great pic! Hope your day is going great jnna -- and ear pain free!
I talked to AP and UC yesterday. They were shaken by the snowy driving incident of 2007 (SDI07) but seem to be recovering nicely, even if they are staying in the hotel room and ordering pizzas instead of driving places. They'll get back on the road soon only if UC will run out of beer!
I think H-pooza should be every year, personally. Bigger and better. But what's the update on the big 90th? How can I help plan?
Are prayers are definitely with Bobby Murcer... he hhad that classic right field swing.
Holtzapalooza... bigger and better every year. This year we definitely invade Unckie's backyard. I'll bring the makings for a wicked barbeque pit. And we should have pony rides.
Jff & I love to host parties...we really will have the shower here with no problem (other than Jill still has to do the cookin')...or...we can get it catered...if we do it that way, there's no hurry/time limit and everyone can spend more on gifts instead of renting a hall/room somewhere...up to you guys...either way, we need to decide soon 'cause Amy is not going to want to travel after Easter...
We can host a party here too. Wait, let me ask my mom about that. Well folks, tonight is the birthday party at a local pub in the Tonawandas. Then tomorrow, my best friend and I will be heading to the SABRES game! 100 level tickets! Then Sunday, we will have dinner at home with gram and ruth and their bottles of wine.
Thank you Jeff! Now, I am home and ready for bed to start to morrow off again. Sabres game, and I can't forget to get a puck for Austin. Would Zach like one too?
Good mornin' fam, how's evveryone this fine Saturday morn'? Sandra's upstairs watching Nashville Stars (probably a rrepeat) with Jewel and Cowboy Troy and I'm just getting ready for a day of muddin' drywall. Ya got a keep neat, don't use too much. That's the key. "Nice and slow", (the robber from the Flintstones).
guess who's got tickets to monday afternoons bruins/sabres mlk day matchup at the garden? that's right, free tickets dropped in my lap. I'll be there, sporting my brand new Chris drury #23 retro blue and gold sabres jersey. I am psyched! have fun at the game tonight, Jna, have fun with the drywall jff. have fun with the nashville stars, sndra
I can't believe New England won. Frickin' so lucky.
I'm home enjoying one of my many holidays off watching the water level outside rise in my backyard. I addition to the water, the cable and telephone line is laying in my backyard (the ice ripped it off my house). Hopefully it warms up soon because I'm not doing that repair today.
The kids and I just finished cake #2 from Emma's Easy Bake Oven... not bad.
i SO want Holtzapalooza Deux. Let's get to planning!
UC and AP are safe in Daytona Beach, enjoying the sites and sounds, and hopefully relaxing. The latest update I received was that Dad had locked himself out of the condo, and chose to make friends with another resident and use her phone to call my mother to open the door, rather than just knocking. She was inside the condo. Shrug.
Definitely Holtzapalooza II!!! MLK Day means Lunch at the Olympia and a horde of rented movies. Scooby Doo II Pirates of the Carabean II and the Heffalump Halloween Movie. Good times.
Hey Thrllie, Home Depot selling generators??? The 'rents also were without power in NT.
How could the Sabres lose to the Bruins??? I think we're in a lil' slump.
Nothing like another ice storm to remind you that we live in Buffalo! The bad news...our cable & phone lines are down in our backyard...The good news...tv & phone are still working--go figure!
Happy Tuesday all. I have a funny craving for a very small chocolate cake. Must be all the discussion of E-Z bake.
I think we should go to the buffet at the casino for gram's bday. That's just my vote -- i have no idea if its realistic. But if we push it to that weekend, there's a greater chance that grandkids from out of town will be able to come ...
Is the power back on yet? It rained really hard here last night. but its still 65 degrees. Atlanta doesn't have much going for it, but the weather is really nice!
We could have a dinner at a hotel. That would also give us the option of staying overnight if we wanted to. We could get a hotel that has a pool and a nice restaurant. Maybe one with as suite so we could share a cold refreshing beverage with each other and a place to give presents.
If gram can't hear and we can't sit together, the casino simply won't work! I like Jeff's idea. I don't know the restaurants around WNY so much any more, so I'm not sure I can help there, but the concept is tried and true.
How much do we need to worry about mobility? Are there other (i.e. non-immediate family) people that would come?
We could considering having it at the home. I know gram isn't feeling that, but if we had food delivered and really fancied the place up (small round tables, decorations, three piece band, ice sculpture... ok I'm getting carried away here) then she'd have the added benefit of the other residents being jealous?
Ooooh... I like the sandals idea. And do we really care that gram can't hear over the crashing waves. Sun, drinks, and happiness = Jffy being a happy boy.
I can check out what hotels have a pool and restaurants in the area.
Another idea would for us to have a party for oourselves and call it Holtzapalooza pre-II while gram gets carted around Buffalo in February by horse. A scarf and a blanket and she'll be fine.
Holiday Inn in Grand Island has an indoor pool and a nice restaurant and Fantasy Island in February is incredibly under rated. I just love the cowboy show.
Residence Inn in Cheektowaga and Amherst both nice. Here's the URL:
Prices to all places were reasonable. ~ $95 -$110... or a lil' more, some were cheaper. There's also a Splash Park in Ontario and it has packages avail. Tickets for 4 and a stay overnight. And the price wasn't bad... it eludes me now, but... It was under $200. There's also get $5 off in the Entertainment book up to 6 people. Normal cost is $30 to swim for 2 days.
The Sheridan FallsView in Canada has a restaurant but it is also in walking distance of a TGIF and other type places to eat...the rooms overlooking the falls really are gorgeous (I was there for a conference) and one floor had the hospitality-type rooms where the bed folds up into the wall so you can party and then disperse...that room also had balconeys for outside whatever (know any smokers?)
Antie B, I gave the vacationing Holtzs strict instructions to call you to discuss party plans. They were out looking for manatees.
Gray and rainy here in the ATL -- very sleepy --
Leaving for Louisiana tomorrow. Should have good stories about the plane flight -- that's always a heck of a route with people getting drunk on the WAY to New Orleans! stay tuned..
I loved AI last night. Good stuff. Public humiliation ROCKS! Did you catch the braless, bad hair mother/daughter duo? WOW!
Just to let everyone know there is an art show tomorrow at my place of employment, over $150,000 in paintings will be auctioned off. I heard theres a "Van Go" whoever that is. Anyway its from 7-9 pm and I will be there donating my services.
I really think my cousin KDH needs a agent or a personal assistant. May I forward my resume?
I read half of it. That was too long. Patriot fans are long winded.
I hate the Patriots. I love Anchorman.
We're putting up the cedar tounge and groove this AM. That should look nice. That's all I got. The kids were over Glen n Shirl's last night and Sandra and I had fish fries at The Buffalo Tap Room. Good food, good beer.
All of us went to the Niagara / Quinnepiac hockey game last night at the Dwyer Arena. A 3-2 victory for the Purple Eagles over a #20 team in the country keeping their unbeaten streak at home alive this year. Great game. The kids had fun and it was the 3rd largest crowd ever (over 1600).

