Winter Sledding
streaming video by JT Pilaf
We went sledding last Saturday and Sunday at Beaver Island and even though it felt like it was only 1 degree outside (minus 10 degrees windchill) Zach, Emma, and yours truly enjoyed ourselves for at least 15 minutes.
Ah yes, the great joys of outdoor winter sports. Glad that everyone enjoyed the experience. Me, I will stick to the indoor variety of winter activities mostly including chips and dip. Any truth to the rumor that Clint Small turned down an interview offer from the Bills?
Nothing better than an afternoon of sledding, so I have been told! So the colts let the jets win and now have to come back and play them, and the bills beat both of them so what does that say, no really what does that say?? enjoy monday
Awesome sledding video, Jff -- I felt like I was there, but not as cold.
The cold snap finally broke here in the ATL (thank goodness) and we were able to get out to the playground yesterday for some fresh air. CJ seems to love the baby swings!
Does that mean that my granddaughter will be spending the day today at all of the MLK celebrations in Atlanta? I know that it is a federal holiday and there are a lot of mandatory activities down south, but please leave some time for the swings at the playground. How did the trip to rochester go yesterday? Did you stop at dinosaur's for ribs? I had to settle for Applebee's ribs; just doing my small part to celebrate the holiday
LOL, brother.. We did want to go to Dinosauer, but we had Anastasia with us, and we thought with the walk and the steps, it might be a bit much for her, so we settled for Bob Evans, her eternal favorite, as she can pretty much design what she eats there, and there is no lag time on refills!
With all of the references to the winter olympics I figured that I had better go back 4 years to see if we have evolved at all. Jan./Feb. 2006 saw the olympics discussion there, but also had a wide range of blogs from the education of Jimmy, to gg celebrating her 89th, to Holtzapalooza '06 planning. Ah, the nostalgia.
recap after the holiday. House hunting has heated up for the everetts... Mrs Fixxitt and I will be attending the flower show in Philadelphia.. The bills are closer to a no name head coach.. and lets see, nothing else going on...
Ah 4 years ago. I recall Jff doing an Olympic blog. Perhaps we can have another? Chan Gailey? Not quite sure he was on my short list, but to the Bills he is the one to get us to the playoffs!
Jim Harbaugh, Bill Cowher, Brian Schottenheimer, Russ Grimm, Leslie Frazier. What do these guys have in common??? They all turned down the Bills request to be the next head coach!
Hey Chan welcome to the Holtz Family Blog. Here at the Holtz Family Blog we treat everyone as an equal... even Jimmy). So feel free, to laugh, cry, and share all your emotions with us.
Welcome to WNY Chad! Just win.. So the Bills have a new head coach and Massachusettes could have a Republican in the Senate. Lots of newsworthy stuff! Great new pix of Caroline Jeanne!
Morning family -- all of atlanta (at least our small corner of it) has been laid to waste by a particularly insidious batch of germs. Thankfully, CJ has avoided it so far -- I hold my breath while I feed her. Nobody judge me if I take as many naps today as an almost four month old.
Stay germ free KDH and CJ! If GG was there she would have her trigger finger on the Lysol can and spraying everything! Naps are good, I personally love them! Sometimes I take them before I go to bed!
The Krakaus ham has been purchased, the thermostat in the freezer turned down, GG now has cash for her next chicken wing order and all is right with the Bryant street world. It's friday, the weekend has begun, my plane leaves tomorrow AM for raleigh, nc and golf and I am gaining confidence by the minute in the Bills org. and new coach Lon Chaney. The sun was out today, there is only a week or so left in Jan. so at least for now, life is good. Enjoy the weekend all.
We hearty WNY'ers enjoyed a full day of January sunshine! Now that was a treat. I have shovelded 3 X's in January, I thnk that was an all time low! Golf good brother, now that Tiger is sidelined maybe you could join the tour??
We did nothing yesterday. Absolutely nothing... what a nice day. Today, we're taking Jeter over to Sandra's parents after church to get to know his future babysitters a little bit better. Maybe we can get a lunch out of it?
Back from an all too short trip to south of the mason dixon line. Did play a real nice course yesterday, in shirt sleeves, made all of my plane connections and am ready for some football. A little "bundle of joy" comes to Pickford? So many blessed events, it's hard to keep track. Everything good but the name.
UGH, its monday already?? Hope everyone had a great weekend? good games yesterday, other than that not to much else going on. anyone have any ideas for the big 93 that is coming up??? stay dry!
Re: the big 93. Just a thought, but we might want to consider having something in the community room, maybe catered by that place in NT that was on diners, driveins, etc. That way we could bring our own drinks, invite her buds in the home, along with whatever family members are around (Pat, etc), it wouldn't cost as much as a restaurant and everybody would still be free to take her out for a separate celebration if they wanted to. That way we could start saving up for the 95. Other ideas??
happy tuesday, in our world its garbage day. Hope Mr Fixxitt had a great birthday! Stopped by to wish him salutations, and he was out and about celebrating the big day with number one son and family! So hope he had a great birthday! rumor has it a new blog will be posted this friday evening with a new announcement, mmm what could that be??? be careful out there its slippery!
I bet gram has access to the blog and she is going to post an announcement that her chips are buy one get one free at Tops this week! That is breaking news!
That is too funny! Yes, I am sure that is what it is.. So winter has returned ugh ugh ugh but only a few more days of january left and then on to Feb! The longest month in the year, thank goodness it is a month long celebration or I would never get through. have an amazing Wed!
Anyone else have to have their hands pried off the steering wheel when they got to work this morning? The only good thing is that I get to drive from the truly awful 400 to the somewhat less awful 90 and 290. You have my sympathies nc jnn driving from not too horrible to the really awful. Another week and Groundhog day will be behind us.
I am pretty sure that anyone who was driving behind me thourghly enjoyed the fact that I could not get any traction and any turn, literally spun my car around. Note to self, need better rear tires! It was a white knuckle drive!
I think that I am losing all circulation in my hands. I guess that I never truly appreciated the drive that I used to have to work of generally 4 minutes and 5 minutes on a really bad day.
I couldn't agree with you more Unckie... going from a 4 minute ride to a 15 minute ride has my panties in a bunch too. Oh wait, I'm probably not going to get any sympathy with that, am I? Well, it's still a longer drive.
Sorry nphw, not a lot of sympathy from this end. Maybe nc jnn will be more sensitive to your suffering, but then, maybe not. After a delay last nite Auntie made it to Quincy and some time with the Big O. Wish that I was there too, but someone has to hold my place in traffic on the 290. Enjoy the day, brrrrr!
TGIF! It certainly has been long in coming! Maybe while AP is in Quincy she can post a new Oliver blog! Love love love the CJ blog's. She literally changes before your eyes! enjoy the day all, get where you need to be safe and sound, because remember a new blog is promised for today!

