Bronx Munson Everett

Say Hello to Bronx, the newest addition to the Everett family! She is a 9 week old, 17lb. chocolate lab who enjoys eating rawhides, chasing a tennis ball and pooping on the carpet.

cute, but the name has got to go. How 'bout Fenway?

Love the addition to the family!
Daughter did fail to mention the 3AM potty calls! Cute none the less!
Still remember Adam from your wedding reception, your best man's who's dog was named Nomar, and everytime he said it, Jff, would make a sound like he was sneezing, only he was saying "jeter" too funny!

unk said...

I would agree with my son that the dog is indeed cute, not Lucy cute of course, but i suspect that she too will grow up, but would definitely benefit with a better name; perhaps Yuke?

Jnna said...

Needless to say Aunt Jenna bought every dog toy and recommended treats that TOPS had to offer! Proud to welcome Bronx into the family!

jt said...

Wow! Gorgeous blue eyes... just like Jeter's.

Welcome Bronx (what a GREAT name), welcome to the family. Hopefully he brings the Yanks luck this season to the effect of another world series victory.

Sandra's in Wisconsin, Zach went to last night's ho-hum Sabres game, so Emma and I went out to dinner. Unfortunately her place of choice, Johnny Rockets, was closed down and she was very upset about it. So we went to Frendly's... she loved her milkshake.

jt said...

Opps, where'd my "i" go in Friendly's?

Awwwww...so cute! I love puppies!

Happy St Patrick's Day! I hope everyone is wearin o the green today and drinking Guiness!
So our trip to NYC is finalized, and we are very excited! It looks like our itinerary is Yankee game, Mets Game, Yankee Game, home! Sounds like a wonderful trip!
Enjoy thursday all

Betsy said...

Have to scratch the mets game as they start their season in Florida!
What else will we do with no game to attend on April 1st????

jt said...

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I've got my Guinness shirt on today. Can't wait til I get home to crack it open, watch it cascade down the (inner) of pint glass and watch some tourney bball.

NYC! Oh man, that does sound fun. Have a great time. Even if the Mets were in town they still wouldn't be playing. They stink, stink I tell ya.

lonely husband said...

Sandra's coming home tonight... yeah!

unk said...

Speaking of baseball, what is with the lack of people signing up for fantasy b-ball??? what is going on with YOU PEOPLE!! Come on; less poop-scooping, daydreaming of yankee games and t-ball games, buying of doggie toys; let's get this show on the road. come on Commish, dispense some fines/discipline. We need the draft. How can i get screwed again by my nephew until the teams are picked. Oh yeah, happy st. pattys

jt said...

Wow, someone is excited.
I can't even begin to imagine how much poop is out in the backyard. It frightens me.

I'll get Zach to sign up for baseball tonight.

unkie said...

Too much green beer and basketball yesterday. I think that was the cause of my outburst. nphw jff brought me back to earth with his reminder of the good old days when the snow finally melted and I got a chance to see how busy Cricket had been in the back yard all winter. Good luck nphw. A 30-gallon garbage bag will be a good start. More "madness" today. Can't wait, plus, it's Friday. Enjoy

Betsy said...

Hip Hip Hooray, it is Friday!
Great basketball games yesterday and even a few upsets!
Kind of spring like this AM, wonder if it will stay.
Just a reminder that my sister turns 65 today! You dont have to call her or anything its just an FYI
Nothing exciting planned, Austin coming for the weekend, so that means a trip to the grocery store for all the essentials!
Have a great friday family!

jt said...

I got burned on a couple tourney picks... MSU killed me. Who was rooting for Jimmer last night? Yeah, me neither.

It's gorgeous outside, does the temperature keep rising and reach temps of 80 degrees today? A boy can dream can't he?

jt said...

