Happy Happy Birthday to Gram! It sounds like yesterday was a great day for a party. I was there in spirit if not body. Glad you all could get togther to celebrate -- good times.
From the sound of the conversation last evening, Mom had a great birthday---again--with a trip to Honeoye (the last question which of course meant that I could have never won) for the day, compliments of AB and nc jnn. May we all be able to make it to 93 and still be able to enjoy the things that make us happy (she did admit to being a bit spoiled tho)
We did have a great day at Honeoye, and a wonderful lunch at a lovely restaurant that overlooked Canisus Lake! The food was yummy and the conversation better!. Just to recap, my sister and my daughters, all trekked down to Honeyoye to spend the afternoon with cousins Barb and Chuck, so Gramma could spend her birthday at the lake. She was absolutely thrilled!
So rooting for the Russians did absolutely no good! Snowing a little, not the gloom and doom predicted. I am pretty sure the grocery store will be a zoo irregardless! Waiting anxiously for the weekend! Is it here yet? Cookie is in Jackson, Mississippi for the day. Now isnt the johnny cash song in your head, going down to jackson, I know me too...
I had seafood in Jackson Mississippi once. That was a mistake. Jackson is nowhere near the water. How does one get from Buffalo to JAckson? I can't imagine that's an easy flight.
The snow is well snowing. Not insurmountable though Happy Birthday Eve AP, cookie loved loved loved the website you sent her and your suggestions! Thank you so much for your elegant opinion! Most appreciated What time does the 4 man bobsled start, I am pumped for that! stay warm, dry and safe family Its a blizzard out there!
Some random thoughts gathered as I white-knuckled it both ways today. Some nasty accidents to observe on the Thruway this afternoon. U.S. DOMINATES Finland, yeah!! Take the gold medals away from the drunken, underage canadian women's hockey players and give them to the US players. Talked to last week's birthday girl and it sounds like she is under the weather. Green grass in Jackson, miss? Take a look out the window and start a pool as to when we see green grass here. KDH is treating her mom to a room at the fallsview for her birthday, and the best part is that I get to go too. Worked with bobsled steve mesler's dad so I will be rooting for him. Has to make you wonder tho when the GW softball player quits softball to become a bronze medal bobsledder 3 yrs later. Ncs jll, jnn, you hear that? Enjoy the weekend all.
I love random unkie thoughts! Happy Birthday Aunt Patti! I hope you have a great day! Gram is feeling much better. Off to get my hair cut and a massage/spa package!
Happy Happy Bithday AP! This whitewonderland is in your honor! Win big at the Casino! Or at least rest and enjoy! Great birthday gift! Yes last weeks birthday girl was a little bit under the weather, she had the sniffles, but seems to be on the road to recovery. Drive careful on the Robert Moses brother, its the falls and they neither plow or salt
Good mornin' fam, back to back posts... I must be important. Huge day today, US v. Canada... my whole day revolves around this game. One word: Chicken wings and beer. I can't wait. GO USA!!!
Back from all an too short stay with our LUCKY (based on the recent hockey results) neighbors to the north. Does Sid the Kid have Ryan's number? Great time, didn't lose too much with an excellent Casino buffet last nite--thought of UG's birthday trip--and an equally good breakfast buffet this morning. Back to work tomorrow, yuck.
Read about the prank call but didn't hear it. That's funny though. Congrats Canada. That's right. I said it. Too bad USA lost... what a game though; one for the ages. They played their hearts out.
Dang! Let me know when a piano falls on cindy crosbys head. too disheartening, and its still winter, and tomorrow is monday, sigh when will it end.....
What a game what a game! It may upset the family, but I looooove Sidney, so as sad as I was that the USA lost, I was glad at least we lost to the kid's goal.
Caroline's not so definate on her love of hockey, though. Between the yelling at the TV and the constant struggle to keep her from watching it, she spent most of yesterday afternoon a little startled!
Crosby is a thorn in Buffalo's side. He is the reason we lost the Ice Bowl on national tv and he scored a hat trick against us this season. Boo to Crosby!
Nephew, my hand is in the air, and that goes for tomorrow too! I am encouraging all to join the face book crusade, Can Ryan Miller get more fans than Cindy Crosby. I know I know there are alot of groups to join that do alot of good, but this is a must! Or there is also Can this diaper get mor fans than Cindy Crosby, either will do just vote!
So my sister and I are venturing to Philadelphia to the flower show. I am very excited! My sister calls me last nite just to firm up our plans? And she was told we could not leave until she washed her car, so I am hoping she gets that done timely! Off to work, NY Yankee's game at 1PM ( loved loved loved typing that!) and tomorrow off to our nations capitol from 1790-1800!
