Hold on... let us count the ways that the Carolina Hurricanes DO NOT deserve to go to the stanley cup finals.

1- there are a total of 18,000 fans of hockey within driving distance of the arena. Only if ALL the fans decide to go at once, is there a hope of a sellout.

2- Cheerleaders? CHEERLEADERS???? for hockey?????

3- the arena is 150 miles from the ocean. no real chance of a hurricane reaching that far inland.

4- They're the freakin' hartford whalers, for god sake!

5- Rod (Rob?)Brind'amour is the ugliest man on the face of the earth.

6- never before in the history of pro hockey has a head coach made so many in-game goalie switches without it coming back to bite him in the butt. Its gotta happen eventually, right?

So, why else do the 'Canes deserve NOT to win? Post your comments here!

PS- the picture is SUPPOSED to be the hurrican warning flag with the universal "NO" symbol in the old sabres colors.. but my photo shop skills suck, I only had 2 minutes to do it, and yadayadayada.

Someone in our family must have offended him at one point; that's what we do. Great posting, although I expected a "stitches out" episode. Let's not pick on their coach Lyle Lovett and instead focus on more worthy choices. Brindamour is Gq material compared to their defenseman Mike Pompadour. At least the Harford Whalers had Gordie Howe, or is he still playing under the name Ray Whitney?

Reasons the Hurricans don't deserve to win tonight:

1. 9 out of 10 TV's will have a nascar race on. The other TV will show poker.

2. Commadore looks like Oggie Oglethoorpe with red hair.

3. I watched "Youngblood" last night.

4. There's more people from Syracuse down there than locals.

5. Brind'mour calls for a game 7 players only meeting. A game 7 players only meeting? Are you kidding me?

Nice blog. Who did it?

I will admit, it was I who authored the latest entry. I was supposed to be teaching the kids how to reassemble a tranny, but I did the blog instead. 5 minutes into my lecture, one of the kids politely told me that trannie was short for "transmission", not "transvestite". boy, was my face red!

That's my boy. All the skills---plumbing, automotive, you name it. I actually think that the sabres may do a Lindy player coach tonite. Hmmm, who is their top defense man now?? Seems like they are mostly playing the Amerks.

You answered my question Adm regarding the tranny, thank you.
Liberal schools... sheesh.

ok, so lets start thinking of some positives... Instead of watching game 1 on the stanley cup finals on monday night, I can now alphabetize my CD collection.

I'm despondent.

I had neither the time nor the heart to comment last night or this morning. Actually I might have last night except for the fact that the phone rang at 10 pm. The phone never rings at 10 pm unless there is a family crisis--well scratch that since there have been enough of those--or perhaps it was Adm calling to say that the sabres had a good season, etc. even tho there were 2 minutes left and Buffalo was on the power play, but it was Mom calling to get Kristen's address for the fourth time. I guess that she writes letters at 10 pm and planned on calling Auntie B to mail them last evening. Anyhooo, I probably could have been a bit nicer. That and today I subbed in phys ed that I thought would be easy but: 1. being outside there is no place to sit down and my dogs are killing me 2. not everyone, believe it or not, loves phys ed and particularly those of the female persuasion will do most anything to get out of doing what they are supposed to. Sounds as if miacou and thrillie were in far more interesting places to watch the game than the rest of us.

Okay, I'm back. I needed some time to myself after yesterday's game. What a season. What a season.

Okay, now it's time for a blog about dwarfs and brustle sprouts and I'm just the person to do it.

brussel??? Who would have guessed.

Zach has a baseball game today in the morning... ummmm, maybe.
He got his first hit last game. He had a smile from ear to ear. Unfortunately, 8 and 9 year olds lack the accuracy the coach does while pitching in a game so he averages about three base on balls a game.

I was up at 6:40 AM, but to blog at 6:40? Bloggin' kudos to you Auntie B.

How about a blog from Jnna about the Tiki Hut. What's today's special?

You guys are really ambitious. I was up and out to breakfast by 7am, nursing my sorelegs from yesterday and came up to find that so much is going on. I lucked out last jury duty call when they never got to my number, but it is an incredibly inefficient misuse of people's time. Try to stay dry today. Doesn't look like there will be much outdoor activity.

Zach played through the rain and lost 20-9 while being walked 3 times again and striking out once. At least he was swinging.

I promised Zach that I would take him to any restaurant if he threw it back to the pitcher's glove and not 10 feet in front of him. He did it and we went to the Texas Roadhouse after picking up Ms. Emma after indoor soccer.

Sore legs on a rainy day. I couldn't think of a nicer way to spend my inactivity.

I am so happy to see the site up and running again!!! I better get back to my blog. I have been slacking, I have to admit. But, I do check it on a daily basis.

A big thank you to Unkie C, Aunt P, Mr. and Mrs. Fix it for stopping by the Tiki Hut for dinner. Apparently Boss Katie forgot to deliver a slice of key lime pie (with whip cream) to Mr. Fix it. Needless to say there was a complaint filed. Just a FYI family; Mr. Fix it enjoys dessert before dinner.

By the way, I spoke to Gram today who is rather upset that I haven't read her the blog lately. I told her there have only been one or two new blogs since Christmas. So if we could all stick with that story, I would appreciate it.

That's all for now. Have a great Friday
