A picture is worth a thousand words

You knew it was going to be a long golf game when it took Jenna several minutes to see the golf flag.

Jeff let Thrillie drive the golf cart, it only took her the first 7 holes to get used to it.

Word has it that Jill carried her team...here she is contemplating why she
didnt get the infamous 2-2-2 breakfast.

KDH searching for her ball...there seemed to be a lot of that happening amongst the Holtz golfers.

Adam obviously got the memo on mandatory tacky plaid shorts.

Olympizzle brought out the competitor in all of us.

Regardless of the winner, the whip cream was enjoyed by all.

ahhh the toothpick pick up...I am still nursing my puncture wound.

#1 in D-in-law was determined to win, but it is evident that she had a helping hand in the pick up. Note the Stranger's hand reaching in to help.

Poor Gram....Do you think she knew she had a bunny on her head the whole time?

The Games

The Ball Game Jill vs. everyone else!
No coaching allowed? Yeah right!Good sports!
Hey...this hurts...I'm bleeding!

Amazing how they ran straight and the "grown ups" couldn't run straight if their lives depended on it!
A lovely art project
The referee...is she even watching?
You can't beat the Holtzapoolza Games--yeah Kristen!

Two of my Favorite pictures... for different reasons

We sure had fun... and it all started with a blog. Ummm... I... I... I care. Can I have some?

Whip cream.... I swear. Nobody could wear it better. You da man Adm.

She would have been happy with a stick.

How does Thrllie always get the good presents?

Table dancing before noon father??? That's just not right.

"I was thinking about taking up golf, this sinches it." He would have said the same thing if it was an ash tray.

Now that's a good lookin' man.

Talk about "Man Candy".

Golf Awards

The Golf Awards Ceremony was quite a thrill! Here are a few of the highlights...

Congratulations Adam on "The Longest Drive"! Anyone that drives from MA to NY deserves that award!

Speaking of those who deserve their award...congratulations to Mr. Fix-it for the "Messiest Game" award!

Lucy got the "You People Bore Me" Award while AuntieP slid in with the "I'd rather be home than golfing with you clowns" Award!

Many more awards...more pictures to come!

Golfing at Holtzapalooza

A GOLFING EXTRAVAGANZA

Before we started our golf outing at the rolling hills of the Spruce Ridge Country Club we all met at the Zider Zee in Holland for a family breakfast; "where friends meet to eat". You can see how early in the AM it is by how dark the picture is. I can't believe Unckie wanted us to meet there at 4:30AM. And even though we arrived before the rooster crowed you're never the first one to arrrive at the Zider Zee.
The ZZ offered the generous 2-2-2 special for $4, that would be 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, and 2 meats (bacon or sausage) . Most of us got the special and a cup of coffee. Someone ordered a western omelette and nothing on the side. Interesting. Another person had a chocolate milk. Hmmmmmm...
Overall the breakfast was filling and served it's purpose. Two thumbs up.

We all pitched in what we owed to Unckie. BUT, Adm, ended up with an extra $20 somehow and he seemed to be very excited about that. It's no wonder Unckie taught history and not remedial math.

We arrived at "The Spruce", divied up the teams, and Jenna led us off with the ceremonial first drive. She entered the box, addressed the ball, and smashed a screaming line drive 25 yards and straight. Keeping it straight is very important.

After everyone finished with the first tee (2 of7 finding the fairway). We all gathered around for a group photo. It clearly shows in the picture that Unkie Gare, at this point in the day, had his sunglasses.
Who's Colombo now, baby!

After the first hole, Team Unckie/ Jenna took an early lead over Team Jeff/Jill and Team Gare/Adm/KDH. You could tell right off the bat that this was going to be an intense match. We finished the first hole in just under 30 minutes. So intense were the shots, you could slice it with a knife. Please take note on Kristen''s near-perfect form.

After completing the third hole in just over an hour and a half and being pushed by the entire population of Sardinia behind us. We made an executive decision to move on to hole #9.

We finished the round with a THUD and carted ourselves back to the cars to get to Emery Park for Holtzapalooza or as KDH refers to as just Pooza.

We all had a fun day. There were some really good shots and some really bad ones. We laughed, we cried, we left our emotions out on that hill. And we all came back a little wiser for being there. There were no losers, we were all winners.

WELL... there was a winner. Unckie always has to win. Ahhh I'm just kidding. He's an easy target.

It has already been suggested by Thrllie that a rematch is in order. I'd like to echo that with a resounding YES. A rematch is definitely needed. This time we play 7 holes.

The Day After HoltzaPalooza

The Day after Holtzapalooza is quite similar to the day after Christmas or Thanksgiving. Following a get together with our loved ones, I was quite sore from laughing so hard. Cookie was sore from pitching 4 scoreless innings against determined cousins and uncles wanting to get a crack off her fastball. However she set the record straight by fanning cousins Jeff and Adam. The debate about Derek will live on.

Breakfast yesterday was simply a treat. I have learned to try coffee and hopefully it will grow on me. I do not want to be the only one drinking chocolate milk anymore. Zider Zee's was correct with their slogan, " A place where friends meet to eat." After our stomachs were full; to the greens we went. I did do some research with askjeeves. However, he wasn't there to help me with my swing. But, thankfully my family was there to correct my baseball swing. It's a sport that I will continue to try and hopefully be a pro at.

The party was memorable; something that I know I will remember forever.

Thank you everyone for a great time, great laughs, great memories. Pictures and a blog will be completed by gram relatively soon. I will concur with the group and say we can't wait until 2016 for the Holtzapalooza sequel.

May everyone have a safe trip back home. It's dreaded Monday. Thank you again.

Love,
The Second Place Koch's.
