A Pictoral Blob

When we're there in the summer Bridal Falls does not flow like this.
I was fortunate that I had a beer on me so I could keep my streak alive; drinking at waterfalls.
It got cooler at night so my friend and I made a blazing fire.
Ahhhhhh.... that's nice.
Emma didn't think so.
The next day we went for a hike and Emma found a salamander.
We don't hike all that far from our site... don't wanna get lost.
Then we went letterboxing... there it is Sandra. We found it.
We had a great time camping even though it was rainy, chilly, windy, etc... Sandra was a trooper letting me have my fall fun.

I would just like to thank my dear cousin Jff for picking up the slack on these blogs! Man we need to pick up the slack people!
Great job, nephew! Great job!
Beautiful fall pictures too!
And a very happy birthday to Cookie!
Have a fabulous day!
Happy Birthday Jll!!! Have a wonderful day! How did Gary behave at obedience school... did you take my advise and shorten up on the leash?
Emma has soccer tonight. Zach , no soccer, so the two of us are off to see "The Rise of the Planet of the Apes".
UB game tomorrow and nothing going on Sunday.
BTW, Sandra took all of those pictures. I think that first one is awesome.
What is everyone going to do on Sunday with no game?
Great job of pics, Sandra!
quick question, what is letter boxing???
It's like geocaching without the GPS. You get clues and you have to find a hidden letterbox. Letterbox.org check it out; it's hiking and finding.
No game... changing Sandra's brake pads, just started to grind today.
Great blog! Thank you jff for posting a blog because there are clearly some slackers in this family! So as you know I may have a slight competitive side. I entered a contest to win hockey tickets. Can my loyal family vote for me by going to the west herr of orchard park facebook page and "like" the picture of Gary (good) and I? They needed a picture of sabres fans. Winner will win tickets to an upcoming sabres game.
So much activity and a brand new blog to boot. A big thank you to nphw jff for updating the blog and providing new visuals. Great pix. A belated HB to nc jll. Hope that you enjoyed your day. Looking for updates on the training of Bronx/good gary. Hope that all is going well with both. Had dinner with the Fixxitts on Fri. nite. Other than that, just me vs. the leaves. No excuse today not to stay busy. Enjoy it.
A beautiful sunday, just beautiful!
Had my mom over for dinner, nothing new there, other than she did not want to stop at the store, apparently she is serious about this every 2 week shopping trip!
we did the Central Terminal tower tour yesterday, maybe daughter will post pictures? But they were taking people up to the 13th floor and you could go out on the balcony and take pictures, it was very cool! You could see the whole city! Very nice! So apparently the refurbish goal is to turn the tower into condo's? Just thinking they would probably be a million plus, and you could live on the east sideof buffalo!
Enjoy the rest of your day, because we all know what tomorrow is!
Sunday WAS gorgeous. What a day!
Now we've got rain in the forecast for this week... ugh. Hopefully it's not too crummy.
Just noticed I have an extra "n" in the word ominous...
Thank you for not busting my chops.
I cast my vote for you, Jenna!
Happy Birthday, Jill! It's never to late to wish someone a happy birthday, is it? (sorry..)
AP, I saw you voted but it didn't take your vote; because it was the wrong picture. Here is the link to vote. Spread the word; I am so determined to beat the other contestants! LOL.

Good mornin' So, what's going on today? Zach has a soccer game (hopefully not in the rain) and Emma has after school math.
Sandra's still in Indiana.
At 431 we are all consumed to win these sabre tickets, everyone needs to vote on FB!
So last nite daughter jenna realized that Sndra had not voted so she proceeds to text her and ask for a favor, and dutiful sandra said of course, but I am out of town and in a meeting! The power of the social media!
Tonight is the first class of Bronx's obedience training, apparently there was a class schedule date mixup, and its parents only! More on that tomorrow.
Dinner and Lion King tomorrow for cookies birthday. We are trying a new restaurant on Franklin, Bambino's will let you know how it is.
Work hard today!
Lion King tonight and Bambino's for dinner, other than that pretty much nothing...
Oh and working....
sort of..........
Yep, Sandra's still in Indy...
Interesting day yesterday.
Emma decided to call an audible on our original "pick up at school" plans and walked home with her friend. Needless to say I was a little worried (and miffed) after waiting for her for 35 minutes and still a no-show.
AND Zach, poor Zach, not only did St. Francis score their first goal of the season, they scored their second too and beat St. Joe's 2-1 for their first win of the year.
You can take it to the bank it wont be the first time you worry!
