Happy Birthday, Daddy! Love from Oliver

Nonna told me it's never to early to start blogging on the family blog. You're the best Dad ever!
Since it's your birthday I might let you sleep in a little-unless I'm really hungry........

Happy Birthday, Adam. May this be your best birthday ever. Wish we could celebrate together but since you're there and we're here, have Oliver and Amy give you kisses and hugs from me!

Oliver-you did a great job blogging for the very first time!

Happy Birthday Adm, have an awesome day!
Just to say again what a really nice day I had at Oliver's meat (okay, I'll stop) meet and greet (I had the wings), sorry couldn't help it.

Sandra and I are safely back from Disney World. We had a great time on out second honeymoon (even though it could have been a bit longer).

Up next for my 2007 Summer Tour is Watkins Glen to watch the race on Sunday and then Cooperstown and the Auburn Doubledays to celebrate my birthday. JTR 2007 Summer Tour t-shirts are currently available at the Fixxits in NT (sorry they don't have internet capabilities), both long sleeve and short sleeve are available.

Happy Birthday Adam!!

Heading to Brownsville, Texas tonight, the Southern most city in the state..It is expected to be 117degrees down there, so I am told. This should be interesting with my fair skin, but I have the 50SPF packed and ready in its 3oz. air travel friendly container. Be back on Tuesday!

Anonymous said...

One of the only good things about having to take 3 planes to get down there, because lets face it the Buffalo airport isn't a major hub, is I am racking on the frequent flier miles and I get to sit first class on the way back!

Anonymous said...

so cookie stopped over for lunch before she caught her flight to brownsville, and she was commenting on how her "new boss" has a suite for the bills and the sabres. And how her and Gary had the tickets for the 08/19 scrimmage at St John Fisher, and how her and Gary were using the first sabres tickets, and Jenna and I quickly interrupted her, first of all, we are feeling a little snubbed!
And its her BF gary, not mr fixxitt..
Any way I think it will be a lottery drawing for the rest of the tickets.
Think its going to rain, quess I better turn off the sprinkler

Anonymous said...

Thank you for clearing up the on going Gary name dilemna, I was getting confused and concerned and the same time.

Jill arrived safe and sound at her destination. Happy belated bd cousin Adam! I hope you had a great day.

Off to work. I dread MONDAYS!

Monday UGH gray and gloomy too!
Cookie did arrive in balmy brownsville at midnight there time, after sitting an extended period in Newark. Lucky girl!
she was a little concerned as while she was waiting for her rental car, she was convinced that the guy in front of her was Altemio Sanchez.
Got an email back from Cousin Pat in San Antonio, she is looking forward to us coming back, go figure! And she is planning a little day trip for us to the Mission, mmm city mission??? and the Cowboy Hall of Fame! I am sensing a great BLOG!
Yankees north of the border today at 1PM, mmm maybe I can sneak out of work early, sit on the bridge for 5 hours and catch the 9th???

Hello all! I am currently sitting in the McAllen, Texas airport. ALmost 7am your time, unfortunately only 6am here. This airport has 5 airport gates, and I can count the number of people waiting for a flight on one hand. Although the wait to get through seurity was fabulous! However, I have never had any TSA agent take such a close look through my toiletry bag as this one. Ahh Don't you love tiny airports. But at least they have wirless internet. I need I lugged my laptop here for something!

Got in at 12:30am Monday morning an it was 96degrees, so I felt right at home in the heat. Monday I spent all day outside in 110 degree weather.

Waiting for my connection flight to HOTlanta! KDH, doing any traveling today??

Anonymous said...

I need a McAllen, Texas shotglass!

I could use another HotLanta shot glass too!!!!!!!!

Come home safe Cookie. I don't want to go to work.

Boy, lots going on. I was going to complain about sitting out Sat. evening at the Harrisburg Sens game when the gametime temp. was 94 until I read Thrillie's update about Brownsville Texas. Lost that point. Was going to talk about the Reading Phils, the State College spikes, being part of the "fear the deer" chant which so intimidated the Mahoning Valley Scoundrels or whatever they were, and the pleasure of visiting the 1926 vintage Bowman field in historic Williamsport, but then I read nph jff's comment about where he has been this summer and where he is going, and suddenly central Pa. is not quite so glamerous. Stay cool.

