Yee Haw! Happy Birthday Zachary Cole okay and Grandma too.

So on the eve of Grandma's 91st birthday, I thought I would suprise her with a visit. She was anxiously awaiting for someone to call her and take her out. She explained to me she put make up on and washed her hands for her night out.

I drove around for approx 20 minutes before we settled in at the Roadhouse on Niagara Falls Blvd.
After studying the menu she decided on an oldie but a goodie, Chicken sandwich light mayo with a sweet baked potato.
During the course of our meal I slipped a note to our friendly waitress that explained tomorrow was a very special day. I counted on her to take care of the rest.

After grandma ate half her sandwich, the waitress kindly packed her lunch for tomorrow which consisted of peanuts, rolls (7), and her 1/2 chicken sandwich.

A scary moment at HSBC arena

After a much heated debate this morning, mother and I decided to attend today's hockey game. We were going to sell or auction the tickets, simply due to the frigid weather. But, instead we bundled up and paid a little extra money to park closer to the arena.

As many of you have already heard the tramatic incident with the Florida Panthers forward Richard Zednik .

Thanks to Kaleida, we had excellent seats. We were 20 rows from the ice. We had a clear view of the skate going to the throat of Richard Zednik. Clear silence filled the arena as medical personnal attended to the injured player. A trail of blood followed his every move.

Everyone stood in disbelief for the 15 minutes of delay.

When the announcement came overhead that Richard Zednik was in stable condition and en route to Buffalo General Hospital, the arena erupted.

The Sabres escaped a 5-3 win; but on the minds of the fans and players was the unfortunate accident on Richard Zednik.

This is a picture of the medical personnel being rushed to the locker room to treat the forward.

The staff quickly responded to Richard Zednik as he skated to the bench after teammate Olli Jokinen was flipped by Sabres Defenseman Brian Campbell. Jokinen fell head-first to the ice. His right leg flew up and struck Zednik directly on the side of the neck.

Ryan Miller was clearly shaken up and wanted the team to meet at center ice to reflect.
The faces on the fans and players said it all.

LET'S GO BUFFALO!

Well here it is Superbowl 42, whoopty doo!! The only thing I care about is if one of the five pools I am in come out with me the winner. I thought it was time to post some pictures of Buffalo's Superbowl appearances.

The last time the Bills were in the Superbowl I was 14 years old.
No one will ever forget that infamous night of Jan 27, 1991 where Scott NorWIDE missed a 47 yard FG that would have defeated the NY Giants in Superbowl XXV. Little did Buffalo know that was just the start of four consecutive Superbowl appearances.

We also will not forget the heartbreaking loss to the Washington Redskins in Superbowl XXVI held in Minnesota in 1992. Future NYS senator hopeful, Jim Kelly threw for 4 interceptions that game in a crushing 37-24 loss.

We all try to block out the embarssing XXVII Superbowl loss to the dreaded Dallas Cowboys. This superbowl appearance was voted as being the most embarrsing moment in Buffalo Bills history. I am sure I could have thought of other embarssing moments. But, I was never polled that question.

And the fourth and final consecutive Superbowl appearance for the Bills also ended in defeat. The bills again lost to the dreaded Dallas Cowboys 30-13.

Well like every Superbowl, I will be in front of the tv in anticipation of KDH's commercial. Do I root for the New England Patriots who will go down in history as what some "experts" are saying is the Best football team ever, who was caught cheating during a conferance game. where Randy Moss is a teammate. UGH! Or, do I root for a team that defeated the Bills in a loss that I still haven't recovered from.
Well, I am just rooting for one of my six football pools to come out on top and the singer in the halftime show to keep her shirt on.
As John Madden was famously quoted as saying, " No matter what they do, they really can't screw it up."

LET'S GET READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!!
