As we all gear up for important milestones this year, we must pause and recognize we wouldn't be able to reach those milestones without the leader of our trip our great-grandpa, Gramps, and father, Charles F. Holtz. Sr. We will get together in March to raise a glass, share a laugh, possibly shed a tear for one of the reasons we are all here. Happy Birthday, Gramps!

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 310 of 310I have to apologize for all of my recent run on sentences with lack of capitals/punctuation,etc It seems as if I have been doing battle with my keyboard. Randomly it will move the cursor, throw in an uncalled for letter or two, or just randomly delete an entire paragraph. So I have been typing in haste. I have decided that life is too short for poor grammar, spelling and punctuation. I expect more of me. Happy Tuesday!!
Glad to hear your friend is mending.
Cousin Matthew made it with his two boys for Sunday grilling. We ate, I made up a fire and then his boys enjoyed some Smores. We had a nice talk around the fire too.
Sandra's busy, busy, busy with church band stuff. So goes summer.
Happy Tuesday!
So lets recap. Thank you Jff/Sndra for hosting Sunday's picnic. Matthew, and his two boys did make it in, around 6PM, hungry and exhausted! The food was delicious and the company was wonderful! We did hear back from the Cape Cod crew, that he did arrive yesterday around 6:30, so everyone was very grateful for the hospitality shown. So Joanna, Rebecca, Matthew and Sara, are all pretty close to each other with Matthew being closer to Boston, but near enough to support each other, I am thinking that would make John very happy. Sad that he missed this.
Geo has finished in home PT, and will start out patient PT.
He is feeling better, and is hoping to just keep feeling better. I hope Don is on the mend as well.
Hotlanta is back in school, that just seems so wrong!
We are trying to coordinate our flight with Barb, for the birthday bash, something we should have done all along! But maybe this time we will get it right!
Other than that, I got a post card that John's grave marker has been placed. Thank you for all the help in getting that done!
Have a Farm to Table dinner tonight at Webster's, very much looking forward to that!
Other than that, July is gone, and now on to August!
Good luck with your second tour, do you need additional support?
Well keep us posted!
Enjoy the rest of this day!
Go Vlad!
Zach went to see Vlad last night. Sandra and I chilled out in the backyard with friends. That was our Tuesday night. Boring and perfect.
First pro football game of the season tonite. Hard to believe that another season is rolling around. in the Southtowns. Was contemplating the Bisons game today but it seems like a lot of effort. Enjoy our thursday
Sandra and I were saying the same thing. We were looking to go to the Bisons and then just sat around on Tuesday night.
Tonight is Canalside concert Dark Star Orchestra! A couple beers and and then nighty night.
I have tried for a few days now, to post some very witty, enlightening and world changing comments.
And for some reason, I cant, I get a twirling circle of trying to process.
Is there a photo ID requirement for posting now that I was not aware of?
Well that posted, and now I got nothing!
I to buy groceries today but Tops refused me because I had left my driver's license at home. Note to self--always be prepared for ANYTHING. I hope that everyone else has better luck in your daily endeavors, enjoy the weekend,
so our historical stumble part two came off yesterday without a hitch. A much smaller group with only Barb and Joe and Eric and Michelle. I threatened them with a quiz and they were all well behaved. Again, the high point seemed to be the stop at the theater for popcorn. The Jewettville Holtz kids spent the night as Adam was out celebrating his birthday. Another week looms before us and it is a bit toasty today to say the least. Hope that everyone had a great weekend. We started ours friday with the Fixxitts at the Aqua Grille so it was pretty busy, for us at least. Take care
Glad you had an enjoyable Friday night.
We had a busy weekend painting and redecorating our living room (and I ripped apart our dishwasher to clean the filter). Sandra got inspired and it took off from there. We're not 100% done; still have trim to do and then of course touch ups, but it's a huge difference and very nice. We had a little hiccup when I told her I was DONE for the day and she then lifted a light into the ceiling fan while it was going. Oh well...
I think that we would all have to admit that if nothing else, it was a great weekend to watch a little MLB on tv. My new favorite big leaguer is Steve Pearce, right? Home projects are always a lot of fun, Stay cool
UGH to Monday and the beginning of a short work week!
The Everett's are off to the west coast to celebrate their anniversary on Thursday and that means twin duty, and all hands on deck!
Hope Adam had a great birthday!
Glad to hear the second Hold my beer history tour went off with out a hitch!
I am sure they were an enthusiastic group, that hung on every word!
Geo is doing better every day!
Other than that, noting to much else to chat about!
Way to warm for any house projects, even out door projects are tough to complete!
Stopped by the cemetery to insure John's grave stone was placed, and it was.
Baseball was far to painful! I always wonder what Steinbrenner would have done when the Yankees have a weekend like they did this past weekend!
On a lighter note, the Bills play this week, so here's hoping they have a better than average season!
Enjoy this day!
Boy! Was it sticky last night.
Last night my buddies came over to the backyard for our First Vinyl Night. 8 of us sat outside, listened to old vinyls that we all shared and retold stories. Great night! Humid Night! Some of the highlights were Crosby Nash Live; ZZ Top Tres Hombres: Neil Young On The Beach; AC/DC Back In Black; and Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon.
Rain, possible tornado's, more rain, welcome to Wed!
Hope everyone is battened down this morning!
Saw my sister for a bit yesterday, she said that she had a most enjoyable lunch with her brother and his lovely wife!
So George has officially become a watch for the mailman watcher! Looking for disability checks, insurance checks, any kind of currency that may show up at our door! Good to know the postal service is still relevant!
Our good friend Heather fell, on Sunday, and shattered her knee cap! So keep her in your prayers for a speedy recovery!
tonights Warrior Walk is Gastown, which is a great walk! Who's who of Tonawanda used to live in Gas Town! So lets see if this gets off, with all this impending rain!
Bills play tomorrow night, show of hands, who can not wait!!! just as I thought!
Yankees are back to winning, so that is always great news!
Still trying to get to a Bisons game! Time is running out!
Always seems like so much work to get there, then I settle in my seat, upper deck 3rd base side with my ice cold beer, and then I wonder why I don't come more often!
As summer winds down, it always seems like there was a lot of time to get things done, but now not so much!
As always enjoy your day, and all that it brings your way!
We are still 0 for Bisons too. Where is the summer going?
Maybe this weekend? Are they even in town?
We took Sandra's parents out to dinner last night to celebrate their 54th Anniversary on 8/9 to The Place on Lexington. We sat outside on the patio and really enjoyed ourselves. I'm really digging this Place. If you get a chance, check it out.
Nothing tonight.
Beatles Rooftop tomorrow at Hydraulic Hearth, but first we have to pick up Emma from camp.
Friday: Shakespeare in the Park; Much Ado About Nothing.
We picked up Ms. Em last night from Camp Pioneer, traveled north up 5 and had a lovely meal on the water at The Public House on the Lake. Emma was dying for "food", most of what was being served she didn't like so her diet all summer consisted of bread and water. So we were told.
Tonight we're off to Shakespeare In The Park!!!
Well I am sure that Adam st. has been a busy place this week tending to the twins. Travelled to Batavia on friday nite to meet up with our friends the Marlins from Rochester. Friday nite was concert nite at the racetrack so we sat outside with a sandwich and drinks listening to Leeann Womack. Not bad for a freebie. Today it appears that the Jewettville Holtz family minus amy who will be working, will be coming over for a cookout This week puts us into the second half of August. Watched the first quarter of the bills on thurs. I can't believe that Camp pioneer can get away with feeding the counsellors bread and water. There needs to be an investigation!! Have a good week all
4 days of the twins, and a recovering George, has left me pretty much exhausted!
the minute mom and dad arrived yesterday, I flew out of Lorelee!
