Early morning inspiration

Today I was roused from my deep Sunday morning slumber this by strange, strange sounds -- even for Atlanta. My mind, fogged with sleep, searched for, and rejected, possible sources. Burbling brook was OUT -- no water in these parts. Angry mob, come to punish me for my various transgressions on airplanes, kinkos, grocery stores, etc? Much better likelihood of THAT. Much much.

Now I was worried.

The noise grew louder. Sleep was out of the question. I got up, and walked to the window.......

Hey lookit THAT!

It was a marathon. A marathon! Running right past my house. All these people, working hard early in the morning, taking care of their bodies, running a distance that can sometimes be painful in a car. I was filled with a sudden sense of inspiration!

Oh no -- not inspiration to run a marathon -- that's just nuts. As soon as they open up the street, I'm going to the waffle hut for breakfast!

PS -- I think I saw mustafa running!

Happy Birthday Mom!!!

Happy Birthday Mom
by JT

She looks great for 73; doesn't she? Maybe some more sun. She still just loves to bake.

Mom's big day was spent preparing to plant her spring flowers. She brought out last year's diagram and started organizing her bulbs in the sitting room. Unfortunately, Mr. Fixit already had the room vacuumed and became a lil' disheveled seeing it torn apart.
We arrived just in time to break up the melee' when we showed up for dinner. Mom had a good grip on father's neck, but Sandra was smart enough to use the au jus from the beef to loosen mom's grasp.
After that, dinner was wonderful. As Auntie B has alluded to... many things were accomplished this evening, Holtzapalooza II, shower plans, the global warming debate (I favor it), and Zach's "are you smarter than a fourth grader homework"... including a roadtrip to Boston to suprise cousin Adm in June... that'll be fun. Adm, there will be only ten of us... so don't plan anything big when we're down there. We''ll just need a place to crash for a few days. Well enough about my woonderful mother. Happy birthday mom, we love you.

March Maddness... This should help with your brackets

Let the Games begin! The field of 64 has been selected. Our Hometown Favorite, Niagara Purple Eagles will face the dreaded Kansas whatevers on Friday. This picture was taken after they defeated Florida AM. They are ready to go. However, predictions aren't in the Purple Eagles favor. Kansas is favored by 16 pts.

I did go to HSBC arena today to catch a glimpse at a NCAA champion hopeful. I was just in time to see Butler working out prior to facing Old Dominion. If OD has time to look at the blog before tip off, maybe they will have # 14 double teammed in hopes of an upset.

While at HSBC, I spotted AL Gore (wanna be environmentalist) preaching to Davidson telling them they can beat Maryland if they just do a # 1 before the game. At least that's what I heard!

I wasn't leaving until I saw the remainder of the teams who will be at HSBC arena this weekend. When Duke hit the court, the fans burst into cheers. I knew that they were the favorites. I did meet some interesting Duke fans, who carpooled just to see their Hometown favorites.
I tried telling him that the game hasn't started yet. But, he didn't want to hear any of that. He kept on cheering.

The fans even thought if they jumped in the Niagara River they would turn blue. After that they were spotted at the Anchor Bar.

Following practice, Coach K was informed that he was not chosen for Dancing with the Stars they had voted Claven in stead. He became very distressed, that he was unable to focus on the upcoming game. His players were their to console him.

Of course, we can't forget our other favorite team GW or Boston College. Here's hoping that your teams make it to the sweet 16! Before I left HSBC arena, I met some great people. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay for the remainder of the practices. The hot dog vendor was only there until 2:40. But, I did tell my new friends that they would have a special spot on the blog.....

Grandma's Birthday Party Post 2

The great-grand kids were very well behaved through out the day. Emma did a great job handing out "heart" stickers to each guest. Zach was in charge of making sure the movies were still playing. Austin did a great job handing out the party favors.

The party at Aunt Patti's and Uncle Chuck's was a wonderful time. As you can see by the picture above, Jeff has his "heart on". Jill's rosey cheeks just shows how many glasses of the EXCELLENT punch we had. I however was not in the picture because I was already, "in the bag".

The Holtz women are sporting the "Anastasia pin" and posing for the camera. Aunt Sue has her poker face on. (Please note, Betsy's red cheeks).

Grandma's sons... They all have their "hearts on". Notice George's shirt! Good Luck NU! See you at the dance. This picture was taken hours before Uncle Gary won his $2.50 at casino night.

The birthday gal and her great grand daughter. Grandma never took that lei off until she was home. Of course she had to show all of her friends!

From LM to EA the passangers in the limo consumed 4 bottles of wine and 12 drink boxes. Ziggy our limo driver, played country music so we could sing and dance.

Who woke up Jenna???????????????????????????????

These two gals are audtioning for the witness protection program. Aunt Sue passed out Leis'. PH passed out cataract glasses.

SHH! What did they put in those drink boxes!

Grandma is still smiling from ear to ear after her birthday bash.

Grandma with her best friend Ruth at dinner. Ruth wanted the chicken parm but accidently ordered the veal parm. Don't worry the correction was made prior to her digging in!

Photograph taken at the restaurant. A few hours prior to UG and his big winnings.

Hours prior to the above guests lossing at casino night.

We will have to do this at HOLTZAPALOOZA. Speaking of HOLTZAPALOOZA 2. Is the date set?

Where is Spring??

Winter has taken its ugly toll. Even Mustafa, once young, vibrant and spry, is showing the effects of this unrelenting snow and cold.

We would like to say that these have been spotted in our garden, but you would all know that was a LIE! This picture was taken LAST spring. If the extended forecast is to be believed, relief is on the way.