We have our reservations for 3 nights at Wompatuck SP (site L010) beginning Friday 5/27, leaving Monday morning the 30th. So I guess it's official for the Rices coming down to enjoy the birthday festivities in Quincy. It's funny, I've been making reservations online now for a loooooong time. YET, after I hit confirm I always have to look (after the fact of course) that I'm in the right state. Whew, MA, we're good to go.

unk said...

Looks like a May party coming together in Mass. Yeah Pilafs! Hard to believe that I have a 65 year old sister.

unkie said...

What a quiet weekend. Everyone too involved in basketball and watching the Sabres implode yesterday?

jt said...

Ugh... Syracuse lost and the Sabres (who knows what happened there) blow one. Incredible.

We had a really nice time in Butler, PA over the weekend. The kids had fun playing and I went to the Keller Williams concert in Millville, just borders Pittsburgh.
Now we wash our clothes and take off for Cincy for a few daze. The traveling Pilafs are off again.

kdh said...

Hi family! Adorable pooch, Everetts -- congrats!

You all will be happy to know that Jefferson's first T-ball game went great -- we called it a draw at 20 to 20 after four innings. Jefferson, at first base, was critical with the 1-3 almost-an-out-if-the-throw-was-more-accurate repeated plays. And Eric only had to stop the game once to scold a Pirate for hitting one of our Orioles with his glove. Don't cross coach Eric with bad sportsmanship, opposing teams!

Practice tonight. I'm kinda loving being a baseball "mom"!

Betsy said...

Is a boring comment better than no comment at all? Just wondering, as I had nothing to say this weekend.
I take full responsibilty for the Sabres all was well til I left to go do laundry, then well you know the rest of the story.
20-20, what a pitchers dual! I bet Jefferson is the next Mark Texeira! Or who ever plays 1st for the braves!
Notice nephew is doing an awful lot of driving with gas prices outrageous! good for you!
I was actually so busy at work today I could not even look at the blog, now that is just wrong!
enjoy tuesday family

jt said...

T-ball at springtime... is there anything better? 20-20??? Maybe they should move the pitching mound up a bit? I know, I know, it's T-ball... I'm just saying.

Gas prices be darned! I guess buying into gas price futures back in '96 is really paying off now... IF ONLY!

Is it normal for a teen age boy to drive his father crazy? Maybe I should ask Mr. Fixxit this question?

Sndra said...

Ahhhh...t-ball...I remember it well! The ball is hit and the entire field runs after it. Cracked us up every time!Enjoy it KDH!
So we are camping in MA...grab a site & join us! Can't go wrong with 17.00 a night!

jt said...

$17 a night!!! Count me in!

unk said...

My blogs over the past 5 years show that I am much more into quantity than quality. The "travelling pilafs" Sounds like a great name for a rock group. T-ball is far more humanitarian than the alternative of having the coach pitch and try to hit the bat. Keep your snow blowers handy

jt said...

"My blogs over the past 5 years show that I am much more into quantity than quality".

What brought this on? I can just see Auntie P and Unckie discussing blogs around the fire.

TODAY is not a good day to go riverboat gambling.

kdh said...

i love tuning into the blog for the helpful advice of the day. I have struck riverboat gambling from my to do list upon recommendation of my cousin. Thank you.

unkie said...

Right, no riverboat gambling today. What about ice-fishing? Which is more likely in Atlanta, KDH? Anyone else "enjoy" their commute today? And yes, Auntie and I often sit round the fire evaluating blog comments. She of course has tended to specialize in flocking comments.

what a difference a day makes!
GG's cold is better, so that is good news.
Basketball resumes, another piece of good news
Has everyone signed up for HFFBB?
Other than that, just glad it is not snowing!

Jnna said...

Well, I think it is safe to say that I will not be winning the March Madness office pool!

unk said...

At the risk of sounding like a whiner, I just looked at the national weather map for predicted high temperatures for today and found out that the only place in the continental U.S. that will be colder today is Minot, S.D. Yes, Bangor, Me will be warmer; International Falls, Mn will be warmer; Cut Bank, Mt. will be warmer. Enjoy the day.

jt said...