We did have lots of fun, attended the Teddy Bear picnic at the Carousel museum, hit up play grounds and splash pads, and tried our best to entertain 2 1/2 year olds as best we can!
Other than that, I think the big news is the Chris Collins story, who saw that coming?? I think everyone did!
Looking at getting out of Dodge, in September to go to Cooperstown. Geo has not been there since Mickey Mantle was enshrined, so time to revisit!
Looked at staying at the Otsego Inn, was a little shocked at their prices, so will probably stay some place else!
Other than that, back to work and its a Monday
Happy Birthday David! Hope you have a wonderful day!
I used to go to FMA (Financial Manger's Assoc) Conferences in Cooperstown every other May. I had the pure pleasure of staying at the Otsego Inn. I used to imaging what it was like with the likes of Mickey Mantle rocking in his chair on the back patio smoking a cigar, having a drink and talking baseball with his peers. Did Mickey Mantle have peers? Anyway, Cooperstown is awesome! I still get email alerts from the Otsego for events. I would love to take Sandra there one day.
Its Tuesday!
And raining no less!
Henry got a back to school haircut, so he was pretty happy with that!
Happy birthday tomorrow Ms Elizabeth and Ms. Charlotte! How time flies!
Ugh to the Yankees losing to the Mets!
Neither George, Jenna or I are running for Chris Collins seat.
Only a handful of Bisons games are left!
I had received a notice that the COT Library had received a donation in John's name, from his graduating class. So that was nice to see!
Other than that, not to much else is going on!
Enjoy Tuesday! Whats left of it!
Another week is rapidly coming to a close and so is the summer. We have our marching orders for babysitting in Atlanta as K and E are apparently heading west for a week in Sept, Pretty quiet in the southtowns. The Cooperstown idea sounds good and that Inn is beautiful. Not surprised that nphw jff would have first hand experiences there. second preseason game at hand for the Bills already. Enjoy
Happy Thursday! It appears that Jeff is on vacation, as pictures appear on facebook.
Hope they have a wonderful time at the resort!
We may be scrapping Cooperstown for Florida, if George is cleared to fly.
Have plans for Disney in March with the twins.
Other than, Geo now heads the neighborhood watch committee, and pretty much knows the comings and goings of everything relevant to our block on Adam!
Between work, and summer winding down, not to much else to report on.
Hoping to get to some Bison's games next week
Bills and Cleveland tomorrow
Still kind of muggy for my liking, but hey, winter is a few short months away!
Enjoy this day and all that it brings!
Happy B-day to our twins. Sounds as if a big day is planned for after school. Auntie is out shopping and the big plan here is for a trip on sunday to the Erie Seawolves with oliver and his dad and I. Reports to follow. Bills game tonite and I will try again for an entire first quarter. Reports to follow, Did get the lawn mowed yesterday prior to the rainfall. That is the report on that. So much excitement out this way. Enjoy the weekend
Had a great trip to Erie yesterday to see the Seawolves in action.Oliver got a game ball courtesy of the Bowie Baysox first baseman, father and son had a catch on the field after the game, Oliver ate his way thru nine innings and the drive both ways went smoothly. Looks to be the start of a summer tradition, next stop, the Muckdogs of Ba=avia, Looks like the Bisons on thursday for me as the summer winds down, Keep the faith
We loved the Erie Seawolves game; a very cool stadium.
Sandra and I had a FANTASTIC vacation. The weather was hot and humid, then cloudy, rainy and humid. There was a few things we wanted to do but didn't/ couldn't. We had a fun-tastic Saturday Night at Lightburn's Restaurant with Bo, Nicole and Kylie; our new best friends.
The work week is winding down, we have been in the middle of a quality survey, so work has been pretty hectic!.
Bo, Nicole and Kylie, are those the Kardashians???? I think fantastic and vacation are two words that always go together!
Geo is off to the Bisons game today, with our good friend Heather.
I had a sweatshirt on last night??? anyone else?
Geo's brother Bob is coming to visit in October for a few days, so its always good to see him, and with him on board, the Liberal bias conversation will reach an all time high! Love him and his passion for social justice!
Back to School drive tonight at the High School
We have been busy getting the twins ready for pre school!
Geo is loving not working, and he is an active participator with every FaceBook live event!
He is still going to therapy, but feels great, and is healing nicely!
Hard to believe the summer is winding down, I was thinking about it yesterday, May and June I devoted the time to settling John's estate, July George had is surgery, and now its August, and I have mentally put together a caledar of how long I have to work. If the Medicare rules would loosen up, I would be gone tomorrow!
But you gotta do what you gotta do, til you don't have to.
Oh well, long weekend next weekend, just waiting for this weekend!
Sounds like the Cookies are all doing well. Great to hear Uncle George is recovering at a quick pace. I'm glad he's going to a Bisons game. I'm hoping we can still catch one.
No sweatshirt... it felt great to be chilly.
FRIDAY!!! Lewiston Jazz Festival. Great Lake Swimmers in Cleveland. Bills Game.
In that order.
Enjoy your weekend!
Here is hoping that my favorite nphw named jff had a GREAT !! birthday weekend, Enjoy!
Happy Happy Birthday Nephew Jeff!
And what else can be posted or commented on today really?
Oh how horrific the Bills were?
The unbridled arrogance of the Bishop?
How the Yankees have made up 4 games! thank you Tampa Bay!
The idiocy of #45?
Nope none of those, only birthday wishes to the one person I know who enjoys every minute of his life! Cheers Jeff!!!!
Thanks!!!
Jazzfest and Cleveland was fun.
Emma's first day of school at Canisius is today.
Tonight we're heading up to Sunset Grill with friends to get my free birthday wings!
Sunset Grill was fun-tastic last night. Wings were delicious! Sandra got the Salmon and loved it. What a gorgeous night too sitting out on the patio.
Looks like summer heat is not yet done. The summer/birthday of nphw jff continues. I salute you my boy!! Hope that all went well for nc Emma as she embarks on her college career. The Jewettville Holtz family minus Dad are all in Mass for what apears to be a hot week up that way. Got nothin' planned for this week at all, seems that I am using this week to recover from last week's baseball/golf, etc. Enjoy it while it lasts folks,
Hey its Tuesday!
Hope Nephew had a wonderful birthday!
Seems like he did some things which he enjoys doing, and that is what birthdays are about!
School Board meeting tonight, soon to be back in the swing of things!
Twins had their meet their classmates picnic last night, good time had by all!
There are 3 Henry's in the class, and Gwenn was thrilled that cup cakes and cookies were served! Oh to be a fly on the wall!
Huge crowd at the Bisons game last night!
Yankees lost a stinker!
Still no starting quarterback named for the Bills?
Other than that, not to much else happening!
As August winds down, enjoy!
Pretty soon your furnace will kick on!
Good Luck as a Golden Griff Ms Emma!
Gooood morning! Emma's college career is starting with a "meh". She's sick, nervous, stressed, etc...
Hopefully things get better soon.
We had an enjoyable evening last night with good friends at the Irishman on Main St. The road is being ripped up, jack-hammered and anything that sounds like a Who concert circa 1976.
Dinner was great, but we did not sit outside... just too loud.
Busy weekend coming up:
Friday, Fantasy Football Draft
Saturday, The Place Street Party and then Wingfest
Sunday, grilling for Sandra's family
Poor Miss Emma! It will get better, we promise!
She will make friends, join activities, and it will become the best time of her life! wait and see!
Not sure what our weekend holds.
Geo is doing better, the twins start pre school on Wed, I am 32 months away from retirement unless the Medicare Rules change, and life goes on...
