October 13 !!!!!?????

Compare and contrast, please -- Buffalo on October 13th, and Atlanta on October 13th. There's room down here for all of you! I will expect great stories of the travails of this snowstorm once you guys have your power back!

I tried telling my mom not to go to the store, but she just wouldn't listen to me!

Until Luther Manor has their power back up, Gram will be staying with us. Last night while we were all playing "I spy", I decided to go to Tops before they closed to grab the necessary items to get through the weekend (gummi bears and beer). She looked at me and goes, "Since your out, I need scratch offs."

I can assure you when our Time Warner cable is back up, there will be a blog!

Breaking News: Mr. Fix it is # 40 out of 88 to receive a generator that will pull into Home Depot in Niagara Falls by 3 pm today.

FYI, Gram is still sleeping.

Vegas baby, vegas!

Mom and dad have power but no cable. I guess things are getting dicey -- dad is roaming the street looking for the cable truck!

I'm here.

We're over at Bill and Cathi's on Grand Island. We're with out power and the house is at a balmy 48 degrees. When we're back online (probably a week from now) Sandra has awesome pics for a new blog. I'm concerned about Fargo. How's Fargo holding up?

Finally got a shower!! Yeah!! Yeah for Grand Island and power. We are NOT home...this is NOT good...pretty sure we will come home to dead fish in the tank...Emma will cry...
Trying to find something open "up north" to get all the kids out...FIELD TRIP for the stir crazy moms!
They just flashed a "warning" across the TV here--might not have power for a week & snow advisory for the southerntier...

Our cable has been restored! Unkie doesn't know this yet as he is still out looking for for the cable guy to tell him to get his butt in gear.Won't he be surprised when he gets home? I sorta hope he doesn't find cable guy and yell and scream at him. Could get ugly...

Okay, so I recall KDH offering her "crib" up for us to visit. KDH, Gram is at the Buffalo airport awaiting the next direct flight to Hotlanta.

As soon as my cable is up and running, there will be a new blog. The only station we get is CH. 4, luckily the rodeo is on for three straight hours. I put a bet on Ryan Jarrett he has a 3-1 odd of winning.

I scoured the hinterlands for 3 hours looking for a Time Warner truck with no success to come home and find that we were back on line. All is right with the world, at least south of the 400. Sorry to hear that the Rice's are on G.I. and looking for diversions. The good news is that we did not coordinate Holtzapalooza with Columbus Day. Why does anyone continue to live in WNy? Two nights of channels 2,4 and 7 have convinced me that cable is the best buy out there. We are all enthralled by the saga of Mr. fixit and the generator. What will happen next? Why wasn't his son and daughter in law availabale to help in the bailing?? Has Mom expressed any interest in what might be happening to the rest of the inmates at Luther Manor as she sits knee deep in scratch off droppings and looking forward to her next meal out? God luv ya Bets.

The blog is BACK, baby -- good stuff! WNYers just need a good crisis to bring out the multiple times per day blogging activity. And in this case, its some serious snow!

Are things getting better with the weather at least?

Just to provide a few key updates:

1. We went to dinner at Bob Evans less than a mile away from the Home Depot that is awaiting a truckload of generators. As of 6:30 pm the truck travelling from Conn. has not arrived. They are "hoping" to have the delivery by 8pm.

2. The lights are back on at Luther Manor, gram has checked out of Hotel Koch.

Unkie, at least you have 2,4, and 7. All we have here is Ch. 4.

In our search for a Time Warner Cable truck we discovered 3 national fuel trucks, 1 national grid truck, budget rent a car, and a white cab car driven by a look alike of my brother.

Our cable has been off for 24 hours. I expect my bill to be adjusted.

Sunday and hopefully one day closer to everyone returning to normal. Seems like it is jff, barb and joe and linda who are still w/o power. Has the truck from CT arrived yet? Does Mr. Fixit have a generator and thus can laff at the next power outage? Did Thrillie head to Vegas? Why no sounds of sympathy from Fargo? Me, I am heading to watch the Bills. Will the Sabres lose any this year? The problem is that they can go undefeated in the regular season and go out in round one to a hot #8 team. Now that would really fit in well with the all time worst Buffalo moments.