Anonymous said...

ahhh Tuesday, mmm whatelse can you say about tuesday other than it is not Monday.
Glad thrillie has some fun observations to add to our blog conversation! For ex, last evening she called, and noted that in Brownsville, the border patrol cars outnumber the police cars 10 to 1. She litterally was the only white person. And the only english speaking person!
Got aug 25th bison tickets from my boss for a job well done!

Anonymous said...

Boy, we sure now how to travel in this family. No wonder we're the "blog of the new millenium" (voted on by FAMILY FUN magazine). Be careful in Brownsville, Thrllie (only white person there... ummmm... hello).

I wish I was with ya Unckie, we'd paint the town Reading in PA :) I saw the Harrisburg Sens play the Erie Seawolves just a week ago... They got rocked 14-7.
Did you start the "Fear the deer" chant? That sounds kind of scary.

Anonymous said...

Harrisburg got "nipped" 18-7 by the Portland Seadogs on Sat. nite to slip 38 games under 500 on the season. Guess that I won't be ponying up money for Wash Nats world series tickets real soon.Portland guy hit for cycle infirst four at bats, and that was a first for me in person. Erie was where I saw my only nohit-norun game pitched. Still waiting on that triple play. Just remember these days in Jan. Computer took a trip to the shop yesterday and I confess that I was lost without it. Fortunately they were able to put it back together with spit and prayers. Keep our fingers crossed. Bourbon swillin daughter in Savannah where it was 101 yesterday, without the heat index, while son, d-i-l, grandson and lucy were enjoying Vermont for the last two days. I suspect that they saw more Caucasians in Burlington than Thrillie in Brownsville. Keep the faithand stay on the move.

The fam and I are off to see the Bisons/Lynx tonight. It's a ten game home stretch and they need to win these games to get back into first. I do have a soft spot for the SWB Yankees though. Joba "the hut" Chamberlain pitched last night. AND, Shelly Duncan creamed and broke up a double play against ex-bison John MacDonald at second base. The Yankees have a youth movement a brewin'... get ready BOSUX fans, only 5 games out.

Hot and muggy out there today. How's Hotlanta?

Anonymous said...

Ya gotta love a team that the keys to victory involve shelley and Joba!
and that needle nosed towers plunking a rod, ugh to that.
good tickets are still available today for this weekend stance in cleveland. mmmmm I am thnking.... of a road trip.
the quincy holtz's in vermont! They are making good use of the summer too!
glad your hardrive is up and running UC. Nothing is worse than a spent hardrive!
Have fun at the game nphw!
Ottawa is in last place, so it should be good win for the good guys.
mmm phillies farm club anyone down???

Well it is my co-workers last day on Friday before he heads back to Tulane. I am taking him to lunch at Tantalus. What's good there UNK?

Helped with my first practice of the season before I take over a 16U program and the talk of practice was how great a pitcher my sister was! I know I scored brownie points with them!

Anonymous said...

Bisons were getting rocked last night when we left after the 7th inning. Who would have thought.
I got my replica rockpile stadium though.

Anonymous said...

Offered Auntie a trip to Dunn tire park for this afternoon for a game and a hot dog and she assaulted me with astring of words that would make a sailor proud. Couldn't believe the names she called me. Must be the frustration of trying to reinstall our printer after the "repair" removed most everything from the computer. It does go faster now though. Tantalus has about a four page menu. Haven't been there in a while though. Let me know what you think. Have a good one all.

Anonymous said...

Awwwww... Auntie P, you make me giggle.

I'm off to Watkins Glen now. Busch qualifying and practice today, IROQ race at night. Tomorrow, Nextel practice and Busch race and then finally the Nextel race on Sunday at 2PM. Watch and see if you see me. I'll be the guy in the Nordic headgear.

Hey JFF, Have you ever gone to the Buffalo Brewfest? Its next Saturday, I am thinking about going seems like fun. Its in the central terminal, and for 20bucks you get admission, a mug, and 20 tokens. each token is redeemed for a 3oz beer of your choice from whatever brewery you want. there are supposed to be 50 breweries there. Let me know if you gone and you think its worth it

Anonymous said...

KDH, have you been watching Rock of Love on VH1?? It might be better than I love NY!

Anonymous said...

Just got back from Watkins Glen International. Tony Stewart wins with the come from behind victory, beating Jeff Gordon. Yeah! Home Depot.