Bills game tonight, wonder who the starting quarterback is???
Yankees lost!
Other than that, not to much else is happening
Enjoy today, and tomorrow, and to the working folk the long holiday weekend!
So it's Memorial Day and then you blink a few times and it's Labor Day. Hope that everyone had an enjoyable one. Very quiet in the southtowns, Met the jewettville Holtzes for ice cream on sunday to welcome them all back to wny from their trip to patriotland, Sounds as if they had a good altho hot visit. Kids don't go back to school until thursday. Figure that one out? Another warm week on the horizon but better here than the gulf coast. Enjoy
Ahhh September! sunny days and cool crisp nights! At least that is what everyone is hoping for! Kind of a quiet weekend, lots of yard work, some twin time, some pool time, some drinking wine time, and now back to work!
I can once again state the Yankee's lost!
AJ McCarron has been shipped off to Oakland, of which Brent Musberger should be extremely Happy! Remember AJ is married, to the former Ms Alabama, Brent made some school boy comments about her... Good Luck AJ!
Other than that, not too much else happening..
Primary day is next week, if you can, get out and VOTE!
Will update everyone on how the twins do tomorrow... It should be interesting!
On a sad note, saw on Face Book, that Laura Trosin Abraham's husband Tom had passed away over the previous weekend. It looks like the family was together for a family wedding, and he passed after that. So sorry for the Trosin Family loss.
The world news is not worth mentioning!
And Football starts this weekend! Do we all have a renewed hope?
Enjoy today and all that it brings your way!
GO BILLS
Happy Tuesday! We had a fun filled weekend. Well, at least I did!
Friday was our football draft and the football gods like my team. "They" say I'm playoff worthy. So I got that going for me.
Saturday was work, relax, then Chicken Wing Fest!
Sunday I grilled for Sandra's family after church then we had friends over for drinks and brie... delish.
Labor Day, I labored for a bit... then took a nap.
We took Ms Em back to Canisius and came home and had a drink... that was our weekend.
Happy Wed!
The Everett Twins headed off to pre-school at 8:30 this morning!
Film at 11, on that one!
Jill noted the child in front of her on the stairs that was screaming he did not want to go into the classroom, had a runny nose! I told her to start hoarding her sick days!
The Yankees won, so that is great news
Seattle lost
Did anyone else try to order Bob Woodward's book, Fear? Yea me neither.
PBS, on sunday had the Ken Burns Series on Viet Nam, so interesting!
UGH to this humidity!
Geo is doing better every day!
Gary's Dad had hip replacement in August and he is doing great too!
Love all the back to school pix on Face Book!
Sent Ms Emma a card with a suggestion of going to a new coffee shop that is by Canisus! Hope she is doing better!
Other than all of this , nothing else is really, new , interesting or exciting.
I think I like life that way!
Oh thumbs down on Brett Kavanuagh, for the record...
Enjoy your day, and all the things that come your way!
Hm.
This humidity is incredible... I'm thinking the Canadians have something to do with it. Maybe they're trying to keep it so warm we can't grow any ice ponds and then that gives them a leg up on the race for Lord Stanley's Cup??? I'm just thinking out loud.
Ms Em is doing better. I'm sure she'd love to receive a letter (and thank you).
Big weekend in Buffalo... so much going on.
Music Is Arts Festival
Peach festival
Taste E. A.
Hamburg Brewery 's 5th Anniversary
Jefferson Ave. Art Festival
Pick one and enjoy!
Loved the pic of the twins on their first day of school. Sounded as if Mr. Ben had a good first day too. Glad to see that the heat and humidity have let up a bit. Wed. nite was brutal in our non-airconditioned home, 82 at bedtime with 81% humidity. Thank goodness for the t-storms about midnight. Got to get the lawn cut before Gordon arrives on sunday. Time to start watching football for real?? All of nphw jff's suggestions sounded good but I have a hunch that we will opt for none of the above. Lamenting the loss of Burt Reynolds. Love many, not all, of his pics. Enjoy folks.
Hip Hop Hooray its Friday in the work world, and its been a short week, yet the longest week ever!
School board work is in full swing, and last nights it was the Delegate meeting, which just about every school district in WNY had a stadium referendum, capitol project either in the works, or just completing, and in the same breath you are given an article about how participation in High School Athletics is declining.
So is this the smartest way to spend your tax dollars? Brand new expensive fields with astro turf, for minimum amount of participation?
I guess we all just hope we are doing the right thing, voting for the right issues and the right person.
Enough of the civic lessons for the day.
Work is work, nothing new there. 04/02/2021, seems so far away!
sigh...
Thank you nephew for posting everything that can be done this weekend! You failed to mention American Idol tryouts at Canalside???
Not to sure what this weekend holds? At 4PM today I will have an amazing list of fun, exciting, and wonderful plans.
At 8PM Sunday evening I will be looking through the dirty clothes basket attempting to find something bearable to wear to work! And gotten nothing done!
All this leads me to what tomorrow is... I still find it amazing how much she is missed! Love always Mom!
Enjoy today and every day
You just never know!
Oh one more education item, the Everett twins were the only two in their classroom that could correctly identify the Cheetah during story hour!
Thank you Buffalo Zoo Membership!
I watched until the bills got a first down and that was about 3;30. I give myself an " A" for both persistence and loyalty. It may be the only one this season so at least I saw it. Yeah for me!! When does the Sabres season start?
Sooooo....
what a gray day! Lets start right off the bat with the Bills game, how putrid could they be! Coupled with Texts from our New England Family, who were all attending the Pukepatriots home opener.... It was a brutal brutal day
I finally went to HBO on demand and watched the Winston Churchill movie, the darkest hour, which was a true reflection of the Bills game, and I must say it was an excellent movie! Anyone who likes history, I think would like this movie!
So this morning of all mornings my car opener did not not work, I actually had to put the key in the lock??? Of course all through a driving rain storm, juggling the days worth of work things! Murphy's Law!
Saw my sister on Saturday, she looks the same
Saw on FaceBook that Bobby Lingard passed away Saturday morning.
The Trosin family has taken quite the hits lately. He was a nice guy, married Peach at 16, and they did stay together! His funeral is Sunday in Coburg, Ontario
if anyone is thinking of attending.
And the Yankee's lost, how do you have bases loaded and no outs and not score?
Mind boggling!
I agree when does Hockey start!
Other than that, it is Primary Week, get out and vote if you can!
Here is hoping Rick and Stacy avoid the Hurricane
Here is hoping the Bills can regroup and at least be respectable next week
Here is hoping Voter turnout on Primary Day, is significant!
And here is hoping everyone has a great week!
Also wondering how our Charleston SC folks will deal with the impending storm. Hope that they have a convenient place to go. Wondering too if the sun will ever appear again.Quietly dreary here in the southtowns. Always a difficult time of the year with Mom's passing and 9/11 so close together. Maybe we can all jump on the UB football band wagon for a boost. First full week of school for all of our kids. Funny story about Ben falling asleep on the school bus on the way home the first day. He claims that he was awakened by his sister "stabbing him with a pen" when they got to their stop. The lad has a story for all occasions. Off to Hotlanta on sunday for our babysitting gig, storm not withstanding. Enjoy hump day tomorrow
So with a change in the storm's direction, it appears that Hotlanta is in play. Who knows what that means as far as sunday is concerned. Just have to wait and see I guess. Looks like kid duty tonite as Mom and Dad Holtz are off the kindergarten open house. Never understood the logic of meeting parents after you have had the kids a total of 5 days but I was never a decision maker when it came to those kinds of things. I always blamed it on the BOE, sorry sis. Have a good one.
Ooooh BOE throwdown... now it's getting good.