Lion King was fabulous! And Bambino's yummy food, would highly recommend, even though every type of beer cookie ordered they did not have! Thats why I order good ole Labatts Blue, never ending supply!
thursday, and all forecasters are saying the S word, yes people, Snow! UGH
Just watching the gently falling snow accumulate slightly on the grass outside and knowing that we only have another 6 months or so to look forward to our winter wonderland gets me kinda teary. Heading for Quincy tomorrow for the weekend. Can't wait to see everyone. The drive? that's another issue. Stay warm all. Haven't heard any Christmas carols on the radio as yet. We are all on watch.
Ugh, watching snow fall... it's to early. To take my mind off such matters I'm booking our summer plans. Looks like we're off to Gettysburg next summer. Also on the agenda is Hershey Park, the Harrisburg Senators, the York Revolution and the Lancaster Barnstormers. I just can't keep Sandra away from those ballparks.
Unckie, have you done the Atlantic League yet?
Just saying, I am working on some blog material this weekend.
brrr to a very cool sunday!
I understand my bro and SIL are in boston for the weekend, hope they miss all the bad weather forecasts!
The only thing my daughter is feverishly working on is trying to win Sabre tickets! Working on a blog, maybe the blog is about trying to win tickets! Took in MoneyBall Friday night, I would highly recommend it to all baseball fans and brad pitt fans! Then for the sake of halloween took in Paranormal 3. Lets just say we should try our hand at film making!
Not much planned for the day, Anastasia for dinner, then Steinbrenners for the game...
BOO!
Glad to be back in snowless WNY after surviving the storm of the century in NE. Not too bad at Adam's, maybe 4-5 inches this morning but lots and lots as we travelled west. MASS PIKE stops without power which made for a real mess, but the roads were clear and dry and we got a chance to listen to the Bills win. Great to see Oliver and Audrey as well as Amy and Adam. Back to work tomorrow
Glad you are home EA Holtz's!
Your mom was worried about you!
2 things about the Bills game yesterday. Did everyone see when Thigpen was warming up and he got hit in the head with the ball?
And then when one of the Bills jumped into the stands, the fans in that section actually looked frightened!
Happy Halloween family and friends of the blog, may all your candy be wrapped!
I did see Thigpen get hit in the head... funny.
Unckie and Auntie P, welcome back and we're glad you're home safe.
Unckie, have you done the Atlantic League yet?
Halloween tonight... we still need to get our candy.
Just an update to the Wall St Protest, Buffalo Style
The 5 people left have moved from Niagara Sq to Lafayette Square and are marching.
Hopefully film at 11
Do I need to change my route to work?
Good morning! It's All Saints Day and Sandra's Birthday. Happy Birthday Sandra!
The kids had a really good time last night trick r treatin'. Emma went out as a pirate (her costume was really good) and Zach went out as a Sabres fan. Enjoy your day.
A big HB to Sndr and hope that her birthday celebration dinner consists of more than leftover candy.
Hey, hey...
Good morning all, it's supposed to be a REALLY nice day today. How come I'm at work? I should be out golfing.
Great pics from Atlanta, thanks for sharing the email.
Happy Belated Birthday Sandra! Hope you had a fabulous birthday!
I was a little nervous that nephew had put off purchasing candy til the last day, usually all that is left on the shelf are zagnut bars and baby ruths!
Bronx started obedience training last night and according to cookie she was pretty good, as the instructor did not know her name when they left!
Awesome halloween pix from Atl, thanks for sharing!
Have a great Wed!
ok..ok...I have tried that facebook link 4 times & have been kicked out each time Jnna--can you send it to me again?
Guess what Jff made for my birthday dinner--shark! No teeth though (I thought that was nice of him to remove those)
You're welcome. Black Tailed Shark, it was delicious!
It looks like another nice day out there, at least through the windows from work it looks like a nice day!
I have never been more grateful to see a Friday in my life!!
Black Tailed Shark?? Did you purchase at Budwey's?
Just wondering??
Kind of wary of the Sabres game tonight, but will enjoy it none the less
Have a fabulous friday friends, may it be 4PM before we know it!
The frost was definitely on the pumpkin this morning. Nov. round of golf at Arrowhead yesterday. Chilly, but the sun felt good altho the golf wasn't. Goal for today is to finish final bit of mowing for the season. Sun is out and enjoy the day.
Dash's
Great day yesterday and today looks to be even better.
WOW, that was painful and tomorrow is Monday!
Had mom over for dinner, roast beef and chocolate chip cookies for dessert!
The sunshine was definately the highlight of the day!
Homemade chocolate cookies????
I'm working another half day today to get some stuff done around the house.
Rumor had it that there was brakework at the Pilaf residence and Mr. Fixxitt was on site. Nothing exciting here. Hey, Tuesday is coming
The rumor was true. Beautiful day to do brakes. The sun was out, birds were chirping with delight... yes, it was quite an afternoon.
Election day today!
