Thats awesome! Seriously where are the wedding pictures? And all our expressions of congratulations! Vaporized I tell ya!
I was really scared for a while. Thank God things are back to normal. Me, I blame Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld. I guess it is all a matter of perspective.
I personally blame Hubert Heratio Humphrey and George McGovern! of and any one named Kennedy! Lovely weather, who is preparing the timbers for the Ark?? Adm, please advise, birthday gift ideas for the quests of honor in 2 weeks??? and sizes please Do not want to get Oliver a NY Yankee jersey that is too big! I am thinking Jeter's #2? So say all?
I am a week ahead of everybody else. Here I am stressing out about the big party on saturday and how I have to mow the lawn. Silly me. Gift ideas- Of course gifts are not necesary, your presence is enough presents for us. But if you are looking for a little something, Audrey is in 12-18 months for summer clothing and 18-24 months for fall and winter clothing. Oliver is in a size 5T (can you believe it?) we are also looking for little outdoor, active toys for the summer months. Oliver is big into superheros, curious george, and the buffalo sabres. Audrey is into talking on the phone and putting stuff in her mouth.
jenna~what can I bring on Sat.? I mean besides Unkie..
We have a little roof repair to do on Sat. or maybe a big roof repair-depends on how things go once Unkie gets up there-but we will most certainly be there.
Please bring yourself and Unkie. Thank you so much for asking. Were going to have a great time! Austin is very excited.
I talked to the birthday boy this morning and asked him if I could bring in cupcakes for his classmates. His reply, " Jenna I am 16; dont embarass me." How did he grow up so fast?
I say you call Irwin to fix your roof, or Steve, or Jff what was his name again?
Oddly enough I needed my umbrella this AM walking up ellicott to BGH! I know I know me too! Excited for our Birthday BBQ on Saturday! I unfortunately will be late, as our dept is moving at BGH, but will get there as soon as I can! Just want to thank everyone ahead of time for making Austin's birthday fantabulous! Have a great day all!
My employer is getting twice the productivity out of me today, so I can clear my schedule for Saturday! I hope it is appreciated! K do you recognize your staff that work at warp speed? Am dragging a little after the 15 innning Yankee game! But that was worth the wait! Unkie, it is not raining this AM, so there fore your roof is not leaking. Isnt it funny you only need a roof when it rains? enjoy the day
I opened up the PUP last night and removed Martinsville's linen and washed them (then the heavy rains came). Tonight I have to make sure everything is in there that we'll need for the Memorial Day weekend party (like the coffee maker).
The PUP is all close up again after making sure the coffee maker is in there and clean. We're good to go for Memorial Day weekend celebration. Can't wait. BUT FIRST... Zach and I are off the Washington DC, my first trip. NOW that is going to be fun. You now how I love to explore.
Happy Friday! Looking forward to celebrating a sweet 16 birthday with our young man! Jff enjoy DC! I love love love that city! Very excited for our Memorial day weekend! Family, what are we doing friday nite? Jeff, do you want to come to the hotel and the kids could swim? We could order some pizza? Or do you want to do the campsite, and we could bring stuff to grill? Let me know
jff have a great time in DC. I'll email you my cell phone -- text if you have any questions or need anything. I've still got "some" connections in that fair city!
KDH, thanks... we're on a tour and have an itinerary in place starting at 7AM and ending at 8PM... sheesh! I'll take your cell number with me though just in case.
Friday night??? Anon, you know I love plans! I'll have to get back to you on Saturday.
starting out to look like one of the nicest Saturdays in awhile, aside from the world ending and everything! Enjoy this day and all that it brings remember awesome austins party at 1PM!
Beautiful day today. Happy Birthday Austin! Thanks for including us in your festivities. And a big thank you to Uncle Geo for manning the grill. The burgers and hot dogs were great. And thank you for allowing Sandra a special order.
Well it's past 6pm local time and it seems as if everything is still here. Hard to believe that 87 year old guy could have had it wrong. In any event, I am glad since it would have ruined an otherwise great day and celebration. Good food, good fun and a fine young man to share it with. Way to go Austin, and nice party nc jnn!
Thank Goodness Monday AM has arrived! Thanks to everyone for making Austin's BD Party a roaring success! It was most appreciated! Hope the trip to DC is uneventful nephew! Glad the world did not end, that was a relief now wasnt it! Hoping this week goes by as fast as the weekend did! enjoy Monday, is that possible?
With Nephew on the road, I am going to work extra hard at keeping the blog on the cutting edge with topics that are comment inspiring! So lets see, its Tuesday.. mmm what rhymes with Tuesday? Tuesday, its a bluesday as we work towards the weekend, yea the weekend. Enjoy the day
Big shoes to fill with no nphw jff to comment so I too will do my best to fill some space. Decided to show the movie High Noon to my AP history class. They of course don't like it because it is black and white, and particularly don't like it since they will have to do a paper on it as an allegory to the Cold War/ McCarthyism era. They weren't impressed when I told them that it is the favorite movie of Eisenhower, Bill Clinton and Tony Soprano and the least favorite movie of John Wayne. OK, I will be quiet now and go home and work on my lawn. Hurry back Jff
Leave it to Unky to provide us with something to chew on! Maybe the hard sell of this movie should have evolved around Grace Kelly only being 23, and Gary Cooper being 51? Or the fact that she was a Princess, that should appeal to a larger audience. B&W movies are fabulous, thanks for trying to educate the masses!