Rick is on his way to Asheville (I'm assuming Stacy is with him). Sometimes I just don't read the whole text.
Soooo... in my early predictions I had the Bills going 13-3 (the schedule looked easy to me). After Sunday's game I revised my original prediction just a bit. I now see them going 0-13 and then just quitting the season and going home. They're brutal! Unckie; kudos to ya... I was watching the Hallmark Channel before halftime.
I am in the weeds with BOE concerns, late busses, teachers, distinguished alumni, you name it!
so one of the more enjoyable things in life, after reading twitter comments to 45's tweets, are FaceBook conversations between my sister and her youngest! The most recent was a picture of Rick's Brewery, I will call it his for lack of a better term and not quite knowing the name, and in this picture were 2 people staring at their phones, and my sister commented that the clientele did not look to chipper being that they were in a fun place. Rick commented the picture was of employees, the brewery was closed due to the impending hurricane.... kind of funny
My sister called and left me a message today, Rick is on his way to Asheville and Stacy is also on her way, but not traveling together.
Probably more to come on that one!
Current weather reports do not sound too promising on getting to Hotlanta on Sunday, brother.... What is plan B
Other than that
Twins are doing good in school
George is still working hard to get better, I gotta be honest with ya, I don't think he needs his cane in the house. Would it be bad if I kept it locked in my car?
Cathy and I were thinking of driving to Bobby's funeral on Sunday, but it is 3 hours to Coburg, so sending a condolence card instead.
Speaking of Cathy, she has put in an application to become a foster Mother.
So Josh Allen was named as the starting QB today for Sunday. Does that change anyone's game predictions at all? Did everyone see what Fitzpatrick did for Tampa against New Orleans? Brutal
But hey its Wednesday!
Enjoy it!
That I-26 in and out of charleston is a mess under optimum conditions so I can't imagine what it must be like now. They are still saying cloudy with a 20% chaance of showers in Hotlanta for sunday but watching the hurricane coverage map that doesn't seem too likely. Plus, according to internet reports, the storm is so powerful that it is sucking sharks up into the eyewall, glad that the Rice's are evacuated. I hate not knowing what is going to happen travelwise, but I will have to wait and see. The good news is that if the sunday flight goes as scheduled i will be in the air during the bills game. Loved nphw jff's season prediction. He may well be correct about abandoning the season. Still waiting to see the sun.UG needs one of those hurrycanes that i see ads for on tv. Take care all.
Hey its Friday! The Bills are an 8 point underdog! I am thinking they come out guns a blazing.... Fred Jackson will be there, Sheriff Howard has banned table smashing and the RV lot was already booked up! Should be an interesting game!
So the update from the twins pre school was that Samantha had an accident, nothing else going on!
Gwenn has kind of honed in on Samantha as a friend, as Henry has moved on from just playing with his sister!
Other than that, the weather should be beautiful!
So my brother who is a weather aficionado, is abandoning sunny and 84, to hurricane conditions? Travel safe, and your plans will all be finalized in due time!
No surprise in the primary
Except I always get behind the person that thinks he can vote, but cant, because he is registered to a party that does not have a primary!
Work is work
And other than that, nothing much else is going on
Enjoy this beautiful upcoming weekend
Go Bills
Its Monday, and I can't even!
How? Why? Who? What? When? and sometimes Y?
The weather was sublime! If quite possibly to warm! if that is even possible!
Rick posted on face book that he was returning to Charleston today, so hopefully that goes well!
Kind of a lost weekend, with just house stuff getting done.
Spoke with Austin, he had hoped to come into Tonawanda over the weekend, as he works 11 days on and 3 days off. He is working for the Storm CleanUp Company, and he was deployed the Carolina's. So hopefully, sometime soon we can catch up with Mr. Austin!
Hope my brother and his beautiful wife arrived in Hotlanta, unscathed and happy get there!
It looked like nephew Jeff and his lovely wife had a busy busy weekend!
And other than being hopelessly embarrassed to be a bills fan, not to much else is going on!
September is winding down, and pretty soon, the weather will be out topic of discussion!
Enjoy this day and everyday all things that come your way!
I'm back from the ADK! We had an awesome time hiking, kayaking, fishing (no, no fish) and sleeping in a hammock (a little chilly).
I got in 2 hikes, one that should have been counted as a high peak. I can't even explain to y'all how steep this bad-boy was. I can't believe I didn't catch any fish. A couple of the other guys caught some 4" perch. Yeah!!!
Next year: Long Lake to the Racquette River.
So here we are at Wed already! Who knew!
Yea to a Yankee win! Hip hip hooray!
So Monday on 09/24, is Sara's birthday. (John's youngest)
She has struggled with John's death, as they all have, but she seems to have struggled the most. So Jenna and I decided to get out of Dodge, take a quick trip up to Cape Cod,mmm well and 8 hour drive to cape cod, and celebrate her birthday this weekend.
work has been UGH, Life with a recovering George has been UGH, and so on...
So we are leaving tomorrow after work, staying in Albany and then heading up to Cape Cod on Friday morning
So those are our plans this weekend
Other than that, nothing else is really new
Dreading the Bills game, can I say that???
And ... the end of summer! Boo
Nothing from my brother, so hoping they got to Hotlanta OK!
Enjoy Wed!
I pretend the end of summer is Labor Day Weekend, that way I get to enjoy a gorgeous fall; my favorite season BTW.
Have fun in Cape Cod, tell them we said hi.
Busy, busy this weekend; Friday night is Ballpark Brewbash, then Saturday and Sunday is Borderland Music Festival down at Knox Farm, EA. Should be fun!!!
Happy Thursday! Yea to an awesome Yankee win!
Boo to the MSNBC Commentator who, when he had to read that the Buffalo Niagara Airport was second in Customer Satisfaction in Service, noted," I'm surprised, people still fly to Buffalo"? He was promptly schooled by just about everybody!
Boo - to the 18 point underdog tag on the Bills!
Boo - to the " storm" we are suppose to get Friday! Geo has been diligently reseeding our lawn, so here is hoping our grass seed does not blow away!
Yea - to nephews full plans this weekend!
Yea - whatever else is good and great going on in your life!
So Hey, enjoy it!
Happy to be back in WNY after a very hot--92-95 everyday in Hotlanta. Seems that K and E had a good time in Vegas and hiking in Zion park. Girls were great and it was a VERY busy week, certainly by our standards, taking care of business and getting everyone to their appointed rounds but we survived. Back just in time to catch a totally unexpected Bills win. That big crash you heard was me jumping on the Josh Allen bandwagon. I don't care if he ever does anything else, that vault over the Viking player for a first down solidified him in my heart. Looks as if everyone had busy times with the Adirondacks and Cape Cod. Sorry about the lack of fish nphw and kudos to my sister for logging a thousand miles to help celebrate a b-day in "enemy" territory. Hope that the week goes well for all. Collecting my patio umbrella from the back yard would seem to indicate a bit of a blow this past week at some point.
Yep, a little breeze came through the area. Glad you guys are home safe.
What is with the national media? First the NFL Network suggests, "A bet the Buffalo Bills wished that hadn't given up on Tyrod Taylor?" (1-11 for 2 yards, gets hurt, then replaced as starter). Then before last night's game they say, "I betcha Buffalo still wishes they had Fitzpatrick?" (3 INTs in the first half, one being a pick six).
Dude.
Dudes in the National Media.
Taylor was awful. Fitz, great guy, mediocre QB.
These guys drive me crazy.
Well here we are on Tuesday!
Yes we did drive 1,000 miles to spend 3 days in Cape Cod. It is always a worthwhile drive!
