Yankees v. Blue Jays 5/12/2009

A Pictorial & Reflective Blog
by JT Pilaf

At least we won the series.
Keep that elbow up Hidecki.
How's the weather up there CC? Gorgeous night outside and the roof was closed. Does that make sense?

ARod watching BP and Tony Pena with the fungo giving fielding practice to Brian Bruney... like he needs it.

I yelled out to Brian Bruney he used to be on my fantasy team and he got me 4 holds until he got hurt. He didn't seem to care. Thus the wave off.

Jeter hurt, Ramiro Pena in. Not exactly a fair trade-off.

Robinson Cano with the strong arm to first taking fielding practice.

I never had sideburns like this. Not sure if I'd look good in them.

Damon trying to get a double out of what should have been an easy double. Looked safe from my seat.

I'm not a big fan of Joey G and I asked him if his NorthWestern degree was a helping him any? This was after he had just got done talking to AJ Burnett after AJ was blowing up in the 6th inning.

Where is everybody in the upper deck?

AJ pitched a good game outside of one bad inning.

Good picture, but ARod didn't get a hit.

Tex holding Rios close, not that he was a threat to steal.
Shawn and I had fun and the opening game Tuesday night (5/12), me with my Yankee shirt on and he with his Red Sox shirt on. We made quite the pair.

ugh, I'm feeling a bit sick.

Yeah, I got a comment... even though was from Adm (anti-baseball which equals anti-american).

Okay, ya made me giggle.

My son called to let me know of the new blog. I love the concept but am not a big fan of the subject matter. Looks like really good seats tho. Auntie is quite proud of herself as she had the exacta in today's race. The bad part was that I could not find her ticket and she accused me of not placing the bet for her. I literally tore the house apart and eventually found the ticket stuck on the back of today's sports page. I am still awaiting the apology for all of the harsh words.

Might be awhile... make some coffee.

We were right behind first base, row 30, seats 1&2. The seats were excellent, unfortunately the stinky brothers were right next us and every now and then our eyes teared up when they moved and stirred up the unpleasant aroma of death.

Just came back from Erie PA and spending the afternoon with friends and Austin at Splash Lagoon to ring in his 14th birthday. Hard to believe that he is 14!

In reexamining the blog, Jff, I feel a little unsettled by the number of closeups of yankee player bums. Jff, you have some splainin' to do!

The lad does have a point JT. I think that this calls for an equal time Fenway blog. What say to this family?

Happy Sunday!
Great Job Nephew!!! What a pictorial, I felt like I was right there, listening to John Sterling!
Gives me goosebumps!
It is Austin's birthday weekend, so we are fervishly trying to do it up right! But no local games today, so I am quessing it will be hot dogs and the Yankee game!

A big H. B. to Austin on his 14th! Wow, 2nd teenage birthday already. Time does fly. Enjoy the day my boy.

I can not apologize for my Yankee man-crush. It started with Thurman, grew to an uncomfortable feeling with Donnie baseball and then went right into Jeter. No apologies. It's a man-crush, not anything more and I grew to become comfortable with it. Sandra understands and is actually a lil' turned on at times.

Feel free Adm to post your latest Red Sox game you attended... I'm a baseball fan first, A Yankee fan second, and a REDSUX hater third.

Jnna, Sndra said the clothes for your friend are at GG's house.

Thank you so much! I will swing by and get them.

Betsy said...

thank goodness its Monday! How long have we waited to say that.
personally I am grateful for the rise the Yankee blog got out of Adm, because seriously that is the only time we hear from him!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
Ours was fun, thanks for asking!
anti baseball = anti american.
who is funnier than our jffry, now come on who???
EXACTLY!
Have a stupendous day one and all!

so a new york times reporter was reprimanded for taking an entire paragraph from a liberal blog???
Maybe we should start checking all the periodicals to ensure we are not being plagarized?
Because I am pretty sure, that I have recognized some of our witticisms in the Tonawanda News!
KDH, check the Atlanta Sun and Journal to make sure, OK
Adm, The Boston Globe
UC & AP, the EA BEE
I think we have it covered!

Me, I'm concerned about being quoted in the outside media too, maybe Rush, but anyhow: anybody else having a problem with TO getting a key to the city? Did they give it because his girlfriend called and said he was suicidal? Did he at least have his weights with him, take his shirt off and lay on the floor of the AlbrightKnox and do a few curls? I don't remember Tom cousineau or Al Cowlings getting a key. I take pride in being a b-ball fan first, a yankee hater 2nd, a fan of anybody but the yankees third, and on my dyslectic days a retah eeknay.

jt said...

