First, the sad news. Stacy and I did not eat wings on Wednesday. That ended our consecutive days eaten string at 5 days, falling short of our previous record of 8. We'll try and do better on our next trip up, which needs to happen more often. The good news was that our return trip to Asheville checked in at over two hours less than Friday's drive. Still, 11 and a hours is a long time in a car. But it was all well worth it as we had an awesome time from beginning to end. There's plenty of photos already posted, so I'll try not to duplicate the effort. But here's some more.

And I am the first to post. Let's hear it for me! Great Pix and the best part is that the center of the family photo from Duff's, the fine young gentleman who took the family picture, was sitting in our section at the Bisons game today. Thank you Rick for the photos. Had a great time seeing you guys and let's make sure that it isn't so long til we see you and Stacy again.
What a great suprise! A blog by Cousin Rick!!!! Thank you for posting the pictures. We had an amazing time! Come back soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A historical first, a blog by nephew Rick! Great job! Great pix, and we had such a wonderful time together! Major family events need to happen more often!
Good luck to the wedding party today, it looks like a gorgeous day!
So excited to watch ms Audrey this evening with an oliver potential!
I hope she likes Yankee games, or we could re play the convincing Bills win of last evening!
Enjoy friday all!
Round 2 of weddings to begin. We are off to a good start with bfst at Earl's and an abbreviated round of golf, ala Holtzapalooza. Looks like a beautiful day.
a most enjoyable evening watching Ms Audrey Elizabeth, who was a joy to watch!
She fit right in at 431, eat and sleep, and talk!
Thanks Amy and Adam for letting us keep Ms Audrey for a little bit, it was fun!
Nice pictures, thanks for sharing.
It bums me out a bit that the consecutive daze eating wings couldn't even reach 7, that's just sad.
Had a GREAT time watching Ms. Audrey! I did realize that our schedule's do not differ that much (eat, sleep)!
All guests have departed and are now safely back home. I am thinking that it's going to be a REAL early turnin tonite. The last week has been a blast.
Unckie finished writing his post at 7:54, rolled over in his bed at 8:03... nice job.
We got to see one Bison game last night a 5-4 win over the Red Sox. Then the sprinklers were turned on before game #2 and we waited through the rain delay for about 30 minutes before Sandra said it was time to go home (I was happy).
We have another game today.... more rain. Whatever.
Enjoy your day all.
Tried posting and got denied. What did i do?? Anyhow, in a nutshell, jff was right about time last nite and its a doubleheader today. Rain, rain, go away.
Back to reality tomorrow! UGH! I hope everyone had a great time at the wedding and it was wonderful to see everyone! I know Gary and I had a blast!
Wedding mode is over, back to house renovation mode!
Unkie perhaps you said something that offended the blog world. In all honesty it was probably just a glitch. I have AP's cake knife sitting in my truck. Can I drop it off tomorrow before the police pull me over with a weapon in my car?
Need 4 new tires for the truck this week so it can make it to Cayuga Lake in one piece! Excited for the camping excursion (sp).
Fun time at the Bisons game again today; another double header, Sandra loves these... God bless her. Plus, no rain.
They got pounded in the first game 9-2 and were winning the second game when we left Pettibones in the 5th inning. Goofy me made reservations for Pettibones again on Wednesday for me and just the kids. As good a reason as any to go out and see another ballgame.
Welcome back newlywed couple. I hope you guys had an awesome time.
Just a few random thoughts?
Basking in the glow of our big event! How much fun was that!
Again thanks to all who made the fun possible.
Had so much fun watching Ms Audrey, she had definate opinions about being fed, but seriously dont we all!
Very excited for our First annual family Camping Trip to Commemorate Jeffrey's date of birth!
The copper mold for the statue of Liberty is up for auction? Pirate gift? thumbs up or thumbs down?
Man Vs Food will be going to the Silo to attempt to eat the Haystack. The pictures Rick took and posted of Sue, Jnna and I are from the Silo, where Rick ordered the HayStack, and I believe he did not have an issue finishing?
UC & AP, whatever will you do with such a quiet house! Bet you miss the noise!
enjoy Monday all
It took all my manly strength to make it through today at work. I think I'm still in vacation mode.
Zoom Zoom Nova is starting today for the Yanks.
I think things are ironed out for our camping trip. Half of us are going to Penn Yan and the other half are going to either Keuka or Cayuga Lake.
You have no idea how funny what jff just said is. Just suffice to say that a certain birthday boys parents took a "trial" run to see where we are camping and went to the wrong place. Now that beats my handicapped accessible, smoking room reservation hands down!
love the name zoom zoom nova!
Happy Thursday dance being performed at my desk.
I understand nephew went to bisons game last night, how was it?
Mom is doing better, but she needs her garbage emptied, anyone up for that?
We are almost done with our camping plans, should be a fun weekend, looking forward to it!
We are also planning a trip to Hotlanta for Ms Caroline's FIRST birthday! so stay tuned for that
Enjoy the day and all that it brings
We had an unfortunate occurance happen.