So we left Thursday after work, and stayed in Northampton, Ma. A great little town associated with multiple universities, Holyoke, Smith, UMass, Boston, the NBA hall of fame, busy little place. Just a tad to ambitious for nighttime driving!
But got there safe and sound, had a great breakfast across from the Northampton Library, was everyone aware that Calvin Coolidge died in Northampton? Yea, me neither!
So Friday night we were going to surprise Sara at a restaurant with everyone, and we did and we had so much fun! Saturday, Sara and her BF, Harry hosted a huge picnic that so reminded me of the ones mom and dad hosted, with Joanna, Rebecca, Matthew and Sara, and all their kids playing together, and enough food to feed a Russian army! Weather was beautiful and so was the company!
We left a tad bit late on sunday and paid the ultimate traffic price as we did crawl along for an eternity to get to the NYS thruway!
Jenna does have Sirious Radio, so we did get the bills game which would cut out just before a score, and of course it was Minnesota announcers, but it was fun to listen too!
All in all, it is always wonderful to reconnect with John's kids, and let them know that we are here!
At 431 we are preparing for the arrival of Geo's brother Bob. I am hoping the Kavanaugh investigation is over before he arrives, as he makes the most liberal of liberal's look conservative! It should be interesting! But hey he is family!
Henry is suffering from an ear ache, and both kids have had non stop runny nose and cough since the first day of school! I guess that is the price you pay!
Busy week this week! School board tonight, Boys and Girls Fundraiser tomorrow, Thursday, there is a Service Fair at St Francis, that Geo and I volunteered for, well Jenna volunteered us for, I should say... And Friday is Friday
I agree with my brother, the replay of Josh Allen leaping over the Minnesota linebacker is stuff legends are made of! Lets hope we beat Green Bay!
But do we really want Miami at 3-0????? UGH
Enjoy the rest of the week, as hey October is next week!
Hump Day!!!
Can I get a hell-OOOOO!!!???
I'm getting a kick out everything Josh Allen leaps. Who knew he did so much jumping.
Wed, the day of the week you try to literally get all of your work done, as tomorrow is Thursday and you spend that day thinking and wishing it was Friday, and Friday is always a total distraction day!
Got a kick out of Rick's FB video, advertising the Huger Beer, and then throwing the ax! That must be way harder than it looks!
Other than that, not to much else is happening in our corner of the world.
As I said preparing for the arrival of Geo's brother.
Not to much else.
Enjoy this day and everyday!
Today, I am 52 and 1 month old... I think I should go out and celebrate.
We should go out and celebrate!
We don't nearly do that enough!
At some point, on some day, at some hour, we wont be able to , and then the famous words will be uttered, " why didn't do that"???
UGH to regrets!
Oh well
Recap! Happy Fri-Yay!
cheers to CC Sabathia sticking up for teammates at the cost of 500,000.00$ Now that is loyalty
Cheers to at least one W in Boston!
I can not believe the baseball season ends Sunday! Now that is officially the end of summer!
Booo to work today, and trying to submit my 2019 budget? Thoughts? Just take the 2018 numbers and add 3%? Anyway that is my game plan!
Cheers, to the Bills and upsetting Green Bay this weekend, is that a reality?
No Political comment zone, so I will keep it moving..
A good friend of mine, who I use to work with, called me today and informed me that she had lost her job, so she and I are the same age, and I feel horrible for her, as at our age we are in the health care limbo!
Getting ready for said brother in law coming for a visit...
Other than that the twins are still fighting off colds and runny noses
geo is more determined than ever to never return to work
and me, well, Im just plugging along!
Enjoy this day and every day!
And a great big happy friday to all. Just lost an entire huge paragraph of comments as my screen went blue and everything disappeared, Not sure that i have the stamina in my advanced years to be able to revisit the pearls that I had captured before, but i will try. Taking a break from watching the US ryder cup team being manhandled by the vicious Europeans, in France of all places, Leaving in a bit to meet up with the fixxitts for lunch, always fun, but that will be the probable high point of the weekend, I did move my short sleeve shirts to the back of the closet and the long sleeves to the front and that was pretty exciting. I feel bad for you sis with that health care mess, went thru it myself and was never so glad when ap and I both finally made the magic 65. Such a shame to have to wish your life away. Restraining myself from political commentary after yesterday but somewhere the Founding Fathers must be thinking "why did we spend so much time and bother for those people". On a happier note, I am sure that come monday, someone will have a good story to share----come on jff we are counting on you, enjoy
Story Time!!!
Sandra and I had a fun time time last night at Barrel Factory enjoying the music of Mick Hayes. We also enjoyed food from Buffalo Best Cucina.
This weekend Sandra and Emma will enjoy Charlie and The Chocolate factory and I'll check out Larkinville's Block Party.
Way to go nphw!! I knew that we could count on you. Best we could do, and it was pretty good by our standards, was the Fixxitt lunch friday, which was a good time, and then as we were leaving lunch we got a text from our friends the Wagners who were in town from chautauqua and wanted to get together for drinks, which we did, which meant that we were out until, GET THIS,
almost seven oclock on a friday nite. Talk about wild times. And then there is the Bills game, which I think speaks for itself. Happy October to all a nd remember only 13 weeks until xmas. Time to start thinking about that pirate gift. By the way, Mick Hayes, former student not in jail. Good for him. Talented musician but not a great history student. Playoff baseball today--lose and don't go home. Not often you see that twice in the same day.
And yes its Monday!
Where was the luncheon date this time?
It was your turn to choose correct, as I believe my sister chose Santaserio's last time?
So it turns out Ms. Gwenn has a sinus infection, so hopefully she will be on the road to recovery with her amoxicillin
Then we just wait for Henry!
My husband treated me to such a great dinner Friday nite at Webster's, their food is just delicious! so yummy!
Other than that, not much else happened this weekend
Watched the twins on sunday, so momma could get some stuff done
The bills game was such a bust!
And the Yankees lost!
And NE beat Miami, booooo!
Oher than that, not to much else going on...
We have our Atlanta Bash coming up!. So much fun!
so less than 100 days until 2019, gotta be honest, 2018 was no bowl of cherries!
Oh well lets make the next 100 days the best!
Thursday we hear if we get Hamilton tickets, so that's exciting!
Probably should brush up on Hamilton history?
enjoy this evening!
Unckie, I loved your Mick Hayes comment! Classic comedy.
So glad he's not in jail... and of course we all wished he would have paid closer attention to the history lessons.
Thank goodness it's Wednesday. We're half way there.
So lets recap!
I am clueless on the Mick Hayes comment? But I too am glad he is not in Jail!
So Brother Bob is in town, and we are all rooting for the Rockies!
Hopefully they can rebound tonight after a tough loss yesterday!
And the Sabres were putrid, putrid, putrid last night! How is it possible that no buffalo team can get this right?
Yankees and Sux tonight! And at 431 we have replaced our 40 inch TV with a what we were spoiled with a new 55 inch , I would use slashes for inches but not sure if its one or two,? As everyone recalls on the eve of opening day, our 55 inch TV died, and no call to Russ Wattam, was going to revive it! So we made do with the 40 inch, but going into Winter, the investment had to be made! So hopefully TV will be functioning by first pitch this evening
Jill was able to secure our Hamilton tickets! YEA! And she has warned Jenna and I that we had better be fully knowledgable on the historical facts! I have been listening to the score, it is very fast paced! Having observed the Shea's crowd over the years, I am thinking some patrons may be lost? Hope everyone does their homework!
Busy weekend on tap, Octoberfest, Canalside visit, Allentown fall fest, etc...
Enjoy this beautiful weekend!
Go Bills, please!!!
Go Sabres!!!
Go Yankees!