Veteran's Day on Friday!
Sabres won, but they made me mad watching them...
Can you believe the weather we're going to get today? I guess I took the wrong day off.
With Wed. as one of my day's off, I have come to embrace my new schedule. come on record warmth, altho Auntie's ideas of using it involve washing windows. Sabres? Couldn't watch them. Everytime I turned the game on, they were behind again. Let's hear it for Wed.!!!
Bronxy got called out a couple times in class last night. She was not focused apparently. What 10 month old puppy is?!?!
Man, Wednesday was gorgeous! Oh, hello winter.
How did Gary do at "obedience class"?
Zach, Mr Fixxit and I are off to the Ralph tonight to watch the St. Joe's football game... hopefully it won't be too miserable out. Emma doesn't want to go... smart girl.
Called out! I hated that when that happened! I remember one time in 6th grade the teacher, Mrs Sinicropi asked me who was Charlotte, in Charlotte's Web. Having only looked at the cover of the book, I said quickly and authorotatively, it was the little girl who lived on the farm, which was the cover of the book. Of course after reading the book I was very wrong! FYI to all who do not know, Charlotte was the spider who saved Wilbur the pig.
Happy Thursday!
11-11-11, that is very cool! And its national corderoy day!
So the ride into work, was OK except for the blinding snowstorm along the Niagara Section of the thruway! What was up with that!
Mercifully the "Vote for Jenna "picture campaigne ends today! None to soon I might add!
Now I have to admit I am one person that really does not watch the news, too depressing, but now sports is too!
Grateful its friday!
Well, did the h.s. football attendees stay til the end of what seems to be one of the best h.s. games that I can recall, with the possible exception of Tonawanda-Niagara Falls of 1959. Or did the snow and cold drive you away early? A little disappointing weather-wise today, especially with all of the nice weather that we have had. I am assuming that everyone is off today?? Maybe not. Hey, the weekend is coming.
The best high school game EVER! Yeh... we missed the ending. We left at half time. I've never seen Mr. fixxit shake that much. After fending off the pounding rain, sleet, hail, snow, and then pounding rain again in our first 15 minutes of the game. He bought Zach a hot cocoa and only gave him half a cupful by the time he got back to our seats. Poor lil' guy was shaking more violently than a chihuahua outside up in Fargo winter. We had fun and I'm sorry we missed in the ending... but I'm not going to lie, it was good to be home when we arrived.
A "shout out" to Zach, he got his first quarter report card and nailed a 94.8 average... needless to say we're very proud of him.
I'm sure a few of you have seen Emma's drawing on Sandra's Facebook page. She did a great job, check it out. Maybe Sandra can put it on here.
The kids and I are heading off to Niagara U. tonight for the rivalry hockey game against Canisius. Should be a good game.
Enjoy your day all.
Hope Rick had a great birthday yesterday!
See the NU/Canisus game ended in a tie. Hope you had fun!
Not to much else going on, just waiting for the weekend! Of jnna and austin are off to the hockey game tonight. So that should be fun!
Enjoy hump day all
NU/ Canisius, 1-1 tie... good game and the kids had fun. Emma liked the cotton candy. With a coupon, I spent $24 for the night for 3 tix, 1 cotton candy, 2 drinks and 2 piece of pizzas. Well worth it.
Emma has her boxcar race tonight. I have the car right at 5 oz. and the wheels are smooth on the graphite rubbed axels. Wish her luck.
Hi family! I know I've been absent from the blog. I'll blame the twins. They'll never know.
Things in the ATL are good -- lovely fall weather, still in the 70s here, which is great.
We bought a new house (yay!) and are moving tomorrow! Blob at 11 with details. Its in the same neighborhood, but here's hoping that our neighbors THERE are as much fun as they are HERE.
What else? Oh yeah, my "maternity leave" expired yesterday, but luckily I'm the boss and can unilaterally extend these things! Eric and I will instead switch off around the holidays. Why rush it? I'm not ready for them to be three months old yet!
Congrats to Zach on the great 1st qtr. Nice to see you following in your Dad's academic footsteps. Golf today at Harvest Hill and this might be it for local golf for the season. So do the Sabres really have Ryan's back? Let's see.
Great Job Zach! 94! I dont think your dad ever got a 94, maybe his temperature if he was cold! Keep up the good work!
OMG K! Moving! So lets recap, for 2011, K got married, had twins and moved twice! Unbelievable!
May your home be filled with love, luck and happiness always! I always think of the scene in "Its a Wonderful Life" when Jimmy Stewart welcomes the Martini's to Baily Park, and he prensents them with a loaf of bread that you may never be hungry, salt, that your life is full of spice, and wine, for love, luck and celebration! So I hope your new home is everyting that Jimmy Stewart wishes for new home owners!