Brrrrrr...
It is freezing out. How can we be colder than International Falls?

The Rice's are back from Cincy and we had a really nice time. The kids and I swam, went to the Creation Museum, and had lunch at the Rock Bottom Brewery. Then we all had dinner at the Hofbrauhaus one night in Kentucky. ZiggyZaggy ZiggyZaggy ZiggyZaggy Oy Oy Oy!!! Emma loves that!

Betsy said...

Happy Monday!
Just a few quick updates, HFFBB is at 10 teams, we are just waiting for the everetts to join.
Hopefully the draft will be either today or tomorrow, thanks for your
patience.
I did not realize the Pilaf's had traveled to Cincinnati! How fun!
Looking forward to opening day at 101st and River ave!

jt said...

Have fun in NYC. Safe travels.
I'll be watching that game on TV. Then the following morning I'll be traveling south again; this time to Martinsville Virginia to see the race. Oh, and camping, with nightime temps reaching the low 40's. Brrrrrr...

unk said...

Everyone is travelling. Good to see that nphw jff is back on his normal work schedule. Was ready to drive to Williamsport for March golf when I tried my good friends at Peachtree Golf at Niagara on the Lake and they told me that even tho their pond is frozen solid and there are a few snow drifts still on the course, I can play once it goes above freezing. Hope the weather cooperates in the Big Apple. Opening day on thursday and the Bisons next thursday.

Betsy said...

I heard from my mother that the streak was definately in jeopardy! We need mother nature to cooperate in order for the streak to continue! good luck with that!
Very excited for opening day, made reservations at NYY steak in the stadium, and in perusing the menu the ave price of a sandwich was 28$!
Maybe we should just eat at McDonalds in time square?

jt said...

$28 for a steak??? I think Sandra gave birth to Zachary cheaper... sheesh.

Unckie, I'll admit I'm a bit nervous for you. BUT thank goodness for the good folk at Peach Tree to come through and bail you out. Take your ice skates with you and take advantage of the frozen pond.

We need one more team said...

Currently at 11 - need an even #

"Get over that hump day"

Today's agenda: I have to make it through the work day.
Tonight's agenda: burrito from Mooney's

Betsy said...

Is it Christmas Eve, sure feels like it, as we anticipate another BaseBall season.
Thought: Maybe the Holtz's should celebrate Christmas on opening day?
It would alleviate travel in bad weather, well except for us, as it is suppose to snow today, shopping would be a breeze, as who shops now?
Meal, could be a BBQ?
Just a thought
At work, to excited to concentrate as tomorrow at this time, I will be drinking beer and watching Derek take his swings! Does life get any better. I think not!

Blog fan wants to know said...

Status update on the streak, please

Status update on River boat gambling, yea or nay?

jt said...

A Holtz Christmas in July party? Is this what you're suggesting? I love it! I'm gonna run out and get my pirate gift at Home Depot. Maybe a 20 lb. bag of Kentucky Blue.

It's still a lil' cold outside for river boat gambling. Soon, very soon.

unkie said...

12:30 tee-off on a "brisk" wed. Must confess to playing one off the pond on #7 to give me an easy chip and putt. The streak remains intact. Can't believe that Auntie B. will be on her way to the Bronx. Me, I am looking forward to seeing how much snow we actually get tomorrow while I come home to enjoy one of my favorite days, opening day on ESPN.

Jnna said...

The Bronx bound kochs left early this morning. I have been receiving periodic updates during their travels. They should arrive in the city before noon. Taking gram for a early fish fry tomorrow and spending the weekend with awesome Austin. Enjoy the snow

jt said...

Snow!
Today's Yankee game is in jeopardy of being canceled. NOW, I'm not sure if this is just the weather media trying to makes things sound worse than it actually is or not; but snow is expected today on the coast. Bundle up warm Kochies.