Morning family. I'll do my part to keep the blog-banter going. Looking forward to the big party in Quincy this weekend -- can't wait. When does everyone leave?
And is it safe to assume that the weather will be different than down here in Atlanta, where its been 95 the past three days?
Why do random people on the street keep stopping me to say "oh you must be just about ready to HAVE that baby, huh?" They seem surprised when I tell them I have 3 more months to go.
can't wait to see everybody this weekend! Just doing a last minute check to make sure everyone has my cell #? feel free to call with questions, comments, concerns or criticism!
The Mojave ground squirrel, found mainly in the American West, hibernates for two-thirds of every year. I thought that was an interesting piece of trivia in honor of my nephew who is not in blogging range> Weekend update: We( meaning Jnna, myself and gramma) are leaving friday AM. I have been advised that she only needs to stop for lunch! And I need to bring her snacks, chips mostly! So we will call UC and AP to let them know we have arrived safely. Adm, we will text you. Very excited for our weekend! Adm, what station is the yes network in Q? And any weather update? What are we looking at happening? Very excited to see all! Travel safe family
I love it when I see a plan taking shape right before my eyes. Did get gg to the bank for some cash and picked up her scrips, but she seemed a bit miffed when there wasn't lunch included as I had mowing to take care of. I think that she is travel ready. Looking forward to seeing everyone. travel safely. good info on the mojave hibernater. helps with tomorrow's lesson plan
Bro - I stopped yesterday to drop off a suitcase and see if my mother needed anything for our birthday weekend adventure, and the first words out of her mouth were that yes you did take her to the bank and p/u her meds, but no lunch was involved, and she was clearly annoyed! And then she proceeded to tell me that she has not seen my sister at all! Is she missing? We did have dinner together and all was then right with the world!
Got Anastasia back to her apt around 5:30PM, she was very grateful and none the worse for wear after being dragged from Bunker HIll to the Quincy Shore! What a great weekend we had! Was followed home by my sister and BIL just to be on the safe side, most appreciated! Thank you to our hosts, we had so much fun!! Hope everyone is home safe and sound! Happy Memorial Day!
Talked to mom last nite and she sounded chipper. Wanted to know about getting out for groceries and lunch. The woman is amazing. I can barely put one foot in front of the other this morning. And again my thanks to all for what you went thru to make our grandkids days as special as they were.
Hey family! So great to see you in Boston -- thanks for coming. It was a good time and I really enjoyed hearing about the different slices of New England you each explored.
Caroline slept 18 hours out of the last 24 so I think she too was a little tuckered out from her trip. Wish I could have done the same!
The ATL is expecting record highs today in the high nineties! Wish us luck!
ps -- your good thoughts got us great bday party weather in Quincy -- now please turn your thoughts to good weather in WNY on 6/18.
KD, good to hear your home safe and sound and Caroline took a "lil'" nap. There's a day of her life she'll never get back.
IF G-burg had a baseball team, what would be their team name? Or their mascot? The team would definitely have some wicked beards. The Gettysburg Hilltoppers? Mascot would be a cartoonish soldier with sweet sideburns?
I love it! And the players can wear really tall hats as their caps and batting helmets.
Emma's having her camping themed birthday party tomorrow night. So far the weather is favorable, let's hope it stays that way. We're grilling, roasting marshmellows and Sandra has a couple other camping favorites planned. Emma's really looking forward to tomorrow night.
I think I'm reading the free concert series wrong and need help. I'm seeing that Frankie Don will be at Degraf on 6/19 at 2PM. Not sure if he's singing or getting his annual check-up.
You guys need a franchise to run. You have some million dollar ideas there. Looks like quincy dodged the worst of the storms, but I am glad to not be travelling thru Springfield, Ma. tomorrow.
Good mornin', a little chilly out. Thank goodness I went around the house and closed the windows last night. Emma's camping party is tonight and the weather looks good up until tomorrow morning, so that'll be just fine.
HEY Auntie B!!! We both posted at 7:46... creep-eee.
Slow weekend for us too. Emma's Friday night/ no biggie that'll be fun. Saturday, Sandra has FACES/ that doesn't effect me; so Papa will help me lay a lil' more tile down in the front hall. And nothing on Sunday for us. Hopefully the weather will be somewhat decent.
Quiet weekend here too. auntie is scheduled to return tonite and I have graduation on sunday. Rod turns 89 this weekend so I guess that will entail something. You know, I guess it's busier than I thought. Time to go mow some more.
Kind of disheartening when its a gray saturday... Kind of disheartening that jorge posada strikes out looking... Kind of disheartening that there is an informational picket at work on Monday, and I will have to pass through 3,000 Union workers to get to my office.. Kind of disheartening that I did not buy the 20 million dollar mega ticket .... Glad to know that there is a sunny day tomorrow, another game, I have a job to go to, and other Lotteries to win.. So I quess its not so disheartening after all.. Hope Em had a fun sleep over party! Have a fabulous day!
Auntie brought back a pair of sunglasses left behind in quincy. any claimants? gotta leave for graduation in a bit. kinda puts a hole in the day. enjoy it
Are they gramma's cataract glasses? Had to cross the picket line to get into work, which was not pleasant, but do-able! Had a great sunday! Took my mother to lunch on saturday and the library, and the librarian wanted to know how we keep track of what she has listened to and I told the librarian that she puts a check mark on the cover, was that wrong? The librarian acted like she did not hear me! enjoy monday!