Hey Thrllie,
Nope, never went the Brewfest, BUT, how could it not be fun. Sounds like a great deal if you're interested in trying micro brews. I would be. Hhave fun and let me know how it was. Maybe I'll check it out.

happy monday to one and all..
Me not so happy, its monday at work UGH.
kind of a lost weekend. Took ACH out on saturday, did the running around thing, library thing, lotto thing, well you guys know the drill.
dragged thrillie with me, seems gary was at a stag in OP, gary her BF, not mr fixxitt, I think his stag days are long over!
Still searching for the cheapest plane fare to San Antonio.
Missing our Mr Oliver!!! He is the cutest baby on the planet, just incase there was some doubt!
Other than that..
Happy 30th Birthday, Mr David!
Here's hoping it turns out to me a most memorable one!
Much love, hope to see you soon!

My little nphw Dvd hits the big 30! Wow!! I kind of lost track of time since my little boy is going on 32 already. Next stop, the pilaf bday soiree. Any chance of JT remaining in WNY for the next week or so? Looks like Auntie has been booked for Oliver duty in Quincy for the Labor Day week. Me, I can't afford to go that distance. Tonite I will be heading to Dunn Tire for my first evening ever in the Labatt Party Zone. It will take my attention off of all of the bad stuff happening in the American League over the last few weeks. I can't believe that anyone would have ever let Eric Gagne go. I think that he will be the key to the pennant race, at least it is shaping up that way. Glad to hear that you took Mom on her errands. That means that I can delay going in until later this week. Have a good one all.

Why is everyone calling me?

Good day family, what a gorgeous day outside. If it wasn't for that thing we call "work", it could have been ranked up there with one of the nicest days of summer.

I'm home, I'm home. I swear I'm not going anywhere for awhile.

Enjoy the evening all, I'm grilling up sole and having a cold one.

Anonymous said...

Happy Birthday David. Nothing new to report from the Cookie homefront. Thrillie is in PA for the next 3 days. Yeah that's all I got. Maybe I will have my own brewfest here!

It would be much cheaper.

Anonymous said...

hey family -- I'm back in place too, after a few weeks of travelling around in the hottest places on the planet! After a heat index of 115, it dropped down to 87 here. I put on long sleeves and jeans. Brr.

Luckily I switched to swillin' gin -- that keeps it cool. Or at least so you don't mind the heat so much!

Anonymous said...

Good call with the Gin in 87 degree weather. We missed ya, but I'm glad your safe and sound back in the cool springs of Atlanta.

Happy Birthday David, have a great day.

The magic number is 4

4 is the magic number.

Not 5, 4 :)

Oliver duty!!! Now that sounds like fun..
my pat retort at work today was, at least I am not trapped in a mine with 3 mexicans, no food inhaling methane gas, and only donnie and marie looking for me! that did scare a lot of people off I may add. I have inherited cookies cell phone, so I can be reached at her 597# and I promise I will keep it on, unlike the fixxitts.
mmm I am racking my brains trying to think of what has been more fun watching the AL east lead shrink, and you know what I cant thnk of anything that has been more fun!
GO YANKEES

Anonymous said...

cookie just called and her rental car for the next 3 days is a canary yellow PT cruiser, only she called it a PT looser! She says even the dashboard is yellow!
Scott Farkus eye yellow???
mmm I wonder

Anonymous said...

Sandra and I had a dark grey PT Looser convertible in Florida and I have to say, I wasn't a fan. I mean it was a car, soooooo... but it's wasn't anything I would run out and buy.

Would that have been something last night if the Yanks ended the game with TWO outs at the plate?
Captain Clutch comes through again with a "hot scorcher" to win the game. Thatt's sarcasm BTW, Jeter had a check swing single that barely got by the pitcher on the right side.

Anonymous said...

Auntie and I had a rented PT cruiser for our Pa. trip. What a piece of.....Uncomfortable, no pick up, lousy gas mileage and to make matters worse it was a Canadian car with Que. plates with everything in kilometers. I had no idea how far anything was or how fast I was going.Auntie called it a "stupid, stupid car". Thank God for Tim Wakefield's continued mastery of the Devil Rays. On a positive note, I survived the "BlueZone" last evening at Dunn. No, I bailed in the 8th inning. I hate it when the beer flows nonstop. I even won one of "moundball" pools to the tune of $40 which paid for my evening. That little "anti-Utah" outburst by Auntie B. was a might scary. Does that mean that Mitt is off her presidential wish list?