I'm heading off to Martinsville first thing tomorrow morning.

jt said...

Unckie, glad to hear "the streak" is still alive and kicking. AND way to use your noggin' and skip the white sphere off the frozen pond to save yourself a few yards.

unk said...

My mid-season baseball depression has already set in. Watching the Skanks get 6 runs on, what was it, 2 or 3 hits, is enuf to make the kindest, gentlest person totally morose. Maybe I will boycott the entire season. Skipped work today only to watch the snow fall. Travel safely Pilafs. Hope you find a pocket of warm air.

Jill said...

Happy Birthday Mom! Just spoke with the birthday girl and they were headed to the stadium for their lunch at NY Steakhouse and then the game. Hopefully the weather is better for them today.

Bronx has been banished to her crate after eating all my tulips this morning. Bad Girl.

JNNA said...

Happy Birthday Mom! I hope your enjoying your day in NYC. I just talked to the birthday girl who is anxiously waiting for the game to start!
I nominate my sissy to post pictures up of mom for the new blog! Who seconds?

unkie said...

I find it extremely difficult to root against theB-Bombers,with the birthday girl in attendance, especially with them being up 3 after an inning. Hope that my little sister is enjoying heer day! H. B. Sis !!!!

Sndra said...

Jff called from Martinsville last night loudly stating, "It's sooo cold!! If you don't hear from me ever again it is because I froze to death!" No heater/electric on the campsite & no generator or battery heat...low 30s.

unk said...

For poor nphw jff: OMG!!

jt said...

I'm back from race weekend in Martinsville. I can't tell you how cold Friday and Saturday night were. Sunday afternoon however, I can't tell you how beat red my face and neck are. AND we're out of aloe. Ouch!

unk said...

Glad to see that nphw jff is back in town relatively unharmed from his adventure. Enjoyed lunch yesterday with Auntie B. and Mrs. Fixxitt, particularly since GG picked up the tab. AB enjoyed her birthday trip with 2 yankee wins and Mrs. F is eagerly looking forward to her upcoming trip, particularly since she will have no worries about lawn grubs. Seems that the mister spent yesterday doing battle with those pesky critters. Me, I am not that far along on my spring "todo" list. Try not to get too much more sun today nphw.

jt said...

Now that I'm back in Buffalo, I think I'm safe from the sun's UV rays for at least another 3 months so I should heal up nicely.

Boston's 0-3!!! Can they finish the season 0 - 162? A Yankee fan can dream can't he?

jt said...

There was frost on my windshield... does that mean I get scared and go back inside to bed?

Big Sabres win last night!!!

Unfortunately the Yankees couldn't help me out with a double-dose of win fever.

Post Birthday Girl! said...

Back home after a trip to the Big Apple for the bigg 55!
Trip to New York New York, so great they named it twice was spectacular! In spite of an incessant rain, that only amplified the cities urine smell, the bone chilling cold at the Cathedral to Baseball, and the fact that every homeless woman that occupies every corner from 34th to 161st keyed in on Geo!
BB was phenominal, beers only 10.50, lunch at NYY Steak 200$, Yankee wins priceless!
All in all a great birthday, thank you all for the BD wishes
Had a nice luncheon with my brother, mother and sister on Monday and my brother reminded me that I am closer to 70 than I am to 30! Its sentiments like that, that make me tear up!
The fixxitts are off to Italy tomorrow, is the Pope aware of their arrival???
Put our family name in the quest book at St Patrick's Cathedral and lit a candle for each of our families, could'nt hurt right??
Sox 0-4, can they go 0- 162???
all things are possible!

jt said...

Let's keep the RedSux thing going...
BoSux lose again 0 - 5, can they go 0 - 162???

No vacations for the Pilafs until we head out to Wompatuck SP and Big O's (and sis') birthday bash extravaganza.

Stay cool Sacramento

Adam has been rather quiet from the blog. I am not sure why, but we miss you!

