I arrived at his home.
It was cleaned up a bit but I still mentioned to him that it might be time for storm windows.
He hopped in the car and requested we make one stop before we went to the mall. Suspicious, I asked if it was on the way and he replied, "yep".
I mentioned to him that this technically wasn't on the way and if we could hurry this up a bit it would be much appreciated. We arrived at his destination. He put his coat and hat on and we entered the establishment.
We sat down ordered up a few winter lagers... four hours later we left.
I took him straight home and he started getting friendly with the neighbor.
We didn't go shopping and once again Mustafa played me for the fool.
Merry Christmas!

OK that is awesome!
I did not know he could type?
Great job, very funny and timely I might add, as it is the best time to go to Canada as Canada is coming here!
Mustafa has been a permanent fixture for the last 5 christmases and it wouldn't be the same without him. Let the official festivities begin!! If he is enjoying the holidays, it looks good for all of us. MERRY CHRISTMAS to all!
And i thought that I was going to be first only to be edged by AB.
Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband, Prince Frederic Von Anhalt, hospitalized for gluing his own eye shut
This is news worthy?
They obviously got bored covering Miller's engagement.
1/2 day today and then that's it! WooHoo! A lil' stocking shopping, oil change, and I have to fill my growler up with some Old Fizziwig. That's my day.
I hear ATL may get some measurable snow this Christmas?!? Good thing K will be in warm, sunny Buffalo at the time
The Miami of the north.
I haven't heard anything more on Prince Frederic. Is he okay?
Not much activity for xmas eve. Just trying to figure out who is going to drink all of this nog. only 3 hours until christmas story begins for another year.
Merry Christmas family!
I hope Oliver is up tearing apart a plethora of gifts, compliments of Santa!
I hope Ms Caroline is feeling better today!
I hope Audrey gets everything on her list!
I hope everyone can have that second cup of coffee, and sit back and just enjoy the AM
I am very excited for the family to come today, and I am feeling a classic pirate game coming!
Of course we will miss our Atl family, our Quincy family and our Ashville family, but we will get together sooner than later!
Full speed ahead, let the festivities begin,oh and Ralphie is just about to get his!
The old man just surprised Ralphie with a Red Ryder bb gun, much to the surprise of the misses. Can't wait to see what happens next!! Adam just called to let us know that Santa came to quincy and it seems that Oliver got a "light saber". Can't wait to see what bad guys will be subdued in EA. Merry Christmas to all. See you in a few hours.
Merry Christmas!!!! Apparently Santa brought my neighbor a new snowblower as he was testing it out at 6:30 am! I wanted to tell him there was no snow to plow, but it's Christmas!
Missing all our families that can't be with us today!
Picking up Grandma in an hour, making a pit stop at the cemetary, and picking up Awesome Austin!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Just awaiting to hear of the arrival of the quincy holtzes in utica for the evening. Thanks to everyone for their generosity and pariticularly to the Kochs for their marvelous hosting. Another GREAT christmas. Thank you all!
What an amazing Christmas day it was! Thank you one and all for being the reason it was!
We had quite a spirited pirate game, with lots of laughs, and great gifts! We accomplished a lot of family business, for ex the planning of Holtzapalooza III, for sometime in July '11, we heard all about nephews plans for the week, which did not involve work, seems nephew has prime seats for the Hockey Tournament this week, kudos to that! We also learned that the Fixxits are off to Hawaii in Feb!
The bar " Steinbrenner's" is pretty much completed, and Gramma got a puzzle, yup that covers it!
Around 6PM, the Koch's had their Christmas, with another round of great gifts, and a stupendous time!
Noteworthy gifts are my prized Yankee Tickets in section 107, seats 1&2 for April 2, which happens to me my 55th birthday, vs the Detroit Tigers! Yes that is correct, OBTW, those seats are 10 rows up from A Rod! Hope Cameron is there! Other notable gifts, more tops gift cards for Gramma, a new computer chair for george, an I Pad for Austin, a pop corn machine for STeinbrenners, and slippers for Jenna
Again, thank you to everyone, but that does not seem to cover it?
