Zach's Washington DC Trip Part II

A Pictorial Blog
by JT Pilaf

Where's Part I you ask? I tried to get them all on one blob but I kept running across a Blogger internal error. So I'll post Part I of Zach's trip soon. This day began with a trip to the White House. No pictures are allowed in the White House.
Here's the Supreme Court Building. I asked the lady you was giving us a short lecture if she's seen my fender bender case in the papers that she's read over the years. I assured her it wasn't my fault.

Here's Zach's 7th and 8th Grade class from St. John's and the 7th and 8th Grade class from Holy Ghost in front of the Capital Building.

The Capital Building.

The Spiral Staircase in the Capital Building.

JQ Adams desk location, also known as "the whispering spot"... he placed his desk here supposedly to hear the opposition talking.

Lincoln Memorial

The view from the stairs of the Lincoln Memorial. Unfortunately they're renovating the pool and won't be done for about 2 years. I'm told.

Jen-nee.

Zach and me at the Air And Space Museum in Dulles, VA.

Our tour guide Don Walters. Here we're listening to the story of the Alabama regiment. Left side all the way to the hills is Little Round Top. Alabama will attack on Day Two, July 2nd 1863.
There's a statue behind us of an Alabamian Lady (can't remember, but it means something) pointing at Little Round Top Hill.

We had a wonderful time and I can't wait to go back.

HITCHED!

On May 4, 2011, Kristen and Eric ran off to Vegas and got married! It was a great day full of love and laughs. But family is oh so important to us, so we're having a big picnic party to celebrate and we want YOU there!

Look in your email and mail for the invitation to the social event of the season -- the Holtz-Twombly Shotgun Showdown Hoedown* on Saturday, June 18, 2011.

* No shotguns allowed, please. And there's not likely to be a showdown, unless its on the ball field. There will definately be a hoedown. Despite its inaccuracy, the H-T SSH is a great name for a fun, informal, tongue-in-cheek wedding celebration for a couple who has been together forever and has two kids with two on the way!

Where were you on April 30, 1976?

Some things just don't change! Congratulations to George Koch and Elizabeth Holtz.

Enjoy your anniversary! 35 years together. Wishing the both of you many, many, many more. Love you!

2011 Martinsville

A Nascar Blob
by JT Pilaf

Unfortunately the pictures are out of order, but I'm not messing with them.  I guess there's a new way to post pics.
Here I am Sunday at the track right about an hour before the race started.

The pacecar leading the troops out.
Little Ricky got me and Bill a pitpass, so here am I Sunday morning on the track.
Sunday morning before we got going.  A little breakfast and some beer to start the day.
 Jr. making his presense felt.
Sunday morning again... here's the garage in the infield.  You could get as close as you wanted.
 We sat right... about... here.
 Saturday morning... freeeeeeezing.
 Martinsville campground.

You have to believe me when I tell you this is a picture of Richard Petty... I'm serious.  He's in the golf cart.  I had just put my camera away and zipped it up.  Incredible.
We had a pretty decent spot in L loop.  The guy next to us grrew up in NT.
We had a great time.  Can't wait til next year.

Say Hello to Bronx, the newest addition to the Everett family! She is a 9 week old, 17lb. chocolate lab who enjoys eating rawhides, chasing a tennis ball and pooping on the carpet.