Even tho it is on the YES network, at least it is baseball. The sun is almost out, I heard a bird singing this morning and optimism is peeking out from the snowbank. Enjoy the day all and travel safely AB. Sid did it again last nite.
It snowed all day yesterday down here in the deep south, and the wind chill this morning is in the 20s. Has the world turned upside down? Where do I have to sacrifice the goat to get this craziness to STOP????
CJ got a big wet blob of snow in the face during her outing with her dad yesterday, and she registered significant displeasure at the concept of semi-solid, cold water falling from the sky. Smart girl!
Raise your hand if you dont have to go to work today. see my hand is up! Packing for flyer country. Beer, check Can not think of another thing I need! Will keep all updated on the Philadelphia International Flower show, can I bring anyone anything, a touch of spring per haps!
There was one year that Sean and I (remember him?) drove up to Philly for the flower show. Except we went the day after it closed. oops!
It gets crowded in there Antie B. Get your elbows ready. And be sure to go across the street to Reading Terminal market for a cheesesteak or an Italian Hoagie. Delicious!
Hey, any news from the flower people in philly? I think we should all go to work tomorrow to make up for those who took off thurs. and fri. and are not contributing. What about all of this sunshine?
The Philly girls are heading home from their excursion. I am sure there will be a blog to follow. I was at the Sabres game courtesy of my friend Kristin. For some reason I ended up on tv, in which my sister freeze framed the tv and took a picture and texted it to me. Let's just say MSG did not get my better side.
Jnna, last time I went to a hockey game with adam, we ended up on the kiss-cam. AWKward .....
We are all up in the north Georgia mountains .... It's spring break for my boys so we decided to go cottaging. I spent today riding a bike for the first time in 15 (20?) years and playing tag on the beach. I imagine walking tomorrow will be a little Ginger. Wish me luck.
So I had this great idea for a spring blog, with all the pictures I took at the PHS, FYI, PHS stands for Pennsylvania Horticulteral Show, and I was given an inservice by my daughter on the correct settings for the camera, etc, and all my pictures turned out horrible, so maybe I will just go to Wegman's and take pictures of there flowers, you guys wont know right? All in all a great weekend with my sister. But boy was our mother in a snit that we did not take her! Moving into Wed, now that is exciting!
All sorts of fun things going on. Photo trips to Wegmans, cottageing in the mountains?? of north ga. and candid photos galore. Me, I got nothing except a lot of good moments outside in 50 + weather, something that we haven't seen in way TOOOOOOOOO long. Enjoy all.
Man it was gorgeous out yesterday. I was out for lunch eating in the park and I almost got the urge to go for a walk. I know we're going to get hit with snow again BUT, it seems that spring might be around the corner.
Zach will be off in Ohio for the weekend and Emma's spending the night at Nana and Papa Fixxits, what's a married couple to do?
Boy did I get a lot of dirty looks as I walked out the door yesterday at 11 AM, my day complete. sometimes it's nice being a part timer. Today it is off to Albany to meet up with the Quincy Holtzes for a little hotel/pool action with the big O. Hope that the Pilafs can find something to do with their children gone. Auntie and I spent many productive hours rearranging the knicknacks throughout the house. Quite rewarding. Enjoy all.
Just re read all the posts, as I am bored, nothing on facebook or TV. And I totally missed the whole Jermajesty comments, where was I? It is pouring! Travel safe to see Mr O, UC & AP! Everyone have a busy weekend planned? Tomorrow cookie and I have a meeting with the florist, and after that I got nothing, maybe I will go see Avatar on my nephews suggestion, mmmm maybe not. Saw Shutter Island last week, you know the movie they say is like a Hitchcock thriller, but let me just say Leornardo DiCaprio is no jimmy stewart ( RearWindow) or Cary Grant( North by North west) and gramma's favorite movie star!
Had I been online at 7:45 pancakes would have hit the spot. Sorry I missed out.
As the day continued it involved helping Mr. Fixxit get back online with his computer (that took 16 seconds). We then picked up Emma from her night of pizza and games at nana and papas and Emma suggested Chili's for lunch (wasn't that nice of her?). We finished off our travels with a trip to the library to pick up some DVDs.
I went to a benefit in NT where they have horse races (virtual) and you can place bets on horses in different races if your horse is not in that race. (Are you following me everyone?). Well in the 2nd race horse # 8 was Sweet Caroline. I proudly bet $10, on # 8 and lost :(. Sweet Caroline did place 2nd. I argued that Sweet Caroline always wins and begged for a re-match. It was a great night. I talked baseball with a few of Dads former baseball players and even let them buy me a few drinks! Thanks Dad!