How did I get so lucky!
Back to work for me today. Seems everyone else took off because there was NO ONE on the roads!
Last week in my own office then I get bumped and have to share an office. EEK! There goes my view of the waterfront.
Once again the forces of good are smashed by the forces of evil, read "More Beer" by Chan's Chumps, aka steinbrenners, and to make it that much worse, it had to be the New England defense that was the deciding factor. How much worse can it get????????? Anyhow, as painful as it is, congrats to auntie b on the great b-day gift that she has to look forward to. Off to Tony Rome's to meet the Kochs for lunch.
Hope everyone had a nice Monday today. Sandra and I had unfortunate task of attending a funeral. Our neighbor's mother passed away on Thursday, nice lady. Sandra sang at it and sounded absolutely wonderful. So that was my day off today... But that's okay; tomorrow is just a half day at work as Zachary and I will be going to all 3 hockey games at HSBC tomorrow. I can't wait.
How was lunch?
Looks like the xmas season is rapidly drawing to a close. AB and Austin drove GG out to Tony Rome's yesterday, and nc jnn was able to arrange a "lengthy" lunch to meet up with the quincy holtzes who unfortunately will be heading back today. A whole day of hockey for the Pilafs=sounds great. Enjoy
We will enjoy the day. Emma was kind of bummed that just Zach is going and she wanted to go, when I told her we would be there for about 10 or 11 hours she replied, "I would just want to go for an hour".
That's what I thought.
Christmas, coming to a close??? NO WAY!!! Christmas should be everyday!
I am at work, I think that says it all! Had a wonderful lunch with the Quincy Holtz's, heard from Oliver all that Santa had brought, and got to hold, well try to hold Ms Audrey, as she was just way to busy to not a miss a thing that was going on! GG ate her whole lunch so we did not have to cart styrofoam around, a big yea!
Travel safely back to Quincy Holtz's!
Have fun at all the games Jff and Zach! Should be a great day!
Streets still kind of empty on the ride to work, maybe we really are a ghost town?
Hope everyone is doing OK, I thought the Christmas day pictures would be up? Will have to nag my daughter!
have a great wed all!
$60 to park??? I sure hope that nphw jff wasn't accompanied by Mr. Fixxitt yesterday. Just seeing that number would be enuf to put him over the edge. I, personally, am doing my part to stay off the road and make the driving easier for everyone else. C'mon xmas pics!
$15 to park at the ramp where we went and one spot was $10 but my friend didn't want his car outside (understandable its a Mercedes). I on the otherhand see an extra $5 in my pocket as a plus.
Great games yesterday. Canadian fans brought an excitement to the arena for the Canada/ Czech Rep. game and brought an obnoxious an my disdain for them in the US/ Slovakia game. They're brutal.
I wasn't a fan of everyone booing Etem. Let the kid tweet.
Overall in yesterday's games; North America 13 Czechoslovakia 3
A few questions?
So did the Quincy Holtz's get on the road? I know there was some questions on heading back to Mass?
If its 60$ to park and there are 3 people in the car how much was the beer? Just wondering?
The Canadians are upset at the border? who cares, does anyone?
And one more question, how much was the beer?
Enjoy the second last day of 2010
No surprise about the obnoxious Canadians. Glad we decided to stay at home.
Did anyone really think a 19 year old kid was going to say positive things about Buffalo? Someone get the kid a fake ID and take him down to the Chip Strip.
Good morning,
Beers were the usual. Sam's was 6.50 a bottle, Bass was 7.50, and big Bud Lights were... Ummmm I have no idea, I don't drink that crap. If you had a Canuckian jersey on I think they were charging a dollar more... can't confirm that though.
Is my nephew not working today?
Are we having a planning meeting for H-III?
They have a new sub station at BGH opening today, I am psyched for lunch!
