This is one of the 2 planes on exhibit not to mention the barn full of classic cars. You'd have loved them, Uncle Gar.
Despite all the glitz and overkill it was somehow touching and emotion. Maybe that was just for me, the motorcycle momma. Remind me to show you my pink magnifying mirror compact with the Kings likeness on it. A girl needs her souvenirs.
We spent as many nights on Beale St as we possibly could. The music was amazing and the ribs. well they are another whole blog. We encountered Ms Zena and she was such a friendly person. She even posed for this picture and it only cost us $15(ask us to see the original with a bonafide SWAK).She makes Auntie look a bit washed out. MS Zena did have cosmetics that could have fixed that but they were pricey and looked, umm, a bit used.
Last but not least, the famous Peabody Hotel ducks complete with the "Duck Master." Apparently being a duck master is a very prestigious job , or so we were told , by the duck master, of course. They were cute and Auntie enjoyed her front row seat while Unkie headed for the nearest bar muttering under his breath, "I ain't watching no darn ducks, when there is beer and music to be had."
In closing, we had a unique and wonderful trip and are amazed that we survived another 10 days and 1500 miles together in a compact car with no cruise control. Unkie does try to do his thing for the enviroment. Auntie just dreams of her next bike ride.

Try making sense out of that. Haven't the foggiest idea how the first half got published before we finished.
Ok Ms Zena was a little scary. You did'nt invite her to Thanksgving did you? So Elvis had 2 planes?
It looks like you guys had the trip of a lifetime and baseball games to boot!
Whats next on the agenda?
Get your snow brush out, ole man winter is making a u turn!
I would have thought, with everyone being snowed in during the storm of the century, that there would be tons of comments on the board. I sure hope everyone is alright!
We WNYers are a hearty lot. We are not put off by an occasional April snow. Now, tomorrow morning? We will have to wait and see.
Awesome! Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. Great pictures too. Are you sure that was MS Zena?
That was me
wait wait -- is jeff saying HE was ms Zena? i get confused.
I was witness to my mom's first motorcycle ride and it was a sight to behold. She started out holding on to Eric gingerly and when the bike revved, she clutched on for dear life. His shirt was wrinkled and a bit damp from her fervent grip.
So I spread the rumor that my family got 10 inches of snow last night. Everyone in ATlanta was appropriately sympathetic -- except we're cold here too, with highs in the low sixties. So ya'll didn't get as much traction as you would have if it had been 80.
Glad you didn't get walloped too badly. ...
Very cold rain, that's all... but somehow I'm getting the feeling that it's never going to be warm again.
Happy to be back in my office!
As yesterday was the last day of physician training! The best part of being in the physician lounge is the cookies that are delivered every day at 1 PM!
At least the sun is out today, and possibly a 50 degree day! Glad to hear everyone survived the April blizzard!
Enjoy Wed all!
Howdy... What a frustrating day today. I'm glad to be home and also glad to have plans to go out and have a drink. Stretchers!!! Can you believe I just errrrr and autocorrect changed it to"stretchers"?
Zach and I are off to Penn St this morning
UGH what a work week, got stuck coming home last night in bumper to bumper traffic from stupid fenderbender on the Niagara section of the thruway! And of course its in the lane I am in, and I have to move over, and I am trying to get infront of the only driver in this hour long standstill who is a heathen! He would not let me in! Some people just bring out the worst in me!
And walking into work this AM, it was snowing!
Enjoy the trip to Penn State!
Hope Amy and Zach had wonderful birthdays yesterday!
More than a bit frosty this morning. Hope that the Pilafs are enjoying their trip to central PA. I don't think that the State college spikes are playing yet. Is nphw zch scouting colleges already? I thought that he would follow in his father's footsteps and go to Ariz. St. Enjoy the weekend. I was thinking about the Bisons game but I was watching the crowd last night and when a foul ball is hit and no one can even be bothered to uncover and go after it, it sends a pretty strong message.
Penn State was awesome! What a beautiful college. We went to go see an Avett Brothers concert and catch the Penn State/ Ohio State baseball game, the Spikes share Medlar Field with the Nittany Lions. F F F freezing.
Thought about the Bisons game today also, but still a bit too chilly for me! Opting for the Rochester game Tuesday.. Could we see Andy Pettite?????
Maybe ...
Enjoy day one of the weekend!
As nice as March was, April was not. Come on May! I refuse to get excited over the Bills draft, but I was happy that no one named Leodis was on their pick sheet. K had company in Atlanta, Adam was in a wedding in Portland, but my weekend so far has been most exciting,I am sure, of all spent watching birds at war with our windows. I keep telling myself not to "jump" when it happens, but...