Go UB!
And another weekend is at hand. These weeks are flying by rather quickly aren't they. Quadruple header playoff bb today. Sometimes retirement has its advantages. Not real optimistic about my red stockings chances over the hated yankees. Price will go into the tank as he always does against good teams, Sale is having trouble breaking 85 and the bad guys are hitting homers in bunches. just one more disappointment to add to my list. I even thought of watching some of the Sabres last nite but fortunately cooler heads prevailed and I went to bed. Saw the score and figured that they saw the video of marchand mauling the Cap the night before and decided to stay in the locker room. 3 weeks until Atlanta. Auntie is lobbying aggressively for "A star is Born" but I think it is far less about the story and far more about the male lead. Whatever you do, enjoy your long weekend.
Happy Friday!!!
Congrats on your 55" TV! That'll make playoff baseball better, that's for sure. Go Yanks!
We're heading down to Butler this weekend.
Happy Columbus Day!
Happy Indigenous Person day!
And if you are off today, enjoy! As the weather is suppose to be phenominal!
So Lets Recap! A huge Yankees win! And Judge going through Fenway with Frank Sinatra blarring New York New York from his phone! How awesome is that! Take that RedSox fans!
And a Sabres win! Against the Rangers! No less!
And the piece de resistance, said with a French accent! A come from behind Bills Victory!
So we had a whirlwind weekend, with Uncle Bob in town! I think we have fed him enough wings and pizza to last til his next visit! I think he has been fully indoctrinated to the twins! He was a little shellshocked at their level of activity and noise! And he did tell me, that Ms Gwenn, is a Holtz through and through as she is the loudest toddler he has ever come in contact with!
Friday night, we did our favorite fish fry restaurant, well its my favorite, for some reason my sister hates it, not sure why? But just before we ordered dinner, Jenna was reading on her phone the breaking news about the Kenmore Chief of Police, who was arrested for stealing Opiates, as she was reading the article, our waitress came over and lo and behold, the chief of police turned out to be her ex father in law! And she had no idea! So we were all concerned about the quality of our food, but no, all was good!
We traveled down to Canalside, Saturday after the rain, as Blue Cross and Blue shield had set up a Halloween Event, specifically for kids! Hay rides, Hay mazes, coloring, trick or treating, games, lots of fun things to keep the twins busy, and a beer tent to boot! Uncle Bob very generously offered to buy! A 10$ glass mug no less, which we promptly forgot!
And Sunday was Bills day, and George's cousins came over to visit and cheer the bills on! All in all, a fun filled very much a family weekend!
Of course, Uncle Bob's Rockies, got swept, much to his dismay..
He has now turned his attention to Atlanta and the Yankees!
Other than that, enjoy today and tomorrow, as I guess the weather takes a turn for worse for the weekend!
Sounds as if things were really busy in Tonawanda this past weekend. Much quieter out this way. Did feel bad watching the Rockies pick a bad time for a losing streak. Did they score against the Brewers? I know that we were all happy to watch our beloved Red Stockings bounce back but there is still one more wooden stake to be driven into a certain baseball heart. Had to be the most boring football victory ever on sunday, but we will take whatever we can get. Sabres with a winning record for the first time since 2013. Eichel was in H.S. Another nice day today. Would be a good day for my October round of golf. Atlanta kids are off all week, one now and another week in Jan---K is just loving that but she did make a good decision. At one point there was talk of camping down on the Fla panhandle this week. Good thing they didn't follow thru on that. Enjoy the day all.
I cant even comment! Brutal! I have never been an Aaron Boone fan, lets face he is literally a one hit wonder, one hit against the RedSux! Well rebound today, and win it in Fenway!
Uncle Bob is winging his way home as we speak! we had dinner and drinks last night with our good friends, Heather and Joan, who are even more liberal than Bob, it made for a very lively conversation! I must say!
Other than that, beautiful day!
Glad the camping trip has been re thought, as that storm sounds like a doozy!
Enjoy this day and all that it brings your way!
Boy is it hot outside!
We had a fantastic weekend down in Butler, PA. and a very relaxing evening last night at Mac's on Hertel and then home in the backyard with a good friend.
Tonight, I'll grill, then we'll chill.
Sahlen Ball Park?
Really?
Named after a hot dog?
Guess that name was the wiener!
Weiner?? I get it! Well done sis! Have to admit that I am having trouble de-escalating from the eurphoria of tuesday nite's victory. At least we can all agree on that, right? Don't get your hopes up too much for the Houston series. Astro pitching will dominate I fear as it generally does in the post season. so what happens if the T-NT game goes like 52-49? Will nc jnn have to get a 2nd job to cover her promised donation? Looks as if our warm spell has gone by the wayside. got my car serviced and lawn mowed yesterday so I am ready for most anything. Auntie had a full day with her mom on tuesday and has another today so I am left to my own devices. Shady back to Philly? Make the deal now for whatever you can get.
End of Summer, it appears! and hey its Friday Eve!
The only solace I take in the absolute horrendous Yankee loss, as that Angel Hernandez has sealed his fate with his MLB loss suit, he is not discriminated against because he is Cuban, he is just a horrible ump!
Lots of emails back and forth for the upcoming Atlanta pilgrimage, always so much fun!
I think my niece should enter politics, so say all???
Other than that, Uncle Bob is safely back in Denver, and he states it is super cold, like 37 degrees cold!
Big T - NT game tomorrow! And Tonawanda may have a chance!
So do we put the lawn mower away, or will there at least be one more swipe at grass cutting?
Geo is doing well, and I have to talk to my sister, haven't talked to her in awhile, with the twins in school we don't catch up every Tuesday.
Prayers for Rick and Stacy that they sell their home!
And I am hoping no one gets on my plane with an emotional support squirrel!
Who does that??
Enjoy today and all that it brings!
I'm all in on Shady to Philly! Pull the trigger. RBs are a dime a dozen. Maybe we can get a bag of pucks. Which leads me to the Sabres. Yeah Sabres for looking like a hockey team.
We're home this weekend and i think it's going to be be fairly quiet too. That will be nice.
Tonight I have to put away my pop up camper for the season and clean up the garage. Fun, fun.
Hey it's another weekend and I am sure that everyone has big plans, except for nphw who seems
to have one of his rare quiet ones on tap. Didn't see the results of last nite's Tnt game. Did uncle gary keep his streak of sneaking into the game intact? Will nc jnn be getting a home equity loan to pay off her wager as well as wearing a funny hat? Had our service call this AM on our fireplace which was complete by 9 AM so it is all down hill for the rest of the day. Big game for Bulls as well as the Bills. Brewers off to a good start and we will see about our favorite team this PM. Other than that, nothing to report except for our beloved seasonal lake effect rain. At least it is currently not shovelable but that I am sure is not too far on the horizon, Enjoy your relatively clear skies in the northtowns.
Where to begin? Lets talk Sabres, or UB Bulls, or brewers or red sox. i am sorry but those other guys are painful to watch. Hope that everyone had a great weekend.
I can't even! Some highs and lows this weekend!
How do the PUKEPatriots continue to win, just when you thnk they will have a big L, they snatch victory from the claws of defeat!
The Bulls looked on National TV!
The Sabres added another W and a L to their tally!
Tonawanda lost on a most controversial call!
NC Jenna is out 7$.
Took the twins to the Zoo yesterday, which they just love! So we did miss most of the Bills game, which is always good news!
But the Bills, how can you even! So disheartening!
Looks like snow coming, UGH!
Any predictions on our weather for our Atlanta excursion?
so nephew Adam had contacted Jenna about a certain candidate running for office, as I look to others to save the world, would nephew Adam ever consider a run for an office? Cuz you all know I have K penciled in as Gov of Georgia in the 2028 run!
