Miss you, Kristen! Can't wait to celebrate this weekend. In honor of your birthday, I am going for a pedicure and facial today.

Happy Bday Sis! Hope the waffle hut treated you well, and put a candle in your grits!

oh my goodness! I still HAVE that hat!

I love the bday pic -- thanks mom! I'm having a great birthday so far --

lots of singing on my cell phone, breakfast at the waffle house (smothered and covered, thank you!) lunch with colleagues and who knows what fun for dinner. Its been a great day -- plus I have a trip to DC and a trip to Boston to look forward to this week!

Yay for Kristen!

Good luck with your surgery Jll -- I'll be sending good vibes.

Happy B-Day K! and Jillie, let us make this the final surgery in what has been an all too active medical experience. Maybe you should be looking to med school, given all of your first hand knowledge. Auntie P. claims that I should be taking her out to dinner tonite in commemoration of what she endured---breach baby--34 yrs. ago. Everytime I look at my left pinkie finger I am reminded. How about them Sabres? Did Auntie B. provide accurate info to all last nite?? The birthday girl called just as the Sabres were weathering the final little bit of 6 on 4 after the delay of game penalty. I did stay up for all of it so I can't be taken to the woodshed by my son.

Happy Birthday KD!!! Have an awesome day!!!

I wish the game was on TV down in Fla, but it sounded like a great game. Barry Melrose said it was his favorite game to watch this playoff season so far.

We're back safe and sound. Yankees/BloSox tonight. I thhink I'll have a return home beer.

Happy Birthday Cousin K!!! Remind me that the next time your in town we can meet up for drinks. At least one will be on me.

My sissy is home from surgery and I am on the 7pm- midnight shift. I have to go.

Cousin Jeff and Mom. I had an interview today with someone who kept calling the Yanks the SPANKS. When he said that, I put his application in the Rejected file. He has no hopes of flipping burgers.

I hung my Sabres flag proudly from my car window upon arrival. Immediately Mr. "Fixit"" said, I just jinxed us.

Charles Adam Holtz said...

go sabes, go! go sabes, go!

bit of news for the fam... just to let you know, I will be a full time, paid teacher at quincy high school next fall. Unless Jll gets that job with continental and puts a good word in for me. I've always loved flying, and think I would make a great steward!

JT Rice said...

Hey Congrats Adm, that's awesome news. Congratulations and good luck. Enjoy your last summer off... what am I saying? You're a teacher now.

Okay, you may have to wait a bit for a Disney World blog, our digital camera is frozen, Sandra left some hardware back in the cabin, but I did save a bundle on my insurance.

We had an incredible time inn Disney. The weather was beautiful and the kids had a great time and were very well behaved (that's important for a family vacation). Me and Mr. "Fixit" only disagreed with each other a few times (could've been worse if Rck was there) and Mom only puked a few times. Not bad for a Rice gathering.
Emma wants to go back tomorrow.

Glad to see that the Rice's are back in town and everyone was able to get a good night's sleep last nite; no need to stay up late and watch baseball. We need brief updates---picture of jll's knee, ala her cousin; still waiting on an Atlanta blog; what about the "Disney visit" entry?? Heading in to see Mom today. Seems that she has a full list of things to do. Will report back later. Everyone heading downtown for the pregame party tonite???

You jumped me on that one jff. you were entering as I was composing. My sister got into the wine an cheese again?

Charles Adam Holtz said...

dear family:

please note how, while I posted at 9:17pm last night, there was not one word about baseball in the post. I, personally, was observing a holiday truce in honor of my sainted sister. And now, I choose to remain quiet, to let my team's bats speak for me.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

JT Rice said...

I'll let that go.

Yeah Grady!!!

What a glorious day, I'm off to spray the front lawn, later I'm diggin' in the back and laying down 16" blocks (that'll look nice), hopefully I can complete the day with edging the lawn. All this with my cast and new walking cane. Yes, I'm walking after a week (Doc said it would be at least two).

I hope you feel okay today Thrllie, can we stop by a bring you some magazines and fun things to do? Spend it outside in the sun, I am. I sure would like to go golfing today. Well, August is just around the corner.

GO SABRES!!!
Pre-Sabres party at Unckie C's??? Sweet!

Charles Adam Holtz said...

can I go on record as saying. oh crap! I'm afraid of a jinx. never mind. back to your normal programming. and antie b, 14-3. who's laughing now???

Jenna Koch said...

I too am home with the patient. I accidently tickled her feet and now I have been demoted to just answering her phone. Silly Jenna.