Anonymous said...

Does that mean that the UnkieC Family will miss the chowder party? KDH...can ya make it?

Anonymous said...

Mmmmmm... chowder.

Anonymous said...

I turned down the cruiser the last time it was offered to me at the rental counter. Just too silly for words. Though I admit I did get a chuckle when I showed up at a meeting to find my colleague -- a big strapping ex=Marine -- driving a purple one. Hee hee!

103 here today. croquet anyone?

And who knew that Phil Rizzuto did the voiceover during Meatloaf's classic "paradise by the dashboard light"? Rest in peace and HOLY COW!

Anonymous said...

mmmm chowder indeed!

Anonymous said...

thrillie called me at work today, and did not realize the mention of the PT Looser would bring up such a conversation on the family blog, funny..
I am curious where does the PT Cruiser fall on Mr Fixxitts radar???
I know its not a chevy, but where does he rate it??
MMMMMMMMMM Chowder, with oyster crackers and cold beer YUM YUM
It appears HOTlanta has been triple digits for some time now??How are you coping??
Other than that nothing really new. Its wed, sigh...

Anonymous said...

I have been so lucky as to be blessed with perfect timing that I just so happen to be in McConnellsburg, PA when the Futlon County Fair is in full swing.
Tonight I will be attending the World Class Fair with a colleague who insures me that there will be sheep judging and a tractor trailer pull. YIPPEE!!

Anonymous said...

Sheep judging a tractor pull??? That is weird.

I believe Mr. Fixxit describes the PT Looser as pure, unadulterated crap. That might be my review though. I can't remember.

I can't wait for some oyster crackers with that chowder.

Fishing tonight with the fam.

Anonymous said...

Oh yea, Rizzuto did Meatloaf's "Dashboard Lights". He called Maris' 61st too. His name was also used as a spelling word in Billy Madison. Two "rr's" Funny movie.
He made me want to borrow mmoney from the Money Store.

Jff had to use up some PTO time & went to the Bisons game this afternoon with his family...he is so bad...we had to force him to take some time for himself!

Anonymous said...

Just for the record I worked REALLY hard today until 1:30 when I left.
Great comeback win today for the Bisons.

who is doing something really fun this weekend, anybody anybody???
lets see I am refrigerator shopping this weekend, how annoying is that! Jenna has tickets to the bills game tonite.
GO BILLS!
How could nephew possibly have PTO time? How many hours of PTO do you earn for every hour worked?? Sweet Gig
enjoy the day family
Its here for us!

I worked the whole day today (minus errands).

Zach's going to the drags tonight with Gary, not Thrllie's BF, but Zach's papa (that's where I liked to be).
Emma's watching High School Musical II with me (after a promise I made). I would really like to go to Batavia tonight. The Muckdogs and Doubledays are playing.
Zach has a birthday party on Saturday and his baseball banquet on Sunday.
Not too busy of a weekend.

Anonymous said...

I just came home after working 60 hours this week. I was wondering if I could get a gig like cousin Jeff has.

I couldn't make the Bills game tonight, I was scheduled to have a softball coaches meeting. So I gave the tickets to the director of maintenance who promised to install a fan in my bathroom.

Well needless to say the meeting was cancelled and the DOM took the tickets and changed his cell number.

Anonymous said...

JFF, can I borrow your tent for Saturday night??? Call you tomorrow

Anonymous said...

Yep, you got it. Call me. I'm home in the AM. Most likely gone by noon.

What about other camping gear? I have it all.

Anonymous said...

Where you going sissy? How come I was not invited!

You never take me anywhere fun!

Anonymous said...

oh boy...

Anonymous said...

Nc jnn, NOBODY has a "gig" like nphw jff so don't even bother looking. Sounds like lots of activity this weekend for everyone. Went to Jamestown yesterday to catch the "jammers". The noble opposition was our old favorites, the Mahoning Valley Scrappers. Auntie is now "insisting" on a trip to M. Valley since she has adopted it as "her team".We need to find out where it is. Everyone should have such loyal fans as Auntie. Looks like a run into NT today. Mom probably needs a few things by now and Auntie B. took care of last Sat. Have a good one all.

Anonymous said...