I'm working...
mmmmm... subs
Holtazapalooza III, absolutely. I like the park idea again. I think everyone had fun the first time. Who's going to invite the Fargo Holtz's?
Is anyone playing the number 1 1 1 1 for tomorrow?
Happy New Year everybody! Gary and I had an amazing 2010 and we are certainly looking forward to what 2011 has in store for us.
Steinbrenner's will be open all night tonight! Stop on by for a drink or 2.
Happy New Year to everyone! I hope 2011 brings health, wealth, prosperity and everything else!
Our blog has been up and running for 5 plus years. I am so proud that after all this time we still have our blog!
I love you all!
hey, it's 2011. Happy New Year all. Let's hope that this upcoming year is filled with as much good stuff as 2010. Gotta work to remember that today is Sat. and there is still another weekend day remaining. Enjoy!
Happy New Year!!!
My friend Shawn was very generous again and invited both kids and me to the World Juniors yesterday; both were really good games. Today I'm off to today's games, the big one being tonight's US/Canada game at 7:30. I can't wait.
Am I the only one at work today?? Sounds like there is still a lot of playing going on. Gotta love the last 2 Bills games. 10-72 with 13 turnovers. Is my math correct? Maybe Brian Broeme isn't the answer. Enjoy your day.
Happy new year, family! I'm at work, and moving slowly. Hope that my staff doesn't catch on that I'm reluctant to be here. All is well in Atlanta -- CJ is definately back to herself and chafing under the constant supervision of her parents. She's become quite adept at peeling our fingers off of her when she wants to walk alone. Boy, did I miss you guys over the holidays! The tree is down and it feels like Christmas didn't really happen here ....
Happy to be at work! Saying that just incase, my PC is being monitored!
Happy 2011! Hope everyone had a great New Years!
Just an FYI, GG's new years resolution has been to be more agreeable, saying that she agreed that I am her favorite!
Had her over for meatloaf yesterday, which she gobbled down, and took home leftovers!
KDH, you were home for Christmas, we thought about you, your family picture hung on the tree, right next to the Bills ornament, and we toasted your health, wealth and happiness, so Christmas did happen!
I'm glad CJ is feeling better. We missed you guys too.
US took one on the chin yesterday. Canada completely outplayed them in all 3 periods. I am going to Wednesday's medal games. Hopefully US can beat SUI for the bronze.
All set for tonight's US/SUI bronze medal game? GO USA!!!
Zach and I'll be there rooting the home boys on. I wrote a note to excuse him early from school with the real reason and he started laughing. "Dad, they're not gonna let me out, how come you didn't say I was going to the doctor?"
We are not going to the Canada/Russia gold medal game. My friend sold his 4 tickets for $300 each. Not bad. Sooooo, to conteract the selling of the tickets I upgraded my FIOS package, saved $5 per month and I'm getting the game tonight. I love America!
I never thought I would yell "Go Russia", but they were definately the better option than rooting for Canada.
Glad the tourney is over and downtown is back to normal.
Work holiday party is today after work. Here is hoping I don't say or do something stupid that can be held against me until my next review date.
Good luck with that Jnna, it's not a Holtz trait.
What is up with Ted Williams? I thought his son froze his head.
I should have shoveled with a coat and gloves on this morning. Brrrrrrrr...
I'm not sure I can make it through the work day. Wish me luck.
This week is my first 5 day work week in almost a month. I am barely making it!
So Anastasia had a scare this week, did not feel good at all! And it scared her! Upon further review it was soon discovered that her ailment was not the grip of the angel of death, but the consumption that day of fudge, christmas cookies, take out wings and fries from Galassi's and an assortment of other snacks! Shame at almost 94 you can not eat what you want!
enjoy friday...
Weird week for me -- lots of work but not a lot of office time -- I was in Monday, home with Caroline T - Th, and now back in the office to end the week. Caroline's back in school today and I think it may be a tough one for her -- she's gotten used to sleeping until 10am and napping from 1 to 5. Not sure the 2 hour nap school offers is going to cut it for her!