Happy anniversary (yesterday) to my parents. In honor of may 1st, I will YouTube The may day goal! - jenna
Ugh.... That's it
Happy Wed! Had a very nice day yesterday a post anniversary celebration, if you will.
Headed off to Dinosaur B-B-Q for dinner and then off to the Rochester Red Wings vs Scranton Wilkes Barr game! Lots of fun, made even more enjoyable was that it was St John Fisher Night, so the stadium was filled with drunk college seniors, now nothing is more fun than that!
Other than that, May has been nice so far? So say all?
Just to show that there are no hard feelings over my being beat up so badly in HFFB first by the Commissioner and now by Bronx Bomber Betsy, I am still glad that they had a fine anniversary celebration and they certainly picked a good way of doing it. Ribs and baseball says it all. Speaking of HFFB, it certainly is strange seeing the Buttermakers and OhmygodBrewers looking up at the rest of the league as opposed to where they usually are at this time. Well, the season is still young and as I figured early on, one way or the other, my Josh Hamilton wouldn't be playing come May 1. Still trying to figure out the last 2 comments from nphw jff. Is he deliberately trying to be enigmatic or did I miss something? Enjoy the day. I plan to.
I can not believe how bad both of my fantasy teams are... I'm in Bizzaro World.
So glad you had fun in Rochacha... I love the Dino Bar.
comment was made by the commish that apparently, the respective school system's need to layer on the homework a little more, as the two leaders of HFFBB, obviously have a lot of time on their hands!
It's gorgeous outside... Wish my fantasy team was better to reflect the gorgeous day.
Happy Friday! heard my mother had a nice day yesterday, thank you brother!
It was a nice evening nephew, dogs on the grill, mmmm
Hope everyone has a fun filled weekend planned! Andy Pettite will be pitching Sunday in Roc, who is up for a road trip??
Well the work is piling up on my desk!
enjoy
Commish is absolutely correct. Get these kids busy on extra credit school work, or something. No Mo Mo??? Will not comment. Cinco de Mayo AND the Derby tomorrow. Auntie has her big fancy hat ready to go. Me, I'm not much for the juleps but..
Sunday's game I believe is in Batavia... We have plans to go.
Smeltfest tonight!
Yeah weekend!
Yep, the game got moved to Frontier Field to accommodate Pettite. You got to love it. We're going.
Heard that Petitttitte works out before the game shagging fly balls in the outfield. That's worth a trip to Rochester. Not many chances to see guys pitch older than Jamie Moyer.
Boy, have I got a Rochacha story for everyone.
I'll leave it at that... Blob is a comin'
UGH! to Monday and all that it brings!
Had a very nice weekend! My sister stopped on saturday bearing gifts, which is always good! Some seedlings for the garden! Since the addition of the rice family green house, I have definately benefited, so thank you to my sissy and B-I-L!
Had Anastasia over for burgers on the grill yesterday, it was a most enjoyable day! And a Yankee win!
Not sure if everyone is up on HFFBB, but the commish and K had a very close match up, as did my brother and I! Seems like parity has struck out league!
does anyone even know who is still playing hockey? Yea me neither!
Could not believe the results of last week in HFFBB. 8 of 10 teams exactly even and the other a 6-5? Amazing! Makes it a lot more fun when it's this close. Glad that everyone enjoyed the weekend. Let another work week begin. Enjoy it for what it is.
At least it is not Monday! Thought for the day! Anxiously awaiting nephew's blog, as I am sure he has some awesome Andy pix! Other than that, not to much is going on.
This rain is kind of annoying!
And it is K's Birthday Eve! I remember very well the day she was born! I was babysitting in the afternoon after school at Barb and Ed's, and Mom called Barb to tell her that AP had a baby girl! I was so excited, as after our 2 boys, (jeff and rick) a baby girl was just perfect! And such a perfect baby girl she was!
Oh well, back to work!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Kristen!
Lets all of us raise our glass to toast our birthday girl!
I only have coffee, but I could run over to Sharkey's and get a draft?
Anyone been to Sharkey's? Very cool little bar on Van Renessaler, 2 blocks from Larkin Bldg. Very Very good food, good fish fry!
K- have a great day!
So my bro was wringing his hands over the durability of josh hamilton, I quess that paid off!
New AD at UB, hope its a good match!
I see Andy Pettite is pitching Sunday for the Yankees, What is everyone's thoughts on that? Adam? Anything?
Mothers Day is Sunday, so everyone remember your mother!
Back to work!
Hard to believe that my little baby girl turns the Big 4-0 today. Where has the time gone? Thank you for all of the joy you have given us. Enjoy your day!
I know where I was 40 years ago. It was more than worth it. Everyone should have such an amazing daughter.
