Next week: Bisons v. Ironpigs

I just had to get rid of that picture of Jeter being violated.

We'll be wearing our Ironpigs snouts next week when Lehigh Valley comes to town .
Who else is going?

Ooops. My comment was under the last blog since I was still under its influence. I will be at the thursday afternoon game if it stops raining.

Got to admit that I enjoyed fantasy more last week than anything in a long time. It still does not make up for what nc jnn did to me the first two times.

wow, i'm away for a day and this is what I come back to! I think whomever put up the rude yet funny yankees blog needs to go to holtz kangaroo court ...

Went to see the Birmingham Barons play the Montgomery Biscuits last night -- what a game! The barons pitched like crazy (look for Lucas Hartwell on the White Sox rotation soon) and shut out the biscuits 5-zip. Definately worth 147 miles and $66 dollars in gas to see!

Is that round trip KDH???

Started out crappy but turned for the better in the afternoon. Lawn is done and now I can just rest and have a cold one.

My family will be at the 19th and 20th games verse the Ironpigs. To Sandra's delight, we'll also be attending Sunday the 17th afternoon game for Zach's baseball banquet, arriving at 9 in the morning so he can get his trophy for being 1-19. Gotta love it!

IRON PIGS!!! It seems so long ago we adopted that battle cry!
So this rain, are you kidding me??
So I got my budget report this afternoon, and I am 20,000$ over budget, yes sports fans, I have had my current position for 90 days, have had 2 major projects both of which are behind schedule and over budget and now my cost center is 20,000 over! And why did I not want to do my little job in the nursing home again????
Thank goodness sychronized diving is on, I could use a good diversion!

What a great name, the Montgomery Biscuits! mmmm, with honey!!!
66$ in gas???? ouch!
but how much did you pay to park!

Anonymous said...

Unforeseen cost overrides. That's what happened sis. It explains everything. Besides, in the big picture and a multibillion dollar corp, what is 20k among friends? Isn't it great having challenges in our lives? Me, I think that I will go watch USA basketball attempt to defeat Angola. If they do well today, maybe they will be even better Thurs. against Dunkirk. We need some research into how the "biscuit" got their name.

Back from NYC...I had a 6 hour delay in the JFK airport in the old JetBlue terminal...I was not a happy camper.

It really is "The Summer of Jeff"...Christmas for Sandra should be awesome!

Emma just got back from Kenmore Mercy---6 stitches in her chin! Fell off a slide while goofing around with her brother--don't ask her how she feels, however...she says that "Webkinz" always make it better!

Anonymous said...

OUCH!! poor Emma. Heal quickly.

Anonymous said...

I called to check in on the little patient and she was all nestled in her bed sound asleep.

Anonymous said...

Poor Emma. I skinned my chin once when I was a kid because I decided to ride my bike with no hands on a sidewalk. For the next 6 weeks while it heeled people continually told me I had chocolate on my chin.

So whats going on with the football draft?? Is it going to be like baseball where players are just assigned to me?

Anonymous said...

ouch emma! Ice cream helps too.
In yet another display of athletic prowess in my youth, I tried to climb a tree and fell off on my face -- the day before school pictures. NICE!

147 miles was one way -- but one tank of gas covered the round trip. go biscuits!

Anonymous said...

Chocolaye on your face... too funny.

I want to name my football team the biscuits. But as a first name.

Not much going on here, Emma is under careful watch due to her coordination, or lack thereof.

I may have been responsible for my sisters accident. But, if I recall correctly you hit a parked car.

Who is watching the bills in the TO?, yea me neither.
Has anyone gone to the Mongomery Biscuits website??
Took GG out for dinner, she was kind of bummed she could not get fruit and whipped cream covered waffles at 6PM, hey who knew!
I think the womens gymnastic team was robbed! Not to the extent of the 1972 Mens Olympic Basketball team, but still an injustice was done!
Hey tomorrow is at least friday, isnt it??? Now that is something to cheer about!

Good Gary and his brother Mike will be at the game on Sunday Jff. They will be the 2 drunk guys in the nose bleeds.

Anonymous said...

Can someone please tell me if I have to do anything for tonight's football draft?

Anonymous said...

I'll be sure to say hi to good gary and his drunk brother Mike.

You don't have to do anyything tonight for the football draft pigskin.

Anonymous said...

The draft is tonight?? I want Brett Favorite, I don't know who this guy is but I want him!

Anonymous said...

I am already protesting the HFFFL. Cousin Zach has both Mannings and Unk has Brett.