Cousin Jeff and Family. Your more than welcome to stop over and visit. My mom said if you could bring the hedgecutter that would be great. Also, pics of Disney!

I am really glad that all of YOU PEOPLE had a really pleasant day relaxing and firing offensive blog comments towards each other. I spent the day from ten thirty to two doing the library, dollar store, lunch, bank, topps, carrying groceries gig. A few more check marks at Squires which will eventually lead to a free lunch for someone. Hey Dave, there has to be a sports bar somewhere in Ybor City that will be carrying the Sabres game. I am not sure if I can bring myself to watch. The "fever" around WNY is "INTENSE". Colin Cowherd on ESPN this morning says that A-rod needs therapy. Anyone else hear that?? George yelled at everybody so the Yanks will win tonite. I will trade that for a sabres victory and the annihilation of some of the "others" on LOST.

GO! GO! BLUE AND GOLD!. or black and red and white, with some silver. Ah, how I miss the old days. makes me pine for andreychuck, hawerchuck, malarchuck and all the other chucks, not to mention my all time favorite, larry playfair. where is larry playfair these days?

Charles Adam Holtz said...

so, who was your favorite early 80s sabre?

Anonymous said...

Hey Adam!! Knock off the "chuck" conversations!! That is really close to squirrels and we DON'T need to get Jff started again!

Anonymous said...

Happy birthday K!

Congrats Adam!

Sorry about the beer Dvd...all they had to buy at our campsite was Bud Light! Ugh!

Yes...mom puked after Space Mountain...I don't think that my comment that the ride only goes 21mph helped...However, Emma LOVED it and thought it rocked! Her comment, " Yeah Baby!" Who taught her that?

Anonymous said...

AuntieB...I myself questioned the "no cell phone" thing...I had mine...quess they could have used the room phone to call mine but...

Oh...did mom mention the day Jff's scooter died in 94 degree weather! Yeah...and the fact that he wouldn't let his dad push him because it was too girlie!...yeah so like I got the job (and no gift I might mention)...I ate 4 desserts that night 'cause there was serious water weight loss and no concern about weight gainage!

We had a great time!! Tried lots of new rides/shows...

Might be able to show pics if Disney sent my digital card that I left in the cabin, otherwise we are SOL...

JT Rice said...

All I wanted the whole week was funnel cake, so I didn't get my wish/gift either, so lighten up Francis.

I love hearing stories about border control in the Miami area Dvid, keep us updated while under orange alert. They're always trying to gain entrance by keeping our border patrol well fed.

JT Rice said...

There's nothin' like winnning in OVERTIME LOVIN'!!! Hopefully Sandra gives me a few minutes.

Charles Adam Holtz said...

wow. again, wow.

The bastards are conspiring against me -- no Sabres in HOT or DC -- how can I even stand it with all the hints that it was good good good!

I had a great birthday everyone! I will consider doing a HOTlanta blog if ya'll want -- but I don't want to bump the disney pics ...

I was always a "King Kong" Korab fan, although he turned pacifist after coming to Buffalo. Some game last nite. It was exhausting!! Even Auntie P. looked up from her knitting occasionally. But she kept asking things like: how many times do they play each other? Can you imagine paying all of that money to sit down in the bowl and being behind the moron in the yellow shirt who never sat down, or apparently, never stopped banging on the glass the entire game? Maybe the family needs to chip in and geta " hoveround" that would be available for whoever needs it==jff. I can see why Mom fell asleep--I know that I was whipped. How is the patient coming? We need a pic.

JT Rice said...

Glad to hear you had a nice birthday Kristen and sorry to hear that Hot and DC don't carry MSG or CTV networks. You need to find a bar that has the OLN (Outdoor Life Network), they're carrying the playoff games.
No MSG tonight (no Rick Jenerette), so we get to listen to our neighbors from the north babble about how great Ottawa is and how they deserve a better fate. GO SABRES!!!

My last vacation day today, back to work tomorrow and full days next week. The cast comes off May 31st.

Kristen, blog away, we're waiting for our camera chip to to arrive via snail mail. Sandra left it in the cabin (with her battery charger and cell phone charger) at Fort Wilderness. Pics and story to follow.

I liked Korab, but I was a Schoeny fan and believe it or not really liked Lee Fogolin.
Who can forget the Schoeny - O'Reilly fights? Classics.

How about them Sabres??? I tried getting tickets to yesterday's game, but was unsuccessful.

WE NEED A NEW BLOG! Who is up for one?

I can talk about the construction taking place at the TIKI HUT