Ugh to Monday! I had thought about a new blog, but I do think that Gramms's picture is very pretty! We do have a moving day blog coming up? St Patrick's day blog? Maybe I can get a flower show blog up but the only good pictures I have are of my sister, and seriously how many of those do you want me to post? How frustrating must it be for Mr Fixxitt who can pretty much fix anything with the insides of a ball point pen, not be able to master internet malfunctions! Its his Krypotonite I telly ya! Had a great session with our floral designer on Saturday! Oddly enough cookies flower choices, are the most expensive! go figure Its monday, and I can honestly say, all I really want to do at work is goof off...
Oliver took his responsibilites for entertaining nana and myself very seriously for the weekend and did an excellent job. Back home and back to work. Snow is melting, birds are singing and golf courses along the thruway were open. It's March Madness and could the world possibly be a better place???? I think not. enjoy!!
Orlando bound with Austin this week. Hopefully the weather will hold up for us! I met someone at work today whose name is Anastasia. When I called grandma, her response was; "tell her I am sorry." She ranted and vented about how she wished she was named after her other grandma, Victoria Rose. Her one piece of advice for the 24 year old was to change her name.
Spring has sprung down here in the ATL too -- still a little cool as the sun dips down, but all the grass has turned green (poof -- just like that!) and the daffodils are blooming. Everyone's mood has brightened significantly too -- which is a definate benefit.
Sorry Sweet Caroline didn't come through for you, Jenna. I won't tell the girl she let you down :)
The REAL sweet caroline would never let anyone down. Terry Hills is open for the season and I think that I might be travelling that way tomorrow for a quick 9. The alternative is attacking all of the desbris in the yard, which is most unlikely. Love that sunshine!!
Playing 9, 4PM, 5 days??? What's with all the numbers? "Can't you see I'm dying inside" Thank you, thank you very much. That was James Dean doing a lil' something from Rebel Without A Cause. Thank you. You're too kind.
Noon tipoffs. One of my favorite days of the year. Not barachatology for me, just head to head betting on the games. Glad to be done with work by 11 and then home. Heard that that Pilafs hosted the birthday girl--HB Ms. Fixxitt--for a little corned beef last nite. Any truth to that rumor or was it just GG's way of trying to catch a free meal? She did score an Athena fish fry yesterday so she was somewhat placated. Enjoy the day all, I certainly plan to.
2 ots and a one pointer in the first 3 games. It's 3 pm and I am already exhausted. If I were the Robert Morris coach they would have to pull me off the officials. Talk about a hosing!! More, more, more!
Dont tell me who won, as I still have to turn in my picks! Stopped by to wish my sister a very happy birthday and watch the Sabres win biggg!!! Had a very nice visit with the birthday girl, and after much discussion it was decided that her current home, is 2 years older than she is. So we did find something older than she is!
It's Murray STATE, not murrayhill, an old phone exchange from the days of the Honeymooners, and I MAY have been a bit distracted. Me, I with my old alma mater Cornell to go all the way. Well, I was in Ithaca, same as cornell so close enough. Go outside rake, come in and watch, more raking, etc. Played at southshore yesterday under not the best of conditions, but it was still march golf in WNY.
Message for the commissioner. I registered for fantasy but that made it an odd number. If no one else is on the hook for joining, feel free to drop me since I was the last one in and there can't be a draft with an odd number. More basketball today, but I can't imagine a better game than Kansas getting beat yesterday. Go Big Red!
I registered this AM, so I am the last one in, and Jnna has to get on board. I believe Eric wants in? Or no You will not be dropped brother Many thanks to AP yesterday for assisting with veil duties, I can cross that off my list, and just to let you know SIL you have been added to the spread sheet. Happy Sunday, kind of gloomy, and rainy so that will eliminate all outside duties. Tomorrow is monday and we all know what that means
hi family! it was 73 and sunny this weekend -- then a giant thunderstorm blew in last night (with hail!) and its 43 now. Dang. Spring is a tease this year.
Who is anonymous? Barack? Is he now available once his health care reform bill has passed? Just wondering? Caroline will be 2 days shy of 6 Months old when baseball season begins, the perfect age for a double header! Ugh to all this rain, at least its not snow!