She changes classrooms next week -- out of Infants and into Toddler I. Where does time go???
Where does the time go indeed. I remember mt first day in Toddler I. Ummmmm... wait, no I don't.
snowy and cold sunday isnt it!
Birthday party sunday at our house, hopefully all invited will be able to get here!
how despicable is it that marshwanlynch had a good game, and cheater cheater pumpkin eater pete carrol won a playoff game with a 7-9 record and the jets won! vile!
Will try to get my birthday daughter to upload christmas pictures, but she has been spending alot of time at "Steinbrenners" lately.
Enjoy today and all that it brings!
And a great big HB to nc jnn and its a good thing that you are not having your party in not so hot Lanta. According to the weather channel, the upcoming snow? event will be the worst thing since Gen. Sherman. KDH assures me that there is enuf food to provide for sweet caroline but I warned her to protect the estate from food rioters. Boy, I wish the Bills had a running back like marshawn lynch. Maybe a #1 draft pick in a trade for him? Anybody read Don Esmonde's column about canadians this morning? Stay warm. Who are we rooting for today? Enjoy your party nc jnn. GG has a special gift for you.
Happy Birthday Sissy!
Back to the grind today, but looking forward to my upcoming 3 day holiday weekend.
Unkie, I read Esmonde's column. What cheapskates!
Happy Birthday Jnna!
Yep, I read Esmonde's article too AND I was there to see it firsthand (not the tipping part). The Canadians were obnoxious. They flippin' drove me crazy.
Did anyone notice it was Elvis' birthday on Saturday? My dad (AKA Mr. Fixxit) loves Elvis.
Happy Birthday daughter! Had a nice party yesterday, that jnna tried very hard to stay awake for!
I did know it was Elvis's birthday on saturday, Did Mr fixxitt get him anything? just curious
The WC is all over the Hotlanta snow storm! Does CJ have a pair of Ugh's? She will need them!
So even Jacksonville, with its high of 62 today, sounds much better than what I had to endure to see out my car window this AM, endless scrapping!
I am guessing that Mr. F. sent Graceland a supply of lint rollers in honor of "The King's" birthday. No day off for him tho. That would make for a much better Jan. Heading for "not so hot" lanta on Fri. and hoping that the state of emergency is over by then. KDH keeps talking about how much better it is there in the winter but based on the trip last Feb. I would beg to differ.Nc Jnn had trouble staying awake during her own party? Explanation???
Lint brushes are always a good gift.
I too would like to hear about Jnna's birthday. Did she dance? I remember her TRYING to dance in the summer at some shingdig. She's good... when she can keep her balance.
Thank you for the birthday wishes! I had an amazing party on Sunday and wonderful day today!
I can only dance when I have had a certain amount of drinks in. That limit will NEVER be reached again!
Really? Really?
I'm glad you had a nice day.
We've got some snow coming. Are the residents in the southtowns hunkered down?
Atlanta is SHUT DOWN. We haven't left the house in 72 hours. There's no end in sight -- how can they clear 6 inches of snow with a 1/2 inch ice crust when there's only three plows in the whole metropolitan area?
Oh boy.
I hope your birthday was as wonderful as you are, Jenna!
Sandra wants to know if you have enough water?
... or bourbon?
Who runs their snow plow at 11pm?!?! Thats all I gotta say!
Every municipality should have the heated streets like kenmore does, nary a flake on the roads between sheridan drive and kenmore ave!
Atl shut down? seems incredible
My employees have a strict snow policy that they have to follow, basically you show up for work!
Same hold true for KDHRC?
jnna is at a job fair today at the galleria, wonder how many people showed up?
other daughter sounds cranky that the T'O'T had their snowplows out pretty late last night?
Other than that not to much else to report, I will offer daughter 5$ to post the christmas pictures! Money talks!