NOT FAIR!

Anonymous said...

I've heard about Favre is he any good? What I want to do is protest my baseball game this week with my dear uncle Geo... how can I be losing 1-8, I have (hands down) the best team on paper.

Off to the Bisons today and it looks to be a nice day outside. Enjoy it.

Anonymous said...

It wasn't that nice yesterday mornin'... the wind was whipping off the lake. Kind of cold in the morning and then finally the sun came out and made for a nice afternoon game.

Zach won a bat bag at his banquet filled with a batting helmet, a smaller bag, and some wrist bands inside. He was very excited to win it.

monday, UGH...
Bison game tomorrow..
I would like a flat screen high definition TV, Santa! Is it too early to ask?

Anonymous said...

Wow, where did that come from???

Anonymous said...

One can dream right mom?

Does anyone know where Unkie is? I have his tickets to the Bison's game for tomorrow.

Anonymous said...

Sorry nc jnn, but won't be able to use the tickets. Did make last nite's game in the "labatt's zone" and for everyone's info, in the first, second, third, and fifth innings, it was BROWNBALL time, believe it or not. Twice the ball did not make the mound, twice it did. Still can't figure out what happened at palooza. Watch tonite and see what happens. Enjoy the game all. Sorry we can't attend.

Had a successful travel day yesterday. All 4 of my flights were actually early?!?!?!?!?!

Anonymous said...

Had a wonderful evening at the ball park last evening! Cept for the woman in front of me in a winter coat, boots and scarf and gloves, oh wait that was my sister!
Lots of fun, great game!!
Great beer!
and in the 4th the ball was rolled back to the mound. Jenna said she won and we all owe her money? Is that true?
have a great wednesday..

Anonymous said...

I had 4th inning green

My dad made out like a bandit last night with th purchase of $1 hot dogs... thank you Uncle Geo for my 4 free hot dogs, delish. I guess my dad should have waited.

Fun game last night as we watched a hit parade of 17 screamers off of Philly future prospect and AAA star Carlos Carasco (97 mph fast ball... that went 103 mph over the left field wall).

Anonymous said...

what a beautiful day it has turned out to be..
just got home from the dentist, and yea they were able to save my tooth that I broke in April and lied and said I just did it..
hope you get your golf games in, and OBTW, bad gary got free hot dog coupons, he used those before the national anthem.

Anonymous said...

I would have posted some pictures of the game for all to see; but; someone came to my house and stole my camera while I was on the phone.

Lucky for me the erpetrator said she would bring it back by Monday.

Have fun in NYC cookie!

Sounds like a fun time for all at the ballpark. Sorry that we missed it. Glad to hear that my sister was prepared for that tricky August snow that has been known to hit. Off to Altoona today to see the curve play tonite. Auntie is lobbying for a side trip to Niles Ohio to see the Mahoning Valley Scrappers. We will just have to wait and see on that one. Enjoy

Anonymous said...

When will there be a new Oliver blog? I check everyday!

Anonymous said...

Unk, What will it take to get Brett Favre from you?

Heading into work late, I love Friday's.

Anonymous said...

You can't beat Altoona's nickname, named after the railroad tracks in town and it's insane death curve. Have fun AP & UC.

We had fun at Tuesdays and Wednesday's Bisons game. Both times were hit parades for the Bisons and we got to see jason Cooper break a Bison recoed of most games played. Extra bonus.

I think we're down with baseball this summer, Sandra is spent. I, I have one game left in me)... maybe a trip to Batavia before the season ends.

Headed to Cobourg, Ontario for a wedding this weekend. It is an outdoor wedding and of course it will be unbelievably hot. And as a dutiful bridesmaid...I will be wearing a long, black dress.

Anonymous said...

I think Johnny Cash sang a song about that!

Anonymous said...

Johnny Cash wore a long black dress??? The information that this blog offers is amazing.

Anonymous said...

What cookie left out of the wedding this weekend, is that the reception is a CASH bar. When UG heard this, he reminisced about one time he tended bar for a wedding where, when the guests found out it was a cash bar, went into there envelopes for the bride and groom and spent the wedding gift money at the bar! Cant win for loosing..
Go Curve..

Anonymous said...

Dave Matthews has a song Long, Black Veil...which may or may not be a cover song.

Yes it is cash bar...the horror!!!! I am stocking up my toonies. Once Good gary heard that he said this would be the worst tipped bartender. Luckily the wedding party drinks for free so I will be slipping Gary some free beers under the table.