TGIF!!!! Busy weekend planned, ah who am I kidding?

GO SABRES!!!!!!!!!!

adam said...

you know damn well why I've been absent from the blog. I will maintain radio silence until my boys win their first game of the season. Then?... its on.

jt said...

Let's do it again. The BoSux are 0 and 6... let's definitely keep that going tonight!!! Can you say 0 for 162? GO YANKEES!!! Sorry Adm, but this is too much fun.

Sabres fan appreciation night tonight at HSBC. It's going to be huge and televised. I'll be at Emma's school tonight watching singing and dancing. Yeah!

Have you heard anything from the travelers, did they call when they landed in Sicily? I would imagine that over the years they had saved up enough minutes on their phone to cover International phone minutes!
Belated Birthday dinner at the everetts tomorrow, after that..
Just waiting for the weekend!

Did you just see gerbe's goal to tie it up in the 3rd? I mean- did you see that??? Absolutely amazing!

Happy Saturday, looks like a great day..
Awesome Sabre game, so exciting, even though I fell asleep when the game was 2-1, thank goodness for 24-7 sportscenter, so i have a clue of what is going on.
Rory McIlroy, is my new favorite name in sports! It is Buster Posey 1A and Rory McIlroy - 1B
Busy day, have to take Anastasia to the library as she is bookless!
enjoy your day and all that it brings!

You are only going if I can get a ticket.

jt said...

Man, what a gorgeous day.
I grilled, Zach played basketball and Emma played with the girls accross the street. I love it when the kids are outside.

jt said...

Well the Yanks lost the series to their rivals which means I lost a beer bet to my BloSux fan friend. Now I'll have to find a beer with a obvious message on it. Maybe Rogues' Arrogant Bast***? Hmmmm... that just might do.

Betsy said...

UGH to Monday
Was a very nice day out yesterday.
We did not grill, but we moved the grill from inside of the garage to outside of the garage, does that count?
Had a lovely dinner at the Everett's on Saturday, gramma loved just sitting and watching Bronx run through out the house, with her boundless puppy energy!
2-160 for the sux, that is what I am predicting.
enjoy the day

unk said...

I keep telling myself that it is better to be 5 out in April, than 5 out in Sept. but somehow.... Auntie worked my like a rented mule all weekend and I am feeling it today. Can I make it til 12;30? Cant believe that the Pilafs are in WNY. What's with that??

jt said...

We're here, we're here, we're here!!!
How can we leave this gorgeous weather? Where would I go that's better than here?
Oh wait, Yankee Stadium!!!

Yeah!

Betsy said...

worked me like a rented mule, I dont think that phrase has ever been used on the blog before? Could we have our support staff check to confirm? Just curious?
So I was on hold with the Sabres ticket office at 8:50AM and did not get tickets? What was up with that?
Tuesday Tuesday, cant beat that day

jt said...

That's too bad. Sandra didn't get Taylor Swift tickets either, maybe it's a conspiracy against our family?

Looks like we have some spring rain in the forecast for the next 17 days. I don't think I'm exaggerating, but I could be.

jt said...

Wednesday! Get over the hump day.
Lord, let me get through this day.

Betsy said...

Nephew, did you make it??

jt said...

Barely, just barely. It got pretty dicey at the end of the day. Someone pushed the clock back an hour... we suspect a manager did it to get more production out of us drones. Thank goodness someone noticed. I made it home by 3:12. Whew!

Betsy said...

Happy Thursday!
Will everyone be able to get through the day?
I hope so
Any word from Italy? I was thinking remember when our beloved Adm was hijacked in London, and we recieved those desperate emails to save him? Is anyone monitoring their emails to insure that the same fate has not bestowed my beloved sister and her treasured husband? Cuz the thought crossed my head what if we were notified, and it really was one of those hijackings and we just thought it was some hijinx?
OH well enjoy the day and all that it brings!

jt said...