I was opening up the camper to double check to see if we had sheets and as soon as I unclipped the camper a burnt wire smell flew right into my nose, "uh oh", I opened the camper up completely and I have three holes in my canvas caused by an electrical fire. I was charging the battery last night and water must have seeped in somewhere and caused the damage. What a sickening feeling to see huge burnt holes right in front of you. Thank goodness my family came to my rescue and gave me my birthday presents early. With the help of duct tape and a loving family I shall overcome this, but what a bummer.
Newphew, thank goodness no one was hurt! I am sure your father will fix your camper, he can fashion patches out of cotton balls and vaseline no doubt!
Its a good thing, battery charger was on my list of what to bring!
count down to penn yan....
Happy Birthday nephew!
Hope you have a great day and a great weekend in Penn Yan!
I think all our major celebrations should be held in Penn Yan, so say all?
See you this afternoon!
I tried to called the Penn Yan Chamber of Tourism to confirm our reservations and they have no idea who we are and asked me to stop calling them.
Happy Birthday Jff!
So happy it is Friday! I made it through the work week and thats all anyone can ask of me after being off for a week and a half.
Happy b-day nphw. Now that the fire is out, it sounds as if you are well on your way to a happy 44th. Wow, that is a BIG number. Looks like a nice day weatherwise. I am scheduled to play my annual round at the EA Country Club and since that course always finds a way to beat me up, it will probably wind up ruining my day. Last weekend of the summer. Make the most of it. And yes, gg's garbage was taken out yesterday
Thank you for the Happy Birthday's.
We had a nice time in Cayuga Lake SP. Hard to beliueve after the initial confusion we all showed up at the same place. We definitely will have to have the next Holtzapalooza on site 220.
How did golfing go Unckie?
I was hoping for a camping blog, but I guess its still early and everyone is still recovering? Checked on Gram on Sunday and things almost boiled over when there was some confusion between i-caps and eye drops! They are different people!
Glad to hear that all the campers are accounted for and well. Golf at EACC went about the best it ever has, at least for me. A few more hours and Auntie is on her way to Boston for a bit of Oliver and Audrey duty. Me, I will have to find some way to keep myself amused and out of trouble. We have ourselves some late August heat. And I do believe that 2011 is the "year of the 5", so we can't start planning too early.
We will definately work on the camping blog this evening. Listed below will be the high lights, as you know I will have to put the "teaser" out there for interest:
1. A night spent next to the prison
2. Proper way to set up camp
3. 4AM alarm, was it a prison break
4. 2 cents is all I ever get!
5. Really, I am not invited?
film at 11
Other hi-lites include:
1. when and on what to put mustard on
2. are poles really needed to put up a tent
3. how many things can we forget
4. did they really just call him safe
5. dry runs: are they really necessary
I thought of you all camping this past week and hoped that things went well. Sounds like there are stories to be told -- can't wait to hear them!
We took a short overnight to Chattanooga for a ball game, Ben and Jerry's, and Rock City. Rock City was an awesome goofy tourist trap where I darn near had a panic attack from squeezing through a very narrow path betwen two tall rocks holding a squirming baby. I kinda freaked out, let's be honest. Who knew I was claustrophobic? Time to take spleunking off my bucket list.
KDH=== your mother told you to avoid the big rocks.
Gary and I booked our Caribbean vacation last night. We are going to St. Lucia in 159 days! Is it bad that I want winter to come quicker now?
Please don't wish snow and winter to come early. I have some work I need to get down.
Good news on the fire in my camper. The only damage was the three holes in the canvas. Everything else is fine. Yeah!
Sorry KDH, I understand, I'm not a big fan of tight spaces either. It's usually my hips getting stuck... I've been told that I have breeders hips.
I had given alot of consideration to calling off and staying home and watching the USA vs Tunisia game, but cooler heads prevailed!
MEA CULPA for not having the camping blog done, its still in the production stage. at least that excuse works with my boss!
Looking forward to a weekend of doing nothin! Claustrophobic??? thats horrible, KDH, does that include dressing rooms, lavatories and phone booths? If so, thats crippling, I tell ya crippling.
So will the bils pursue matt leinart? yea, me neither
last bison game of the season tonight, now that is sad very sad. enjoy 09/02 all

Friday, I really should have taken today off! Oh well I am here, so I will make the best of it.
We did attempt to do the camping blog last night, but got distracted.
Hope we all can avoid Earl, no not Earl Cairns, Earl the hurricane.
Enjoy the day
We finished off our Llama league's 22nd annual football draft last night. I think I have a decent team, we'll see. This was Zach's first year drafting with Sandra. He did a really good job. I hope his team does well.
WingFest today and tomorrow. I'll be there today with sauce running down my chin... stay thirsty my friends.
Man! It was freezing outside today.
Okay, where's the new camoing blob? I'd like to post picytures of my toes painted but I've been holding off.
That was supposed to be "camping" and "pictures"... good lordie my fingers are fat.
Enjoying the day today. I did a little work and now I'm just chilling.
I can assure everyone that the camping blog is in the works and waiting approval to publish with the chief editor. Yeah in other words, were working on it. :) It will be up soon.
I hope everyone enjoyed LABOR DAY. I worked!