Sounds like a really nice day.
No score after 2 periods against the swiss. They're playing a "neutral" zone trap... go figure.
Lets go Russia!!!
Lets Go Russia!!
So rooting for the Russians did absolutely no good!
Snowing a little, not the gloom and doom predicted. I am pretty sure the grocery store will be a zoo irregardless!

Cookie is in Jackson, Mississippi for the day.
Now isnt the johnny cash song in your head, going down to jackson, I know me too...
I made it home from Jackson last night. It was sunny and 50ยบ there and they had green grass! I was just a little jealous.

I love random thoughts too... its a shame there couldn't have been music with that.
I saw The Avett Brothers last night in Ithaca, to all the youngsters out there in "Blobland", you have to see these guys... Incredible!!!
Good mornin' fam, back to back posts... I must be important.
Huge day today, US v. Canada... my whole day revolves around this game. One word: Chicken wings and beer. I can't wait.

Happy Birthday Aunt Patti!!
Anybody hear the Ryan Miller prank call into MSNBC? It didn't even sound like him !

Caroline's not so definate on her love of hockey, though. Between the yelling at the TV and the constant struggle to keep her from watching it, she spent most of yesterday afternoon a little startled!
Sit/Stay... Sit/Stay. You gotta love it. I'm sure Caroline will catch on soon enough.
Was it just me or did anyone else NOT want to ba at work today? Show of hands.
Crosby is a thorn in Buffalo's side. He is the reason we lost the Ice Bowl on national tv and he scored a hat trick against us this season. Boo to Crosby!
Happy Birthday Grandpa! We raised a glass to you tonight! Miss you!
Apparently I had to many drinks as I repeated myself!
Nephew, my hand is in the air, and that goes for tomorrow too!
I am encouraging all to join the face book crusade, Can Ryan Miller get more fans than Cindy Crosby.

I love baseball!
Great to see ya again sir... you were missed. Sit down and have a cold one with me.
Did I miss Grandpa's bday.... Happy birthday grandpa... I'll have one tonight in your honor.
where's my post?

Raise your hand if you dont have to go to work today. see my hand is up!
Packing for flyer country.

Can not think of another thing I need!
Will keep all updated on the Philadelphia International Flower show, can I bring anyone anything,
a touch of spring per haps!

It gets crowded in there Antie B. Get your elbows ready. And be sure to go across the street to Reading Terminal market for a cheesesteak or an Italian Hoagie. Delicious!
Day late, dollar short. Hopefully the staek hoagie took your minds off the missed event.
I'm going to see Avatar again. Man, I love that movie.
Yeah Friday!!!
It's getting lighter out in the AM, it seems a little warmer, birds are waking me up... a storm should be comin' soon.
Was anyone else aware that Jermaine Jackson has a son name Jermajesty?
Just throwing that tidbit out there!
Jermajesty is a completely awesome name. I'm telling you -- I get a resume in for a Jermajesty, he's getting hired before I even OPEN the resume!
Jermajesty sounds like a aloe detergent. It doesn't even sound like it would work.
I'd hire him though.
Wish me luck.
hahaha thats pretty funny K! Have fun cottaging!
KDH, not sure what cottaging is... but it sounds fun.
Who actually keeps their e-filing pin numbers? Seriously?
So I had this great idea for a spring blog, with all the pictures I took at the PHS, FYI, PHS stands for Pennsylvania Horticulteral Show, and I was given an inservice by my daughter on the correct settings for the camera, etc, and all my pictures turned out horrible, so maybe I will just go to Wegman's and take pictures of there flowers, you guys wont know right?
All in all a great weekend with my sister. But boy was our mother in a snit that we did not take her!
Moving into Wed, now that is exciting!
I was going to tell you camping but that was a fib because we're in a voyage with sheets and showers ad a kitchen and all that.
All sorts of fun things going on. Photo trips to Wegmans, cottageing in the mountains?? of north ga. and candid photos galore. Me, I got nothing except a lot of good moments outside in 50 + weather, something that we haven't seen in way TOOOOOOOOO long. Enjoy all.
Sheets and showers, no roughing it for our Atlanta Belle's!
I'm a lil' disappointed but I guess I expected it.
Anywho, like Unckie, I got nuttin'. I loved being outside (after work) grilling today though. It kinda reminded me of ummmmmm... daze past, like fall.
OMG, way too nice of a day to be stuck at a desk!
Man it was gorgeous out yesterday. I was out for lunch eating in the park and I almost got the urge to go for a walk. I know we're going to get hit with snow again BUT, it seems that spring might be around the corner.

