red Sox Nation. BLAH!

Gary (my BF) had an interesting night at work yesterday. He attempted to stop a shoplifter who pulled a knife on him. Shoplifter bolts onto Elmwood Ave. stops traffic, jumps head first into the window of a car. And forces the woman to drive. Suspect still on the loose. Might be the dumbest criminal ever because he left his own vehicle running in the Depot parking lot.

Anonymous said...

Jll, you have the BEST stories! and I've been meaning to thank you for your recommendation to "rock of love" -- its my new favorite!

Speaking of dumb criminals, what is wtih the chick in Boston who showed up at the airport with "art" that looked like a bomb strapped to her chest? What a BAD idea -- and boy was it tough listening to the news report with the logan airport official saying "ahhhhhht" over and over again. Wowza!

Let's go braves! 5 game winning streak!

Anonymous said...

KDH...I am so glad you gave Rock of Love a chance! What did you think of Lacey??? Personally, I am glad she is off the show. She was little too crazy for me! Did you know Brandi M. is originally from Buffalo? Her nickname is "BJ" Brandy. And from what I hear, its a fairly accurate nickname.

Just so everyone can rest easy...the 60 year old shoplifter/kidnapper/carjacker has been arrested. Check out buffalonews.com for the whole story.

Anonymous said...

I never dated any girls with nicknames like that...

Anonymous said...

Jff, LOL!!!!

Anonymous said...

Archery today on Versus, plus the UB-Baylor game. What could POSSIBLY be better than the sports smorgy that we have this weekend. May even watch the Bills. I guess that covers all of the big sports. No NBA yet? Sabres? All of the fights and penalties must have maximized the amount of time that nc jll had in the suite w/food/beverages. always a good thing.

Anonymous said...

USA v England in Women's soccer... how could you not mention that?

Charles Adam Holtz said...

boy is it nice to return to the blog, even if it is for just one day. good night last night. Great night. Jll, read all about Gary's(your bf) exploits in the buffalo news. seriously, the most exciting stuff happens to you.

Anonymous said...

Looking for an update on the UB game???
anyone have any news??

Anonymous said...

Tailgating was fun.

We enjoyed the game and UB played with them for the first half. In the second half Baylor started with the ball and scored on their first two possesions and then pulled away. We left with 7 minutes to go in the game. It was a beautiful night, last night.

Anonymous said...

How about that women's soccer team??? Their win last nite guaranteed them a spot in the "postseason semis". Joy reigns!! Too bad about UB. They are playing good teams. I found that they are carrying roller derby on RTN and it is really great to watch. It's nice having a favorite sport again. Unfortunately the Bay Area Bombers won in overtime yesterday when one of their jammers threw a blocker through the legs of the opposition for the deciding point. Go Bills!!

Anonymous said...

I don't care who wins today. I only care if my numbers are 9 and 4, 3 and 2, 6 and 0, or 6 and 7.

Anonymous said...

6 and 7 is close to 8 and 7. Will nc jnn win anything with that? Me, I spent the day switching back and forth between track and field and lacrosse so I am not stressed at all.

Anonymous said...

I missed one of my squares which had an 8 and 7. So I ended up winning 50 big ones!

Anonymous said...

Good for Jnna.

And way to keep your life stress free Unkie.

Anonymous said...

What a great weekend! Sabres game was fun even though they lost. Peters got into a huge fight and then waved to the crowd like Ray used to do. Everyone went nuts.

Happy Monday all! Off to Denver tomorrow, of course when they are getting hit with tons of rain!

Anonymous said...

Sigh... Its Monday. I think I will listen to country and western in my office today to lighten the mood, as opposed to 97 rock which rehashes the game.
I can honestly say even a Yankee win coupled with a sux loss does not take the sting out of that debackle yesterday. Not sure what the powers that be are thinking, anyone have a clue???
Well its monday, make the best of it!

Anonymous said...

Enjoy the mile high city nc jll. Nvr been there, but heard lots of good things. Me, i think that I will spend the afternoon watching reruns of the luge races from the 68 winter Olympics. Nuthin else to watch.

Anonymous said...

Fall baseball continues for young ward Zachary and his LL team the "White Sox". Another beautiful evening last night even though the White Sox lost another game to the Cardinals.

I've decided to give Heroes a shot on Monday TV. My first impression is... It's ok. It's worth another look next week. Up next was "Journeyman", good show, I liked it.

On the Fantasy Front... I'm 3-0 in football and less than a week left in baseball in first place with a 4 point league.

Have a good day all. Enjoy Tuesday.

Anonymous said...

Wasn't the '68 summer games the year of the "black fist" in the air?

Anonymous said...

Ah yes, Tommie Sm ith and John Carlos. Nothing real exciting in the winter Olympics that year. Besides Math, I get to teach both Health, where I am right now, and later today, phys ed. Seems like there was a shortage of subs and I am being moved around. One never knows where one will be. Tonite, a rerun of the 4th of July hot dog eating contest at Coney Island. That will take care of my sports fix. Anybody catch War on PBS? Another Ken Burns. he did Civil War and, umh, something else that I can't remember...... Have a good one all.

Anonymous said...

I can not believe I have not left a note today, mmm its budget time and the hours are all crunched in an endless stream of numbers!!!
My brother is too funny!!!
Ken Burns, BaseBall was amazing! It opened with the Walt Whitman quote that hangs in my office!
"In our sundown perambulations of late, through the outer parts of Brooklyn, we have observed several parties of youngsters playing base, a certain game of ball... Let us go forth awhile and get better air in our lungs. Let us leave our close rooms... The game of ball is glorious.
Irregardless of who's uniform you cheer for, that quote would make even my father a baseball fan!
And i have no clue what perambulations means???
Thrillie called from OHare, she is thoroughly enthralled with that airport!
My sister wants to go to some church in san antonio that some author preaches at, me I want to go to the puffy taco mexican restaurant that was featured on Bobby Flay's throwdown, this past week. needless to say we'll probably go to church!
To our fans in fargo, did you happen to catch the sabres?? Yea me neither.
I did catch War, it was excellent!
Monday nite is DWTS! Marie Osmond, is my hands down favorite!

Anonymous said...

I taped all of Ken Burns' "Baseball" on VHS. I can only imagine what that would be on DVD. I also received from my good friend the "Ken Burns Baseball" book, it's very good (a lot of pictures). I may just go watch the tapes again.

Man, is it July outside or what?

The baseball regular season is winding down and and getting ready for an amusement park cholk full of fun in the playoffs. My favorite time of year.

Did anyone see Gundy (head coach of the Oklahoma State football team) go off on a beat writer. I loved it.

Hello Family...I am currently in Denver. what a beautiful city!!!!!! Driving in flat land and right in front of you are the Rockies. Gorgeous here! Te city is thrving, brand new buildings and condos everywhere I look!

Making a trip to Red Sox Nation on Friday...thankfully it will be in and out for that one!