I just sent out an emasil too, but...

Does anyone want to come over Friday night for wings and laughs (and libations)?
I'm going to fry up some wings outside. I can put some dogs and burgers on the grill too. Friday should be a nice evening.

jt said...

Should I invite lil' Ricky???

jt said...

emasil??? Really? Really???

I think I have fat fingers.

jt said...

The Red Sox game was postponed last night but MLB still gave them a loss.
How great is that?

unk said...

5 posts in 27 minutes may be an all time record, and that doesn't even count the additional esmasils he created. I am not a real "company guy" but I do send my sympathies to any and all of the people who are direct managers of those of us who are regular contributors here. I do notice that there is a lack of postings from the employees at KDHRC, which suggests a much more stringent management style.

jt said...

They probably "micro-manage" there.

Why is that such a bad word?

Betsy said...

We are taught at my employers that micro managing results in low employee satisfaction scores! And its all about happy employees, aparently!
Friday sounds wonderful, no rain?
KDHRC, they keep their nose to the grindstone, I have been there!

jt said...

That was just grandma and I think she was sleeping.

Jnna said...

Great hockey game!!! One down. I bet KDHRC is hard at work planning the games for holtzapalooza III

kdh said...

hells yeah the kdhrc'er keep their noses to the grindstone! or at least I think they do -- I don't have time to walk back there and check on them. My management style is at a more "macro" level. Or something even less stringent, if there is something. Super-macro? Uber-macro? I swear sometimes Eric doesn't even know all their names.

Quick poll -- I'm brewing up an idea for a major family event type thing up in WNY. How does June 18 look for people? Please report back.

Betsy said...

MMM June 18th??? I think I am free?? Who am I kidding, I could be notified 10 minutes prior to an event and still be able to show up early!
This sounds intriguing, a major family event? We have not had a major family event in quite awhile?
Let me know if I need to bring corn?
Such a fabulous Friday! A 1-0 win a come from behind Yankee's win, I am reading a good book, invited to my nephews, I do not think life gets any better!
Keep us posted K
Easter Buffet at 431, if anyone needs a place to go and eat on 04/24. Served around 2PM
Enjoy this day

jt said...

Nothing for us on the calendar for June 18th so far. I'm intrigued... I mean REALLY intrigued. A major family event??? What could it be? Who are the Yanks playing that day? Is Unckie getting Holtz and Son Painting up and running again? Is Miss CJ hitting the road with her Song and Dance troup? Is KDHRC moving into South Carolina too, now owning 1/25th of the United States.

Jnna said...

A "Major Event"!!!! What could it be? Will a spreadsheet be involved? June 18th. Hold for a brief second so I can check my social calendar. Yeah, I am free. If it involves games, please let me know. Gram is my teammate!

And a blustery Palm Sunday to one and all
Recap:
Lovely evening Friday with nephew and his amazing family! Beer was good and cold, just the way I like it! Ms emma is now sporting contacts, and I believe is the reigning champ in driveway hoops, correct?
Had a busy day with anastasia yesterday, for some reason in the endless downpour she decided a perm was needed, so it was a 2.5 hour trip to Fantastic Sams, end result a very pretty GG when it was all said and done! And I finally convinced her to pay for her groceries with her debit card as oppposed to going to the bank getting her money, going to Tops and paying for her groceries with that money!
And of course that incessant rain brought us a leaky roof! So now we are roof shopping, called my nephew to see who put his roof on, and he told me Jimmy, so this AM at 7:30AM I am drinking my coffee and reading the paper, happen to look up and a gentleman was waving at me, through the family room window, it was Jimmy with his estimate!
K we are all intrigued with the 6/18 save the date - more info when available please?
wondering if these gusty winds will hold up the arrival of my sister and B-I-L?
What if they are forced to stay in PHilly?? I am sure it will be fine, as they both are so spontaneous!
Enjoy the day