Eeeee doggie oit's the weekend! And... I'm ... up. Why can't I take advantage of sleeping in?
Have fun in Albany Holtz's, say hi to Gov. Patterson for us... kidding. He owes me my state refund.
I am on board with my nephew, Saturday I am up early raring to go, if it was a work day, UGH UGH UGH.
Lets go out for pancakes, nephew!
Had I been online at 7:45 pancakes would have hit the spot. Sorry I missed out.

I think its time for a new blob. Does anyone have a story to share?
Don't make me post a story about fury woodland creatures.
Had a great session with our floral designer on Saturday! Oddly enough cookies flower choices, are the most expensive!
go figure
Its monday, and I can honestly say, all I really want to do at work is goof off...
I think the name Anastasia's a pretty name.
There, I said my peace.
Beautiful outside. Sandra and I took Jeter for a walk and the kids played street hockey. Everything is alright with the world.
Golf on the thruway??? That's dangerous.
Spring has sprung down here in the ATL too -- still a little cool as the sun dips down, but all the grass has turned green (poof -- just like that!) and the daffodils are blooming. Everyone's mood has brightened significantly too -- which is a definate benefit.

Orlando bound with Austin tomorrow AM. Were all packed and ready to go! Have a good week everyone.
Jenna was nice of enough to call me at 4pm yesterday to rub it in that she was officially on vacation.
Closing on the house in 5 days!
Playing 9, 4PM, 5 days??? What's with all the numbers? "Can't you see I'm dying inside" Thank you, thank you very much. That was James Dean doing a lil' something from Rebel Without A Cause. Thank you. You're too kind.

The rumors are true. Sandra prepared corn beef and cabbage and it was delicious. I never knew she had it in her.
Home today with Em... how nice of her to have a half day today. Also, one of my favorite days of the year.
So we did find something older than she is!
today is winter tomorrow is spring, and that says it all!
enjoy the day
I made the mistake of calling my dad yesterday during the Murray Hill/someone else game. I'm not sure I had his full attention.
Probably not K... just a guess.
I'll say it; it's maaaaaadness! St. Mary's is going to win it all.
Or no
You will not be dropped brother
Many thanks to AP yesterday for assisting with veil duties, I can cross that off my list, and just to let you know SIL you have been added to the spread sheet.
Happy Sunday, kind of gloomy, and rainy so that will eliminate all outside duties.
Tomorrow is monday and we all know what that means
I saw the bronx bombers so you preceded me AB. If nc jnn is still to be added, this may work out.
Looks like Jenna and Austin signed up. So we need one more team. Adam?? Come on I know you have some clever Anti-Yankee team name.
I dreamed of veils, flowers and rhinestones last night. I am honored to be asked!
hi family!
it was 73 and sunny this weekend -- then a giant thunderstorm blew in last night (with hail!) and its 43 now. Dang. Spring is a tease this year.
2 weeks to opening day!
I'm in! Don't give up my spot!
Who is anonymous? Barack? Is he now available once his health care reform bill has passed? Just wondering?
Caroline will be 2 days shy of 6 Months old when baseball season begins, the perfect age for a double header!
Ugh to all this rain, at least its not snow!
I think my coffee maker just died. How disappointing to wake up and not have your hot coffee waiting for you.
Be grateful that you are not an insurance claims adjustor today. I have never seen so many accidents. Wow!