Happy Birthday Jnna. I hope you're having a great day.
Thank you for all the birthday wishes. I went to Carrabbas with the parents and chugged down 2 razzmatini's. Now, it's time for bed.
Thank you sissy for the sweet post. I think your crying over your purple turtleneck and purple pants.

Happy birthday Jnna & congrats to Zach...another year of ELA tests done!

He's good, thanks for asking.

Jill will also be attending the game tonight, not with me though. I wish I had a sabres jersey! Oh rats!
Both of you have fun at the Sabres game. How lucky Adm... have a beer on beer.
Oh, OK, I'm procrastinating. I haven't even started yet.
Hey family!
A balmy 68 degrees here in Hot-lanta today. I'm working away. Kinda.
Go Sabres! Go drywall!
Yea beer!!!
Round 1 of muddin' is in the books. Now Mr. Fixit is over puttin' molding around the new door.
stupid patriots. now I have to listen to another week of "the pats are the best football team ever!" bullsh!t. lucky bastards is what they are.
I can't believe New England won. Frickin' so lucky.

Why is the power out? Bad weather? Details please!
Nothing like another ice storm to remind you that we live in Buffalo! The bad news...our cable & phone lines are down in our backyard...The good news...tv & phone are still working--go figure!
Ice and rain all day today. It really looks pretty outside.
You're a lil' behind Auntie B, the Sabres playes in Monday afternoon at 1PM and lossed to the Bruins in a shootout. 3 losses in a row.
Enjoy the day all.

Lets go to the casino without gram, then just throw a party for her later.

How about Rochester... we're thinking of going there for an Amerks game and a swim. Gram would love the Strong Museum.
Holiday Inn in Grand Island has an indoor pool and a nice restaurant and Fantasy Island in February is incredibly under rated. I just love the cowboy show.
Residence Inn in Cheektowaga and Amherst both nice. Here's the URL:

I'll keep looking.
Sheraton FallsView Hotel... Two words... Sweeeeet.
In Canada, indoor pool, 3 blocks from the casino, and partee'.

Speaking of the "powder room"...guess what happens when Jff tries to use the shop vac to clean up dry wall dust etc, and the shop vac is full...
Good mornin'... Man it's cold outside.

It's Gram's day. Whatever she wants to do is fine with us. Except going to the gay rodeo. I'm not doing that again.
Bathroom is taking shape, brother Bill is doing an awesome job.
