A typical Wednesday Night Conversation

An Evening With The Pilafs

Jeff: Where are the kids?

Sandra: Why? You are watching the Sabres game AGAIN!

J: I just want to be a responsible parent, are they okay, oh wait I hear Zach... hide.

S: You just gave your daughter to your parents at the Red Apple Drop Off Spot! My glass is empty.

J: My dad can't drive anymore, that's probably not safe. I'll get you another one.

S: I told her to sit in the middle and use all three seat belts. No ice.

J: Crap, freakin' Sabres... nobody's watching him in front. I have a lot of hair on my big toe.

S: Hello! How many times does the dog need to whack the back door? Let him out! My glass is empty.

J: Zach!!! Let the dog out!!! Hold on I'll get ya anutter one... should I shave my big toe hair.. it'll probably come in thicker though.

S: Keep your socks on...your feet are gross...almost as gross as the other Rice boys! No ice.

J: I know, I know. Sheesh. What are we doing this weekend? Man, that's a lot of hair. It's freakin' me out. Do you think I can throw my voice and make it talk?

S: Alright! Alright! Put the game back on and get this guy off the TV!

J: Mr Bean is classic comedy... whatever.

S: If that is Mr. Bean, then I am Pamela Anderson (minus the Hep3).

J: Sweet! Will you call me???

S: Not with that toe!

J: I'm just saying that's a lot of hair.

There Goes the Neighborhood!

I am going to start this blog off with a picture of a chicken because Jeff told me people seem to like chickens.

But on to the real news...Gary and I bought a house!

We had our house inspection this afternoon and everything turned out great. March 22nd is our tentative closing date. Soon enough we will be residents of the Town of Tonawanda.

We are just across the street from the golf course and driving range. And there is a heated florida room off the garage, which Good Gary quickly renamed the Man Cave (he has big plans for that room!)

More pics and posts after we move in and the updating begins.

Winter Sledding

streaming video by JT Pilaf

We went sledding last Saturday and Sunday at Beaver Island and even though it felt like it was only 1 degree outside (minus 10 degrees windchill) Zach, Emma, and yours truly enjoyed ourselves for at least 15 minutes.

A December to Remember

Just being patient and waiting for Holtz Family Christmas to begin!
Our Christmas day hostess with Ms Caroline One of Gramma's gifts was a digital frame from Kristen and Caroline Jeanne! A handmade rug for Ms Caroline! Caroline cleaned up this Christmas and deservedly so! Some pirate gifts are definately for the Ladies! Gift opening begins! Dear Santa, Please note that Adam does want Yankee apparel for Christmas! Our newest "Holtz" Ms Caroline Jeanne!

Of course the best part of our Christmas Day Celebration is the Pirate Game! Nephew Jeff opened a Bob the Builder Lego set! Not to worry, it was passed on to Mr O!

Oliver and his Big Pop reviewing the history of the T-NT Football game. I know I know, me too

My sister enjoying a glass of nog! It was the best nog ever made!

2010 will bring us a new family Mr & Mrs Gary Everett. It was a fast and furious holiday season. We were very blessed to be together, share a meal, raise our glasses, and anticipate the upcoming New Year. As always, Gramma sets the pace, with her tireless energy and her willingness to tackle each and every day, with enthusiasm and vitality. May we enjoy our lives as much as she enjoys hers! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Thanks!

As everyone is aware, we were invited back to the Eagle Ranch to help celebrate the Col's 80th birthday! It was a celebration for the ages, and we were very thankful that we could attend. Since our last trip the Col and his lovely bride Pat, have added LongHorns to their family, this is Dewy, incorrect spelling, pronounciation is the same. She would wait patiently in front of the cattle guard every AM and wait for breakfast. I have to admit I was very much afraid of her! Barney, the Ranch Watch Cat, was always very Thankful for a lap to rest on!

This trip as much as it was a celebration for Col, it was also a time to spend with family. Mom very much enjoys her time with Barb! Notice the beer bottle!

My sister was always up with the Longhorns very much willing to help, well at least watch any way!

The Col had 3 parties total, 2 at the ranch and one at a True Texas Town, complete with a saloon, and a sheriff, and all sort of fun things. My sister had her cousin Barb arrested for counting cards, that was a hoot! She was hauled off to the hoosegow, for 5bucks! Mom, Barb and Barb's husband, Chuck were thankful for the golfcart ride to the saloon where the party was being held.
Here is the Col arriving for his party! The music playing in the background was the theme to Star Wars! We were all asked to wear Western wear, and the Col very much looked the part!

The country and western band that played at the party was great! Notice Anastasia had front row seats! She says she felt it was like her own private concert.

Here is my sister, hobnobbing with the Who's who of Boerne, Texas. This is the Mayor, who oddly enough grew up on Parker Blvd in the Town of Tonawanda and graduated from Kenmore West. San Antonio Nancy, getting into the part!

After the Col of course, Nancy garnered the most attention! This little feller writes a paper for octogenarians, and he looks a bit smitten does'nt he!

The nieces pitched in and got a huge pillow for their favorite aunt! All in all it was a great trip, we are thankful for our time together, grateful for the invite, appreciative for arriving home safe and sound, and forever indebted for the memories made.

my new brother or sister

Hi everybody!

I just wanted you all to know that I'm going to have a brand new brother or sister! He or she will be here around May 20, 2010! Mommy and Daddy have a picture, but daddy can't get the scanner to work. So they just want you to know that everything is going fine!