You can't beat the Scrappers.

We had an enjoyable day at Niagara Falls. Walked Goat Island and around the tourist trap. Very nice day indeed.

Zach won handcuffs at LazerTron at a bday party today. I may have to borrow them.

Anonymous said...

Softball tryouts this AM for my 16U team. No one here is eligible, well Zach and Emma are.

Then I am heading into work to attempt to get caught up.

Have an enjoyable Sunday everyone.

Anonymous said...

Work on a Sunday??? Yuckies. I think I'll sit with a cup of joe and read the paper until church begins instead.

No plans today... that actually sounds nice. Enjoy the gloom today.

Anonymous said...

Morning family!
There's a chill in the air here in Hotlanta this morning -- and its not just from the drubbing my hometown atlanta braves took last night! the temperature dropped to 93 - its a little chilly!
Happy Sunday everyone... I've got that "back to school" feeling that comes wtih the end of August, so I'm going to get organized and make some lists. Anything to avoid writing that paper I promised myself I'd finish before the end of the weekend!

Anonymous said...

Does anyone else love Reno 911 as much as me? So funny. My god! I'm a little obsessed with watching the reruns I've downloaded from Itunes. Very dangerous.

Anonymous said...

Nice to know that nc jnn was carrying the work load for all of us today. #1 daughter was obviously trying to avoid work this morning with multiple blog comments. Hope that everyone had a productive Sunday.

Anonymous said...

I had VIP hospitality tickets to the bills training camp today. Unlimited Free food and booze during their 40min. practice. I am serious, 40min! I also got a free t-shirt, bookbag, and magnet! Cleaned up pretty good for pretending to be my boss for the afternoon.

Anonymous said...

I can't wait to see the souveniers that Jill brings home!

Anonymous said...

Just in case everyone forgot... Jnna held softball tryouts this AM at Lincoln Park. I showed up on time and was the biggest one on the field. I took some cuts, fielded some grounders at short (showing off my arm), and ran the bases. I was later pulled aside by the coaches (knowing I made the team) and told that it was for 16 and under (I still have my sheriffs card) and for girls. A little embarassed, I did have to ask, if I was the best one out there. Jnna, holding back the tears, said no, I wasn't. How far have the mighty fallen?

Sounds like a fun day Thrllie.

KDH, that too sounds like a fun day... you can never have too many lists.

Anonymous said...

Once again JT's day dwarfs everyone else's,with possibly the exception of nc jll--but how much food and beer can one consume in 40 min.? I would like to try. Quiet here in EA as everyone gears up for the big Toyfest weekend. Always a good time to leave town. Have a good one all

Anonymous said...

UGH it is Monday, what else is left to be said!
KDH, I LOVE RENO 911! Officer Dick Dingle!
Jnna, did assure me that Emma made whatever team she wanted to be on and would be named captain!
Back to School, is in the air! Time to sharpen pencils and get new shoes!
Nothing about camping Cookie???
Did the room divider for the tent work?
Cookie, allegedly off to Phoneix this week?
have a great monday all.
One week from today is Jff's birthday, where did that countdown go?
where did summer go?
have bison tickets for saturday, anyone else going?

Anonymous said...

It's tough to have a JT birthday countdown when my birthday month starts July 19th. I've had a wonderful birthday summer so far though.

Auburn Doubledays on Friday, but we're not going to Cooperstown now. We're going in September.

Anonymous said...

Still enjoying the taste of my pigs in the blanket from Athena's six hours later. The lady from Luther Manor went thru a pot roast and mashed potato plate but still had enuf energy for a stop at Al-kaida, that apparently did not pay off. She promised a phone call if her scratch-off ship came in but only silence. If the Doubledays play Mahoning Valley, you have to promise to root for the Scrappers. We have adopted them as "our team". Maybe Eric Gagne will be pitching for them. The rumor is that he is onthe list for a share of Yankee playoff money.

Anonymous said...

Jff did a great job at SS this weekend! But, unfortunately we did have to cut Jeff.

But Emma is always welcome on the 10 U Lady Express. Or the 16 U could use a bat girl.

I will be in a Suite on Wednesday for the Bisons game courtesy of work. Yeah take that Jill!

It's fajita night in the buffalo news suite.

Love "lists" KDH...ever do something and add it to your list later just so you can cross it off? Now THAT is satisfaction!