I heard that Clint Small declined to interview too... what is going on?
You can't beat the BBQ at the Dinosaur Bar, my personal Rochester favorite (haven't been to the one in Syracuse).
Chips and dip is an Olympic Sport???
chips and dip while on the luge. not quite to the level of the biatholon, but still challenging.

I will lead the Buffalo Bills to a playoff season. Hopefully the fans will grow to love me.

Have a good time golfing Unckie. Hopefully the weather cooperates and it's just sun and fun.
Jeter, the Lab/collie mix, is fitting in nicely at the Rice household.
Stay healthy KDH and CJ.
How's the Holtz' in Quincy?
Are the Bils playing today?
We did nothing yesterday. Absolutely nothing... what a nice day. Today, we're taking Jeter over to Sandra's parents after church to get to know his future babysitters a little bit better. Maybe we can get a lunch out of it?

Austin is one happy camper as his beloved colts have advanced. I am hoping Favre gets one more win under his belt.

Oh yeah, Sandra and I already buying up shares in future pork to pay for GG's 95th.
Not a fan of the NFL's OT and yesterday's game put the icing on the cake for me.
Congrat's Jll!!! I know how mmuch you enjoy the fanfare so that's all I'll say.

After 1 hr and 28 minutes I arrived safe and sound to work. I knew I was in trouble when it took me over 45 minutes to get to the Galleria Mall.
I think that I am losing all circulation in my hands. I guess that I never truly appreciated the drive that I used to have to work of generally 4 minutes and 5 minutes on a really bad day.
