There's Plenty of Cars Out There

A Car Editorial
By JT Pilaf

Jll's recent unfortunate car news got me thinking... what car would I want if I had my pick of any car in the world. The obvious choice and first one that comes to mind is the Bat-mobile. I mean come on, hello.... it's the Bat-mobile, Adm, help out a brotha'. You know what I'm sayin'.

There's other obvious choices that communicate what kind of guy I am. This car says "I'm the sensitive type and I listen". "Tell me, I'm here for you".

And this one says "I learned how to spell Oscar Mayer by watching that commercial as a kid". But what it also says is, "I can drive anything and still be one cool dude".
Now, I'm not saying Jllie should be buying one of these cars, she needs to find her own personality. Though I believe Gary would like to see Jll in either or both. (Good Gary, not that other Gary).
But wouldn't it be nice if she pulled up in my driveway in the Bat-mobile and asked if I'd like to take around the block for a spin. A boy can dream can't he.

The Schultz Philosophy

Schultz Philosophy
The following is the philosophy of Charles Schultz, the creator of the 'Peanuts' comic strip. You don't have to actually answer the questions.
1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of Miss America.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last half d ozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.
How did you do?
The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners .
Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:
1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with .
Easier?

The lesson:
The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care .
'Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia '(Charles Schultz)

Mrs. Fixxit Goes to Washington... ummmm, jail.

How Mrs. Fixxit Spent Her Day Off
An Unauthorized biography
By JT Pilaf

I guess what goes around, comes around. Ask Rick, the quiet one, to elaborate. After years of mentally and physically abusing her children, the law (or fire department... whatever), finally caught up to her and gave her what's been coming. As you can see she barely is squeaking out a smile (always the optimist). I'm sure my meager donation to get her out jail was helpful in her release from the slammer 30 minutes later (sound familiar Lindsey Lohan fans?).

A memorable day with an unmemorable ending

Waking up New Year's Day felt like waking up Christmas morning as a kid...full of excitement and the unknown! The tailgaters promptly left at 7:45am amid a heavy dusting of snow after loading the car full of beer and junk food. We arrived at our tailgating destination only to find breakfast already being cooked. The pengiun was mighty tasty! (Don't worry kids, its not real)

After breakfast we moved right into the days activities. I had no idea the Stanley Cup was that small, it only held one beer!

Jenna and Jill were appropriately dressed for the weather. Jenna is a little red in the face, but thats from the Smirnoff.

We got into the stadium early to see the opening ceremonies. The crowd was pumped!

The choppers going overhead were completely unexpected and definately gave me chills!

I believe these boys started tailgating the night before. It was a balmy 33 degrees out so I guess it is understandable that they were hot and needed to take their shirts off.

The snow was definately coming down, but that deter from the excitement of the crowd. Not an empty seat in the whole stadium.

Some of the Sabres warming up....Ya I wish our seats were this close. Nice zoom on the camera!

The game begins....This is probably where Pitt scores with 20 seconds into the game.

Unfortunately, we all know how the game ended. Overall the experience was awesome minus trying to leave the parking lot after the game.

I'm alright... it's just cabin fever.

How I spent my 6th of January
By JT Pilaf

After some churchin' (which at times I badly need) I came home and doodled all day. This was the best I could come up with, a crazy monkey. I watched some football, thought about life on Mars, and life without peanut butter. Other than that... oh wait, I watched the Sabres game... are they even trying?
Next week, the ten best hats I look good in.