You always make me giggle Unckie.

I too am having trouble with Owens getting a key to the city. Hey, Losman planted some trees... nuttin'.

I believe it was Owens' publicist that called 911, not the girlfriend. And then she gave $42 million reasons why he wouldn't commit suicide.

Took the kids to the driving range again. Emma said that Monday is golf day... how true, how true.

Betsy said...

settle down boys, I am sure some noteworthy dignitaries were given the key to the city of Buffalo!
I am sure OJ, John Hummer, and Tom Sestak were given the hardware just to name a few!
WELCOME TO to Buffalo!
Golf is for Monday, thats great..
Lets hope Emma never learns what GOLF really means, gentleman only ladies forbidden, she may have a changed mind for mondays!

I'm not going to be the one to tell her. We'll have to come up with a new meaning for the acronym. How's "Guys Or Ladies Fun"?

Big day today, big day. We've got soccer, art, band... way too much going on.

unkie said...

I think that AB is right. I recall seeing what appeared to be a large gold key on the dashboard of the white bronco AC was driving. Right, $42 million reasons. It was a chick that said it tho wasn't it.Me being the suspicious one that I am automatically assumed that there was more than a "business connection". My day is pretty quiet by comparison but I guess that is OK. Ah yes, a John Hummer reference. Regretably all too infrequent.

happy tuesday..
so neil everett from sportscenter makes me laugh. Every time there is a mis communication between a pitcher and a catcher, he always says, and men are predispositioned to mis communication. makes me laugh!
have a great day

Betsy said...

My brother and I totally insync!
Not to be confused with the boyband!

unk said...

That timing thing with AB has happened way too often. I can say that it is most unlikely, neigh unto impossible, that both Auntie P and I will both have comments at 7:33 AM. That time does not work real well for her, especially after an exhausting night of DWTS.

jt said...

I always await Auntie P's comments at around 10:30ish... or later. To be expected tho after an exhausting DWTS. Is Shaun going to win?

Betsy said...

Is Shaun going to win?
Is Adam Lambert going to win?
Are the Yankee's going to win?
Which Jockey will ride mine that bird?
way to many uncertainties for a tuesday

It is getting painful to watch sports center. The baseball results are the same every day. And the RedSocks nation is relying on Wakefield as the "ace" of the staff and big papi couldn't get a starting spot with the Bisons. These are NOT good times. 2 more days with the seniors, yeah!

Betsy said...

I have been told by everyone that comes in my office that it is a beautiful day outside! Is that true??

Betsy said...

did everyone hear on Spotscenter Los Angeles, bigpappysappy call himself a monkeyback??? Yea, me too!
What an upset, Kris over Adam. Now that was from left field, was'nt it?
Does everyone realize its only Thursday?
Have a great day under the flourescent lights!

unkie said...

Last class day for the seniors and all of the nonsense that goes with it. I thought that I had retired from all of this, so I guess that it will be hard to find someone else to blame for my day today. Sportscenter was dismal again. At least my breakfast western omelet(made with eggbeaters) at Athena's was outstanding. And I will be out of here at 1 PM today, almost nfw jff hours. I can see the sunshine.

Anybody have big plans for Memorial Weekend? I got nothing. Is it 4:30pm yet?

I'm going to Boston for Oliver's 2nd birthday party and I'm VERY EXCITED!

Happy almost Birthday Oliver!

Friday evening and I've got a growler of Vanilla Bean Brown Ale at my disposal.

Unckie's out at 1PM... I am sooo jealous. Pretty soon he'll be sleepin' in until 1PM. I got into the wrong profession... nah, just kiddin'.

Yankees- Phillies tonight in 20 minutes... Brown Ale... ???? ... Yep, add them all up and I'm off to the driving range with Zachary to hit a few.

Betsy said...

Saturday, Saturday, Saturday, YEA!
Happy soon to be 2 Oliver!
I wonder if my bro has a little bit more spring in his step, as his BFF man crush, sunk a last second shop!
Enjoy the day, and all that it brings!

Saturday indeed, I've had my coffee and moment of piece outside already. And now I'm good to start the day. Shall I work or relax... maybe I'll ponder that question with another cup of coffee and my faithful dog by my side.