i'm kinda bummed about this. Did someone disapprove??
YEA Its back!
I received an email that there was a server problem with the blog. The problems should be corrected. I blame osama obama and nancy pelosi.
I was really scared for a while. Thank God things are back to normal. Me, I blame Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld. I guess it is all a matter of perspective.
Really? Really?
Rain, rain... too bad, I was enjpying the sun.
Oh, oh what's going on with the Yankees?
Good paintin' weather. Getting lots done this spring. bench Martin and let Jorge catch, that's my solution.
I personally blame Hubert Heratio Humphrey and George McGovern! of and any one named Kennedy!
Lovely weather, who is preparing the timbers for the Ark??
Adm, please advise, birthday gift ideas for the quests of honor in 2 weeks??? and sizes please
Do not want to get Oliver a NY Yankee jersey that is too big! I am thinking Jeter's #2? So say all?
I painted on Saturday too. It just seemed like the thing to do and I still have plenty of painting to go. I guess I'll do a little more today.
Hey Jenna, what's going on this Saturday for Austin? What time? Where?
What does he like? Email Sandra that info.
My computers are down today. I am hoping to get a email out today. : )

How did KDH shut me out? My offense stinks.

Oh... and Unckie and Auntie P... thank you, thank you for sharing your Ozzie and Harriet roof story. That absolutely cracked me up.
Early forecast has rain, rain, rain in Quincy Memorial Day weekend. Now there's a big surprise. What an awful spring so far.
Well it's past 6pm local time and it seems as if everything is still here. Hard to believe that 87 year old guy could have had it wrong. Picking up the rental at 8am, drive thru breakfast, pick up gram, stop for a beer, take a nap. That should put us in Quincy by Sunday.
Can't wait to see everyone! Does everyone have my number? I don't want to text and drive, but feel free to call and talk to my GPS (gram).

I took Grandma to the bank too for her trip. What the heck is that lady doing with her money? Must have lost it at a poker game.
Quiet on the blog! Just outside of Boston. So excited to see everyone.
First one back in town. Hope that eveeryone has as uneventful a trip as I did. Great time this weekend and thanks to all for everything.

We got home around 3:30 yesterday and DID have an uneventful trip back, thank goodness. I'll tell ya I slept like a baby last night.
Thanks Adm for inviting us to Audrey and Oliver's Birthday part-ies. We had a wonderful time.
RATS!!! I just found out there was a seperate cancellation stamp for the Gettysburg Cylorama... really?
A cyclorama stamp?? Sounds like a return trip in the offing. If only G-burg had a MINor league baseball team.
Hey family!

Yeah, what was up with that wind in Mass.? Wow!
Did we go through Springfield? As that drive is now a blur.
The first weekend in a long time that I do not have jam packed with plans!
Enjoy friday!

Emma's party went fine despite some 11 yr. old girl drama (not Emma); she had fun for the most part and I think all the girls did too.
I have my sunglasses but I'll ask Sandra to see if we're missing any.