Of course last night was the big hockey game that Jnna won the tickets too, you know the one she hounded everyone to vote for her picture! Putrid loss!
enjoy the day
The Sabres were awful last night... It's been awhile since I could digest a whole game. I keep getting gas.
Emma had a pretty fast car last night... just not fast enough.
Austin and I have agreed to not enter contests for awhile. Seeing as we left with 8 minutes left in the game to "beat the traffic," but half of the arena had the same idea too!
There is at least an inche of snow in Tonawanda. That's because I drove the snow from EA to Tonawanda. I was the only one in Administration who had a snow brush in her car. So I was able to help everyone out.
I hope I get a star for the day!
Star indeed!
Not much going on, Sandra has a bad cold and can't get rid of it. We're going to the UB game tomorrow and the weather is supposed to be comfortable, so that'll make Sandra and Emma happy, of course we'll still got some hot chocolate.
We're having our Mission Madness / chinese auction tomorrow at church 2-5, maybe I'll win the Kreuger coffee maker.
Is Chinese auction a politically correct term? I'm just asking?
Talked to my sister today, I quess they are leaving saturday to be to Rick's on Sunday for Thanksgiving on Thursday. This from the woman who yelled at me because I was early to pick her up from the flower show!
has anyone started christmas shopping yet? I have only one gift so far and its for Caroline!
My pirate gift I have to put together, so I need a translator and glue!
Enjoy it!
Beautiful fall day!
Got my hair done, shopped for thanksgiving, washing windows and just battening down the hatches for the winter days ahead!
Enjoy the sun family, one never knows when we will see it again!
Show of hands, which was a worse game this week or last weeks, I can not make up my mind!
OMG! The Bills stink!
The Fixxits had a lil' problem by the PA border on Saturday. A deer (running scared from wild gunfire I imagine) decided to use the 90 as his personal trail. My dad never backing down from a challenge took him head-on. The car lost.
Soooooo, they had to get towed back to Genesee St., they couldn't get another rental because they're under investigation and they couldn't find a witness (obviously the turtle is not talking).
After all that they did arrive and enjoyed yesterday's beautiful NC weather around a fire sipping beers.
So how did they get to Rick's if they could not get another rental car? Your dad did not make your mom hitch again did he???
Back in the day, hiking her skirt would have gotten a truck driver to stop, today, not so much.
Hope everyone was all right? No one was hurt, other than bambi?
Just quessing it probably was your moms fault..I would love love love to have heard the conversation while waiting for the tow truck!
Glad no one was hurt, you know those deer crossing the road have been known to kill people, or is it icicles falling on the road?
Thanks for the update, Jff
Hope Sandra is feeling better!
Under investigation? Did uncle Gary spring for the insurance? I'm glad they are okay! After all this is said and done we all may be part owners in ENTERPRISE. I can't imagine them being victorious against my uncle Gary.
Hope KDH and family are settled in her new home. Anyone up for Black Friday shopping with me? Lint rollers are a steal of a deal at 3am!
So they had to get towed back to the Airport? That couldn't have made the Mister real happy. Auntie B. is absolutely correct in that there should have been a 3rd party present to record the dialogue after the incident. It's too late now. The real story will never come out. Glad that everyone is OK.It's amazing that the damage a deer can do. Safer to stay here in WNY. Nice long weekend coming. I am sure that everyone is looking forward to it. Best part of Sunday's game was watching the crawl across the bottom of the tv hyping ticket sales for the remaining home games. I am sure that there phones were ringing off the hook as the game progressed. People had to be thinking, yes, christmas eve at the Ralph watching these guys. Count me in!!
I was dying when I saw the scroller indicating that there were plenty of tickets remaining and the score was 35-8 Miami. That's our marketing team. They probably saved $7 by advertising during a blow out loss. That was classic!
I'm getting ALL excited about this year's Turkey Bowl and now all of a sudden my hammy is getting tight... sheesh.
One more day to go until Turkey Day! Yahoo!
This could all be snow. A reason to be thankful already. I also give thanks to be off until next monday.
Good first period for the Sabres. Freddie J. out? Is OJ out of the slammer? Can't wait to see Spiller as the feature back. Everybody thought that the Bills were good for 6 wins maybe at the start of the season and then got all giddy. Right now 6 is optimistic. Turkey Bowl blog from nphw jff??
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am so incredibly blessed to have an amazing family.
With that said, Austin and I are heading out Black Friday shopping. We don't have a plan, were just going to "wing it." Wish us luck!
Good to know that there are those out there representing our family on Black Friday. Can't wait for reports! We all need to get twitter accounts so we could be instantly updated. Great day yesterday. Enjoy the long weekend all, at least all who have a long weekend.