Enjoy this day as best as you can!
Howdy!!!
Well, our quiet weekend turned into an exploration day on Saturday. We started with Advantage Lumber on Ohio St. Sandra seems to think I can build her a dining room table so we went to look for a piece of tree. Yes, tree. Thats what she wants her table to be.
We did just relax and chill on Sunday, that was enjoyable.
It's Restaurant Week so we'll be hitting up a couple places this week with the creme de la creme being Viking Lobster Co on Thursday.
Sandra and I went to Shango on Tuesday night and had a really nice dinner. Last night Sandra had book club and they went to Cabernet Cafe' off of Main St Williamsville. They left my buddy and me to create "Dive Bar Wednesday". First up, The Englewood Grill. It used to be the old Dooley's. Wings are 50 cents!!! So, last night we enjoyed some good wings (highly recommend) and talked music theory. All in all a good evening.
Sandra's done going out this week so Viking Lobster Co will have to wait.
Saturday we're heading out to Hammondsport for the night.
Enjoy the rest of your week!
Gotta admire the stamina of nphw jff being able to go out and still be able to function. Keep up the good work my boy. 50 cent wings?? I can, remember when.... no, I won't go there. It was tough enough for me to stay up to 1:15 to watch the end of the game last night....no, I won't even go there cause no one will believe me. Any who, looking forward to next week. since we are driving to Hopefully Hotlanta, although the forecast is not real promising---60's and showers---that will allow the opportunity to do a few things along the way. Looking forward to some time in Nashville and music row on the way back, Mammoth cave, ky and a few presidential stopovers so that will break the humdrum at least a bit. It is thursday so I am sure that we have some folks looking forward to the weekend. Go Bulls and whoever our QB is going to be on sunday. Make the best of our "brisk' day.
Ooooh, have fun on your drive down to Hot'lanta. I love all those extra stops. Take plenty of selfies.
We had fun around Keuka Lake in wine country. Tried some new wineries and found some we liked; couple that with the brewery explosion and I was a happy, happy boy. Dinner at the Village Inn Tavern was fantastic and I can not even begin to tell everyone how good the piano player was. What a nice treat.
We came home yesterday and purposely ignored the Bills game.
Sandra took off to St. Louis this AM for work, so it'll be a slow week for me.
Happy Tuesday! Count down to winging it to Hotlanta, which by all weather accounts will not be so hot! But a fun time will be had by all! Rest assured!
We will be winging our way to Hotlanta, right after the St Francis Pre School Halloween Parade! I know I know, we are excited for that as well.
Show of hands? Who cares about the World Series? Just as I expected!
And any thoughts on what the bills score will be on National TV on Monday? Yes and a big UGH to that as well!
Other than that, not to much else going on!
Stacy and Rick looked at a house last night, so hopefully it all works in their favor!
Just an FYI, Our work ticket for the billion $'s, had all the numbers, just on all different tickets! Oh well, we will try again tonight!
Enjoy this day and all that it brings your way!
And a Happy Tuesday to you as well and have fun in Hot'lanta. We were actually talking about going this year and then Sandra got scheduled for this conference she's at right now. So tell everyone we said hi.
Greetings from scenic?? Max Meadows, Va. yes, there is such a place. Yesterday was lovely in the low 70's as we spent time locating the birthplace of Zachary Taylor--who as we all remember from our EA walk conveniently died in office allowing the pride of EA, lucky #13 on our presidential hit parade to assume office. Not surprisingly there were not a lot of fine dining choices in the immediate area of our hotel last nite but a Mexican cafe a few steps away offered passable (cheap) food and more importantly drink specials. 3.50 wines and 20 oz. mexican drafts. The total bill was $42 and $18 was for the food portion of the meal so auntie is still under the covers while I am moving slowly. Today I will be locating all of my obscure baseball stadia, try elizabethton and kodak tn. among others as well as trying to locate the ultimate shopping experience for auntie. The search yesterday in Charlottesville for anti fascists and neo nazis proved unsuccessful so we will see what happens today. Saw the itinerary for this weekend yesterday so it looks like i had better be well rested. The comment about pumpkin carving and people on blood thinners was hurtful at best. Still looking forward to seeing everyone in a few days. Travel safely.
Hurtful? at best? Never, I am always concerned for your well being and safety, please note how I found my other brother! And you are all I have left, well there is my sister, but that's another story!
sounds like you and auntie are having the time of your life!
So the rumor mill is running amok that the bills will bring Chad Kelly in to play quarterback after he was unceremoniously released by the Broncos! What was John Elway thinking!
1 billion dollar winner in South Carolina, how is that possible! I had the majority of that money already spent! Oh well, we will try again tonight!
So I am hoping the Sux win it 4 straight and bring this baseball season to a merciful end!
Snow expected tonight brother and Steve Bannon in EA! Sounds like you gotta out of Dodge in the nick of time!
Travel safe, enjoy todays activities!
Keep us in the loop on all of your traveling activities. You know I love to read about them.
Max Meadows, VA.? Of course it's a place. It's all about hiking in Max Meadows; fast. You have to hike fast there.
Safe travels all and have fun.
I'm shooting for comment # 300.
Yeah!!! Sandra comes home tonight from St. Louis. Thank Goodness, what a week.
Slow weekend this week. We'll have a fire tonight to celebrate the last night of decent weather. Tomorrow we have to go to church to vote NO.
There's a couple things going on tomorrow but Sandra will probably want to stay home. We'll see.
Such a wonderful weekend in Hotlanta, only not so much! The sun did come out as we were leaving, but other than that! the Holtz -Twombly Birthday weekend is like no other extravaganza on the planet, so much food, drink and fun!
Wonderful time with all the kids, a chance to catch up with my brother and his lovely wife, and just a great time!
I was able to map out my plan for K running for Gov of Georgia in 2028.
Oddly enough she was not interested, but I thnk that is a decision you need to sleep on!
UGH to this horrible weather!
Mercifully, baseball has come to an end! I wonder how much the Yankee's will pay for Manny Machado now??? What a goof!
No interest in tonights football game! show of hands?
The Twins birthday party is this weekend, so that will be fun!
Heading off to Honeye Next weekend to see Chuck and Barb, with my sister and a ham for Barb.
Happy Halloween everyone!
Go Bills!
The very little I watched of the game, I have two observations, the announcing crew were horrible! There glowing commentary of Brady, and only Brady and always Brady was enough to make me gag! And the wings they were munching on were boneless from Applebee's??? Now who does that?
Still have not purchased Halloween candy for tomorrow night, that is always a last minute purchase at the 431 for reasons that really need no explanation!
Talking lake effect some time next week, UGH!
Or maybe its fake news to keep the voters away, who seriously knows anymore???
So is there even money that the Bishop resigns? Or no, thinking his arrogance will keep him from doing that? Anastasia could not stand him, but it was because he closed schools, not harbored criminals. I wonder how she would feel about him, if she knew that piece of the puzzle.?
Other than a pukey bills game, and the news stations filled with worse news than the day before, not to much else to update on...
Sabres play tonight....
Other than the aforementioned, nothing else to chat on..
Enjoy today, and tomorrow as Thursday is November 1st!
Christmas will be here before you know it!
