Words do not adequetely express how incredibly proud we are of our Awesome Austin! What a wonderful graduation night that was held at Artpark to honor 200+ graduating seniors. As the
Valedictorian gave a speech that moved everyone to tears; I thought back at the 13 plus years of schooling our Austin has gone through to become the incredible young man he is today. He was left with some parting words that his classmate reminded him to be the person he wants to be, not what someone else wants him to be. That every door contains an opportunity; and there may be some challenges along the way; but take that opportunity and do not look back. She reminded all of us that if you think the best years of your life were high school; just wait to see what the future has in store. I am so looking forward to watching Austin continue to grow into the man he is today, to reach his goals, to follow his dreams.
Our family blog has kept us all together for many years, helped us keep in touch, post and share many of our lifes memories; weddings, births, even exciting and breaking news moments. One thing is for sure; I am truly blessed I have the family I have. Way to go Austin! We love you!!!!!!!!

After the delete, I get to be first!! Great pix and yes, an awesome event. Am looking forward to sat. and shaking this fine young man's hand in person. Way to go Austin! Like the first day of summer, which it is, it's all out there before you. We all only get one shot so make the best of it, make good choices, and don't look back, only ahead. My first day of summer vacation was spent at the ballpark yesterday sitting in the sun, drinking a few beers and eating some peanuts. It was a good start. Let's see what today holds. Enjoy it. See you on Sat.
We are so looking forward to seeing you on Saturday! The comment that was deleted was a comment I posted because in my original post I spelled valedictorian incorrectly and said well since I was never one, I didn't need to spell the world correctly. But then I changed it and all is right. :)
Unkie if you have some free time this summer I would like to get a round of golf in sometime!
Graduation Evening! so much fun, the one piece my daughter did leave off was the confrontation with the woman "holding" 2 rows of seats, 2 rows!! That was not flying with my daughter as we scrambled to find seats, so as my daughter made her way to find security to bring this woman to justice, I moved on found other seats and sat down, my daughter cont the good fight, eventually did walk away, sit next to me and in the end, the woman who lost the two rows she was saving, and the only seat open left for her was next to Jenna! Awkward!
I think everyone once in awhile should go back to a HighSchool Graduation Ceremony, it does the soul good to see such optimism, that each and every graduates believes they can change the world!
It does the soul good!
What can I say about our Austin, so very proud of him, in this world of chaos, he remains calm and steadfast. So very much looking forward to Saturday, much love to all.. We could not have done it without you!!!
Just one more graduation note the Valedictorian quoted Ronald Reagan, which got a rounding cheer, the Salutorian, quoted Barack Obama! which got a smattering of boo's...
It's here! A lot of prep work has gone into this day and rest assured there will not be a shortage of food, drinks, volleyball, swimming (gram is the honorary lifeguard), and fun. It's so hard to believe that our Awesome Austin; who has grown so quick before my eyes, will now enter the next chapter in his life. Proud is an understatement. He has an opportunity to change the world, and mark my words; he will. A special thank you to everyone for coming out to share in his day. I could not thank you enough. First volleyball game starts at 1pm; GAME ON!
Congratulations to the graduate! Thinking of you all today and wishing we were in WNY for a great day with family!
A really great party yesterday and a lot of hard work went into making the event happen. Good food, good company and a fine young man to honor. I can't believe that it was my first trip ever to the Fort. Best of luck Austin. You have worked hard and good things come to reward effort. You go man!!
What a great day yesterday! Seeing Austin smile and have a great time with friends and family made it all worth while. Thank you so much for sharing in his special day. Unkie and AP thank you so much for bringing GG. Austin was so happy to see her.
Kind of glad to be back to work! As the weekend was a whirlwind!
Friday night we decided to rent a high speed sander, to sand the deck so we can restain it, for the the COTGW. Not sure why we thought that was a good idea, but suffice to say glad it was the brightest moon ever, as Geo certainly needed it! We are moving slow but sure towards the COTGW, my sister periodicaly stops in to check our progress, but she always stops when I am on break!!! Not sure why that works out that way??
My brother leaves on vacay today, travel safe, have a great time!
Well, all the new residents start today, so I will be busy! Have a great day, Family!
Thanks for all the support and love for Austin! meant the world to the Koch's!
Great lob! Sorry it took me so long to join the comments. Congrats again Austin, we're all proud of you.
Congrats to the grad! Proud of you!
Happy wed! Very busy at work, as all the residents have started at all the hospitals, just warning everyone stay healthy as these new residents all basically look 12!
Other than that, the Rice's are home safe and sound, the Holtz's are on the road, and rumor has it a big announcement is coming out of Quincy???? is it the bruins lost the cup, the bruins lost the cup?? enjoy this day and all that it brings!
The Rices are heading out again in all different directions. Sandra's off to San Antonio. Emma's off to Camp Pioneer and Zachary and I are off to Maryland.
But first, we have to make it through the week.
So we are down to two weeks to the COTGW. today the tree trimmer comes, so I can check that off my to do list! Saturday is deck stainging day, and Sunday is Cathy's picnic, then 4th of july and the summer is over! Just kidding! But it does seem to fly by, now doesnt it! Campaign is coming along, last evening there was a bit of a hullaballoo, 2 people were spotted with "walk sheets" and badges, the candidate and her campaign manager thought someone was trying to undermine there petitions, turns out it was just the direct TV salseman going door to door! Enjoy the day and all that it brings!
Rain, rain, rain... Bummer. I'd like to be outside at night.
Unkie, how are those Mosquitos out you way?
Happy Monday, July 1st! Hope my brother had a fabulous birthday, so wait he is our west?? right? Where its 120 degree's?
Hope my s-i-l is able to recharge her battery, and get some much needed rest, so not to many rounds of golf AP in the sweltering heat.
Yesterday cousin Cathy had a picnic at her new home in Lewiston, was a lovely afternoon!
UPdate on the COTGW, I am a little behind, the constant rain has put us about a week behind, so it will take some doing to catch up, but I am confident, all tasks will be completed by 07/12!
The Rice men are off on a baseball excursion, have fun!
All in all, have a great day!
In Durango co trying to avoid the fires and flash floods. Auntie as always a good sport with Singaporeans Alyson baseball and lots of stops at national parks. Home on Thursday.heard there has been lots of rain
It amazes me the Koch family has made it this far. My parents have worked tirelessly on the campaign and garden walk and it seems every available opportunity we can spend on both; it rains. Frustrating to say the least. But, we keep plugging away. Enjoy the day!
My Husband and I were in Durango Co about 35 years ago! Great place! Bro the rain is ridiculous, you will come home to jungle of grass to cut! Hope you are having a great time! The only thing thriving in my yard is mushrooms!
Jeff posted his pix of the campsite on FB, and the camper appears to be dangerously close to the ledge?? Is UG a sleepwalke?
Just asking
Happy Tuesday on this short week!
Wow, not much action with Unc and AP away. Zachary and I are back from our trip. We saw some really god games, homers in every game and even a grand slam. The food was good and the stadiums were very cool.
I do a blob soon.