Back in WNY after what proved to be a wonderful time in not very warm Lanta. Echoing my sister's sentiments all the way. Lots of fun and a million laughs. Poor charlie cursed with too small ears--you had to be there--but similar to the other Holtz lament but for the men only. Left on monday as the girls left for school and drove to Nashville. Spent the afternoon in downtown Nashville at the bars sampling the musical offerings; lots of fun. Never turned the Bills game on mon, evening. Tuesday Mammoth cave NP and a few other stops. Stayed in columbus and drove home yesterday. Now lots of leaves to contend with but good to be back. 3 weeks until Thanksgiving. One comment closer to #300. Conversation will soon turn to the perfect pirate gift.Almost the weekend already...Wow! Have promises of shared Halloween candy from the grand kids so I will have to get over there before it gets devoured. 40th year in a row of no tricksters. Enjoy
Happy Birthday Sandra!!!! I hope you have a wonderful day!
Halloween, was quiet, we had about 45 extremely polite, trick or treaters!
We do have a plethora of candy left, however, and that is never good!
Glad my brother and his lovely wife arrived home safe and sound!
It was an amazing weekend, and we had so much fun!
And in 3 weeks, it will be Thanksgiving! This time of year, just flies by! Never really sure where it goes, but it goes!
Other than that, we have Thursday night football, the bills picked up another quarterback, and an under used Jets receiver, and the Twitter world was inundated with tweeters who were aghast that the Monday night crew at Wings from Applebee's!
Not that our team is abysmal, but where they got their wings from!
Looking at my November Calendar, and it is already pretty jam packed!
Waiting for my book from Amazon, on my brother's recommendation, so I can keep up with Hamilton! When I was uploading my pictures yesterday from the Pirate Party, I did not have one showing Caroline's face when she opened up her Hamilton tickets.
So if anyone has it, please share!
Other than that, everyone have a great day!
Go Bills!
So I will set up someone for comment #300. Watched our boys until 21-0 then went outside to battle the leaves for a bit, came back in to 31-3 and turned the tv over to auntie to catch up on the episode of Poldark that she missed last week so that she will be up to speed for tonite's episode. Oliver and ben spent the nite last nite which audrey had a sleepover and mom and dad stepped out for the evening. Getting myself ready for what I hope is an all niter on tuesday to watch the returns, will take awhile to adjust to the time change. have a great week all,
Woo Hoo #300!!!! I don't know what to say! I'm speechless.
We had an enjoyable weekend milling about with this and that. Sandra and Emma enjoyed Fiddle on the Roof and I enjoyed Smitty Wings at Doc Sullivan's during the show. It was a Win Win.
Unlike the Bills and Sabres yesterday.
Hey its Monday, and that always means a re cap of the last 48!
The Twins officially turn 3 today! Party was yesterday, and we had a wonderful party!
Food was great, cake was even better! Gwenn and Henry had a lot of fun!
Who can even watch the Bills anymore? Seriously? That game was the absolute worst!
And I think I say that every week!
Not sure where they even go from where they are? at this point!
And this sunday is the Jets, so lets see if that can be our 3rd win!
Heading off to Chuck and Barb's this Saturday, with my sister.
So hopefully that will be an uneventful drive, and great visit!
there is a discussion of some snow this weekend, so lets see if that is accurate.
Other than that, not to much else going on...
Other than that, it was party prep all weekend, and back to work today!
Enjoy this day and all that it brings your way!
Remember, as they say in cook county illinois, vote early and vote often. whatever today's results, it is going to be an interesting statement from the voting public. Enjoy!
Post election recap! Why would anyone vote for Chris Collins? Not understanding that at all? If you did not like the other guy, then why vote? Oh well, as my sainted mother used to say, it will all work out!
Other than watching election coverage, and going out for a beer and a fried bologna election day special at Squires, it was a quiet evening, not weather wise, but other wise.
Our dear sweet neighbor, Betty Quinzio passed away, she had left her home a few years back and was in a nursing home, but she was such a sweet lady! Prayers to her family!
Other than that, its Wed, the Bulls won! So yea to them, College basketball seems in full swing, a great diversion!
We were trying to meet in Albany the weekend of the 17th to have a Holtz Thanksgiving with the Cape Cod Holtz's, but my work schedule changed to cover a project, so that wont happen this year, but maybe next!
Working on planning a trip to Cape Cod in June to catch those elusive Cape Cod league games!
We were doing Disney in March but that seems to have been put on hold.
So 2019, looks like it is filling up fast and furious!
Enjoy today and all that it brings your way!
Incredible offensive showing by the Bulls last night (almost wrote Bills). Over 200 yards rushing in the first quarter. The over/under was 43 and it was 51-0 at the end of the 3rd.
Fun game to watch.
We had a little wind last night AND we didn't lose our power!
I'm back!!! A two comment streak going.
We had a VERY enjoyable evening with good friends on Wednesday night at Betty's on Virginia and then a nightcap at The Lenox Grille. Fun, fun.
Tonight Sandra and I are going to the Terrace at Delaware to listen to a little jazz and ... ummmm... have a cocktail. Yeah Friday!!!
No plans for Saturday... yet.
Enjoy your weekend!
Well I tried to post twice last nite and each time a glitch wiped out my work so I am hoping that 3x will be a charm. Ready for another weekend everyone? Week went by rather quickly. Still trying to recover from election tuesday. Not a lot of surprises considering where things are but we are a resilient nation and will get by. Still battling my leaves which are now snow covered with promises of more to come. Hope that the weather doesn't impinge on my sisters planned trip on sat. but they have gotten thru worse on the way to philly. Enjoy it for what it is and will be. Is rex ryan still with the Jets? we can only hope.
So after commenting you are getting re directed to your Google account? Lets see if this sticks, as the other one I did, vanished into thin air!

mmm that went through OK???
It must be the content that is holding things up!
So great Bills win yesterday, there is someone worse than us!
Fun to watch! Our good friends were in Florida, watching the game and having a shot every time the Bills scored, needless to say by half time we never heard from them again! It was all good, they Ubered back to their hotel!
Trip to Canandaigua was uneventful, quasi sunshine there and back, Chuck and Barb are doing good, managing as best as you can at 85. My sister and I took a trunkload of food, and just had a very nice afternoon!
Pat and the Col are doing well in San Antonio, they still have not sold their Ranch but are renting it out, and still loving life in their retirement community.
It was a good ride to catch up with my sister, and she even invited Geo and I to join them when they meet for lunch with my brother! Of course I was warned that it had to be early, not far, and all had to be home by dark.... We will see if we can make that happen!
Ms Gwenn had a rough week! Friday afternoon she fell and had to be rushed to Emergency care, and I got that SOS phone call just as I was getting served my Friday ritual fish fry.... Its all good, food packed up to go, beer chugged and Henry ate my dinner when we got there. Today she has all her yearly testing done at Oishei, associated with her issues at birth, so here is hoping all goes well today!
enjoy today, tomorrow and every day!
ANNOUNCEMENT !!! ANNOUNCEMENT !!!
Last minute party Announcement:
I was over at my dear parents house and got this crazy idea to make chowder with my dad. After a few "Are you crazy?" We're doing it this Saturday!
Some come one, come all. If you're free this Saturday for dinner come on over to our house for chowder.
It should be ready by 5- 5:30.
So... Chowder how fun! Count us in!
Who doesn't love Chowder!
So I keep trying to add a photo that has surfaced to the blog, and not having much luck. It is a picture I have never seen before, it is of grampa and all his siblings. It is a really cool picture, and Grampa is holding a beer, and Mama is smiling! So Jenna is going to add it. As we do need a new blog picture! No offense Grampa!
Other news: So poor Nathan Peterman got let go. I am guessing he will get picked up by the Patriots and become the next Joe Namath!
UGH to the snow
And Ohtani was rookie of the year??? How is that possible as he played in Japan?
Another Yankee slight!
A bye week, so no Bills must win party this weekend!
But we do have one big birthday this week, as Rick Scott turns 50!
Cheers to him!
Other than that, enjoy today!
